Poll: Wynne at 14%. Will she have to step down to save the party?

Premier Kathleen Wynne’s approval rating has hit a new low, according to a poll by Forum Research.

The poll of 1,124 Ontario residents found that just 14 per cent of respondents approve of the job that Wynne is doing as premier while 77 per cent disapprove and 9 per cent have no opinion.

Wynne’s approval rating is down from 16 per cent in September and is now lower than any approval rating that Forum Research has recorded for a sitting premier.

The other leaders at Queen’s Park, however, did not fare much better.

The poll found that 27 per cent of respondents approve of the job that PC Leader Patrick Brown is doing as leader of the Official Opposition while 24 per cent disapprove and 49 per cent have no opinion.

Meanwhile, NDP Leader Andrea Horwath had an approval rating of 36 per cent, though 24 per cent said they disapproved of the job she is doing. An additional 39 per cent said they had no opinion.

Dalton McGuinty had to step down as the Gas Plant scandal was heating up and Wynne stepped in and washed her hands of it. The stupid Ontario voters bought it. Well now that we have Hydro rate issues, and scandals associated with that. And nothing Wynne can say, or do, can really lift the stink of it. Certainly not another rebate that won't cover the impending hike associated with Carbon Pricing.

The stupidity of the Ontario voter never ceases to amaze me, but it looks like this party's usefulness has finally run its course. A year and a half from another election, the time might be now to push Wynne out the door. Or will they just hope that fear mongering and Public Service Union support will win the day again?

Wynne is very arrogant and if she resigns her legacy will be one of failure. I don't think she could handle that unless she convinces herself she is hated for being a lesbian or a woman.

I can't figure out how she still has 14 percent.

You gotta be a special kind of loyal to think this government is doing a good job.

Even if she steps down who will take over?

Her ever failing upwards dept premier Deb Matthews?

Sousa who with creative bookkeeping just made the books 10 billion more in debt.

Glen Murray who is even more insane than Wynne.

Or perhaps george smitherman will come out of retirement and join the race. If he is not too busy testifying against the ontario government that is.

So a nineteen year old bible thumper is running in hudaks old riding.

This is the social conservative crap that the keeps people like Wynne in power.

The flip side is if the Liberals lose both bi-elections it might very well be the point she gets pushed out.

Why should she bother retiring. There are many more politically correct socialist marxist activists fools that think like her in the waiting that it would be a waste of time and money to replace her. Just make her a dictator of Ontario forever. When Ontario was a WASP province back in the sixties, all this crazy LGBTTRKLA etc.etc. gender nonsense and forced multiculturalism was non-existant, and those two programs and agendas alone have destroyed what once was a great place to live in and work. But as you said the Ontario voter is beyond useless and hopeless. They keep voting for the same politicians over and over again who have virtually destroyed anything that once resembled an Ontario that was once a Caucasian, Christian, straight and real conservative province. That majority of those people are on the decline thanks to those fools who haven't got a clue as to what the game plan is nor if told don't really care or just won't do or say anything about it because they have become too politically correct and cowardly. Ontario is already doomed and has become nothing more than a bastion for sexual deviants and third world immigrants. So long Ontario.

The PC's need to stop being politically correct and start to take on the liberal establishment and all their useless expensive marxist socialist programs and agendas that they have forced on the docile sheeple of Ontario. Otherwise, if they are not going to speak political incorrectness than they are not a PC party at all but just another liberal party wearing conservative clothing.

I have no problem attacking the "don't assume my cats gender "crowd. Plus all the other politically correct bs we have been living with.

What is more important to me is fixing the taxing and spending ways. The lack of control over the last 13 years is staggering.

The problem is with the taxpayer's of Ontario who just don't seem to give a dam. Until that changes, nothing will change. The tax and spend crowd will still have their fun blowing taxpayer's tax dollars.

The typical Ontario taxpayer is like the rest of the taxpayer's in Canada. They are too docile and too apathetic and too bloody lazy to want to do anything about how their tax dollars are being blown by all levels of governments. Basically, the majority of Canadians just don't give a fiddlers dam about anything but what affects them only. What, you have a problem?  Not my problem. Go away. But if I have a problem well you must help me. Sad indeed.

14% impossible. That's so damn high for such a collosal failure of a politician,

I think she looks like the daughter of Orval Redenbacher the Popcorn guy or Jane Hathaway from the Beverley Hillbilllies.

On a more loving note, the guy who runs the PC party looks like the head of the TTC Union or some Cro Magnon man.

We need someone with proper qualifications.  At this point I would vote for Norm MacDonald a native of Ottawa.

If he wouldn't run then Colin Mochrie. Let's be honest and put someone best qualified in.

The best qualified will never be allowed to become a leader of any of our three levels of governments. It is just not the Canadian way to want to have someone who may try to change the corrupt and rigged system that if one looks into it will find it so. As an example, The Comer Report was kept in the closet by our phony politicians who helped lock the closet door on that report. The truth about who controls and creates our money cannot be allowed to be revealed by our puppet fake politicians. If you don't believe me just go punch in The Comer Report on the internet. I always thought that women had higher morals and values and standards than men have but with the likes of Notley, Redford, Wynne and the Hillary types, they all have shown that they can be just as evil and corrupt and crooked as men can be in politics. In my humble opinion all politicians are failures because we the sheeple have allowed them to get that way. They work every day to keep us poor with their creating more taxes and give us less freedom. Don't look for an honest politician to pop up anytime soon in the near future because the elite scum that control our lives will never be allowed to go anywhere. The elite and their puppet politicians and the fake and phony media will make sure of that. We are slaves, live with it.

Does it really matter if she or any leader steps down?  Once the party goes against the people in the minds of the people, that party is gone.

Thats not a forgone conclusion.

"OMG Patrick Brown tried to placate Social Conservatives!!! He's unfit to lead!!!". There is a faction of the PC Party that want Patrick Brown to step down because he back-tracked on scrapping the Sex Ed Curriculum.

Public Sector Unions will rally around Wynne and ads on the radio will say that if Patrick Brown is elected the electricity grid will collapse and children will not be educated. Fear Mongering seems to work well in Ontario.

I just hope the PCs can come out with a reasonable platform and realize that you don't have to be 100% honest like Hudak tried to be. It seems Ontarians don't mind being lied to. They want to be told everything will be alright, even if you will have to scale back spending to even approach a balanced budget.

The friggin province is bankrupt. The friggin country is bankrupt. Given the preference of Ontarians to keep the feds and prov government different the pattern probably will see a PC government come back in and be faced with collosal debts. What can they do? Even if they slash government departments  and go the way of Mike Harris, etc., the interest on the debts now accruing from the McGuinty-Wynne years can't magically be erased. The new government will be tempted to  sell off things like the LCBO which I think would be a mistake but will be too tempting to resist as a quick fix.

Its bleak. When governments like the ones we have now fed and prov run huge deficits, instant cures from the next gov. aren't possible.

Ontario is in for some tough fiscal times dealing with the impact of this crazed deficit spending.

Canada will follow. Trudeau is another feel good Wynne spending like some maniac not giving a thought to the future. In his world like Wynne's they are divine and anointed by God. Their visions are not to  be questioned. St. Justin of Trudeau and St. Catherine of Wynne will lead us off the cliffs. I never was a fan of the Saints. Joan of Arc for example, a tad deluded. I like St. Francis though. I mean he liked animals.
