It hurt their candidates in the GTA, as Paul Calandra noted, and made them look more like a throwback to Reform. I can tell you right now that C24 raises a question mark in the mind of any naturalized Canadian as to whether the list of crimes meriting loss of citizenship will be extended at some point. They were shut out of the Atlantic provinces, but that's largely because the candyman pranced and danced and smiled and waved and threw promises of more and more money at the pogey provinces, and of course, they had no reason not to dance along with him.
