The War on Terror has failed

Title says it all.

Every week we see large bombings from terror groups in various places where the "war on terror" was supposed to be won. This also has created the largest refugee crisis we have seen so far.

Power voids created when these leaders were taken out. They were bad, but removing them made things a lot worse. And the evidence should be clear for all to see.

Afghanistan :

Not the first time this place has been attacked. Another attack was back in February

The Taliban claimed responsibility on Monday for a suicide attack in a busy area near the Afghan defence ministry in Kabul, less than two weeks after dozens of people were killed and wounded in an attack on the American University in the capital.

After a lull following the death of former leader Mullah Akhtar Mansour in a U.S. drone strike in May, the Taliban have stepped up their campaign against the Western-backed government in Kabul, putting security forces under pressure.

I was in Afghanistan as part of a group following the UN high commissioner for refugees, Filippo Grandi. The morning after we arrived, we awoke at 5:50 a.m. to the sound of a huge explosion. A suicide bomber had boarded a bus taking Nepalese security guards to the Canadian Embassy. The toll: 14 dead and eight injured.

By the end of the day, the bombing site was clean. No sign of the carnage. That's what constant violence does. It becomes the norm, to be cleaned up and lived with.

The cost of it all, and we really have no idea of what it really is costing.

The official UN figure identifies conflict in 31 of 34 Afghan provinces. And this after the United States has officially spent upwards of $650 billion fighting al-Qaeda and the Taliban since 2001, and donor countries have contributed another $150 billion in development aid. Much of it has disappeared, into pockets of ministers and regional bosses, into offshore accounts, and into artificially inflated contracts.

Syria

The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) later claimed responsibility for the blasts. The militant group said the attacks were suicide operations targeting the Syrian government and a Kurdish security force.

ISIS also claimed responsibility for twin suicide bombings in the neighbouring coastal towns of Tartus and Jableh in May that killed over 160 people.

Seems counter productive to bomb hospitals. But how many has NATO targeted? Who knows.

Physicians for Human Rights says its research indicates the vast majority of the attacks — "more than 90 per cent" —were carried out by "Syrian government forces and their Russian allies."

Now to another aspect and evidence of the failure is the migrant/refugree crisis.

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2016/09/05/truckers-block-calais-to-demand-closure-migrant-camp.html

CALAIS, France – Hundreds of truckers in big rigs, farmers in tractors and dockers and merchants on foot blocked a major highway in northern France on Monday to demand the closure of the Calais migrant camp known as the "jungle."

Local authorities are urging travelers to avoid the area in hopes of limiting disruptions from the Monday blockade, aimed at paralyzing traffic on the route used to access Britain via the Eurotunnel and port.

Tensions have increased as the population of the camp has risen to at least 7,000 migrants from the Middle East and Africa, who are trying to reach Britain. The upsurge has come even though authorities have tightened security and closed half of the camp, showing the challenges of Europe's migrant crisis.

The more we bomb, the more refugees show up. And that's just France, many other European nations are facing the same crisis. This is putting a strain on economics across the board and will bring nations to their knees as they cannot afford to house/feed/clothe them or even have the ability to offer them jobs.

The other possible solution is internment camps. Which I predict will take place in another year if this movement from the M.E. to Europe continues. That means military/police will be detaining them and holding them in camps. And that may be for the long term. It will only take a couple more mass bombing attacks in European nations for that lockdown to start. In a sense it already has started.

Over 15 years, trillions of dollars, thousands of troops dead and hundreds of thousands of civilians dead

Albright said it was worth it killing all those people to get Saddam. I wonder what she would think of it now. Was it still worth it?

I have still yet to touch on Yemen, Libya, and other failed nations.

Here is the situation in Calais from CBC. The camp is about 6000 by this report. Fences have already been erected making everyone feel uncomfortable. Calais experienced an attack recently.

The video also touches on the recent Syrian migrants accepted into Canada, Lepine calls it madness. Saying the real terrorists will blend in with the others and cause havoc abroad. As it happened in Paris.

The invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq were major mistakes on the USA's part.

This has gone beyond that. And USA holds some of the blame along with every member of the 'Coalition of the willing'. Canada included.

Yeah, I don't think we'll ever win this war on terror. We really ought to get our military personnel the hell out of those places and just maintain diplomatic ties where possible. We certainly aren't helping, and as indicated by our recently joined Turkish member, we aren't appreciated.

So much concern over refugees; I fail to see why there isn't the same concern over tourists, business people or regular immigrants. Could it be that the first two bring money with them, therefore are above suspicion? And the last is presumed innocent because they aren't poor and desperate?

Maybe it's because they go through security at the airport.

It appears that we have been programmed into this "war on terror". The perpetrators of this catch phrase had wanted to demonize their opposition by labeling anyone opposing them as terrorists. Therefore a war on terror would validate any force used against any individual or group targeted.

Remember the terror of the Huns and those slant eyed terrorist yellow menace of Pearl Harbor? That got enough normal people upset where they were ready to kill these terrorists. The fact that the genetic background is the same now in our German Friends and certainly the same as in our Japanese trading partners and investors into Canada.

Now the validation to wipe out people is to label them terrorists and then obliterate them.

Nothing has changed. People have not changed. People still kill other people for a variety of reasons - valid to the killer.

In 30 years the Russians will again be good guys, the West will be continue to fight for the Middle East and Asian markets and to-days terrorists will be tomorrows allies.

Isn't this special. On comes Ghost to claim the war on terror has failed while at the same time on the Turkey terrorism thread Big Guy declares there is no terrorism in the Middle East and now on this thread to lecture.

Well at least the agenda is out in the open. Any pretense what the agenda is and who stands for it is there for all to see.

Go on defend appeasement of terrorism while denying it at the same time.

Lol.

What a joke.

We have done this before
and we will do it all again
the kid’s in the corner shaking and screaming
“I am the lightning that will be your undoing”
we have been here before
we have done this before
and we will do it all again

We have fought here before
we have lost here before
when the fix was on winning
there’s rats in the corn breeding and eating
the floor under your feet
all up and down your street
busting down doors and dragging them
we have been here before
we have done this before
and we will do it all again

Then we are all terrorists....glad that's settled.

I'm not, but it could be argued that some of the people who founded our countries generations ago might have been. Not much different from what Israel is doing now from what was done to the natives as the colonies spread westward.

Sorry....but we can't pick and choose when it started and stopped just to single out Israel. Israel didn't send its army to Afghanistan.

Calais is only a problem because of a spineless, left wing French government. Put me in charge and the problem will go away, I assure you - far away - as in back to north Africa.

We don't see it here, though, which is the main point.
