Predict how Canada will look like in 4 years

Motive can cause a jury to make a distinction at sentencing, and that is understandable. But it should be left out of determining conviction.

Motive is also a primary component in what charges are laid.

You seem to be hell bent on separating honour killing from domestic killing as if North American domestic killing gets a pass.

And you seem hell bent on doing everything in your power to prevent any social disapproval from falling on cultural beliefs which see women as disposable chattel.

No, the difference you speak of is intent, not motive. The crown lays the appropriate charge based on what they deem was intent, and of course what evidence they have to support the charge.

If you murder someone for kicks, or because you were angry, that's second degree murder. If you murder them for sexual purposes that's first degree.

He is not even PM and he is phoning Obama to tell him we are out in the fight against ISIS , that tells us a lot of this so called nice guy . And at least he could have waited until he was PM and after today, being the anniversary of the shooting of Nathan Cirillo.

So I guess that means you oppose the idea of hate crime charges where the penalty to a violent crime is harsher if the motive is because of the race, religion or gender of the victim.

No it's good to make the distinction.

But setting up a hotline for 'violent white rednecks' instead of calling 911 is pretty dumb.

Okay, first, Obama called him. Second, I would think it would be prudent to let our closest ally know what's happening very soon after he takes office (probably by the end of the year) so that he can arrange replacements for our 6+1 aircraft in theatre.

He is not PM and should not be giving orders. The Americans can wait. It just seems he was so horny to start telling people what to do. We are going to have a major problem with this guy. And over there is right, he is a divider, just like the old man. This country had never been so peaceful with harper at the helm. The only problem was the left went ape shit over losing to him and never quit till he lost.

Oh good grief. He's PM designate, and in our system of government, that means that during the period of transition his prerogatives will be recognized as having the same weight as if he is sworn in. He is perfectly within his rights to begin laying out his policies.

Just because you appear ignorant of how the transition works doesn't mean Trudeau is doing anything wrong, or anything differently than his predecessors. Talk about sour grapes.

By all accounts he told Obama that Canada will be withdrawing from the bombing mission, which is not the same thing as saying "I've ordered the bombing to stop."

The Liberals got elected. Get over it.

Third, ISIS killed Cirillo? What?

Four years from now?

Well, affordable housing will be still be a distant dream for many young working Canadians, seniors on GIS will continue to spend many weeks in hospitals and ambulances since they still won't be able to afford their prescritions or food on their tables, and, commuters in Vancouver will suffer the usual gridlock since the promised BC infrastructure poster project - the Broadway subway - remains an engineering dream due to cost sharing squabbles.

As a result of above, and many more failed promises, the NDP will have an 8 point lead in the polls.

You can dream. I think the NDP's days as even a hypothetical frontrunner are done. We're back to Red vs. Blue.

... and the inquiry into missing and murdered aboriginal women will be in it's 42nd month of endless hearings, and a review of fptp voting system will still be awaiting a Senate committee background report, but first and foremost, richer Canadians will be measurably better off.

Did you expect anything less?

In four years Canadians will be known on the world stage for our National mandatory drama program.

A new national holiday will be declared called "Who's your Daddy Day?"

Women will at last have equal rights as men-but only if they admit to having a mental disorder.

enough about your petty local bickering.

What about Canada?

If you want a subway system, raise property taxes and build it. It is that simple.
