The premise of the show is explained in the following link but its about couples on the run from the law and it they can not get caught they win 250,000. One couple rented a new car and so the pros could locate them through their car computer only if newer than 2010. I agree with you, I am a fan of old spy films where a lot is embedded in the details and various trifles and not just in the dynamics of the plot and heaps of useless episodes.
