Hi,

My guest post on Judith Curry's blog has been posted here:
http://judithcurry.com/2015/11/29/decision-making-under-uncertainty-maximize-expected-social-welfare/

This is a shorter version of a longer version here:

https://curryja.files.wordpress.com/2015/11/expected-social-welfare-maximization-2.pdf

The longer version has a lot more nuance, but I had to keep the word limit to around 4000 for the shorter version.

If you want to make any comments on it, please post here.

Expected social welfare maximization is a way to make decision making under uncertainty. This is especially applicable to climate change, where uncertainty is fairly high. Though it can be applied to pretty much any policy question, from immigration, to education, to healthcare.

Since you apparently don't quote/cite Paul Samuelson in either text/link, I stopped reading after several paragraphs.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
