Listening to goodale , he let it slip, that a new gun registry could be brought back in with a new government. I don't know if he made a mistake or trudeau's secret agenda is not so secret. And he has announced FPTP will be gone with him in power. Now we can have European style governments that never work.

Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

What was the quote where he let that slip? I cannot seem to locate it.

Note - For those expecting a response from Big Guy: I generally do not read or respond to posts longer then 300 words nor to parsed comments.

So you would prefer to maintain a system that allows idiots like Harper to get elected with a majority with less than 40% of the vote Oh BTW, Harper railed against the FPTP system.....before he was elected of course.

I prefer a system which produces stable government capable of making tough decisions to a hodgepodge parliament which falls every two years and is in constant election mode, with the parties constantly promising more and more goodies to the public to outdo each other. Can you say Greece? Can you say Italy? How about Israel?

Who said anything about changing the election cycle...as far as empty promises, look at ll the crap Harper is throwing on the table right now which has no chance of going anywhere before the election and is simply windbag electioneering trying to appeal to that 39% of the voters who put him in power.

Isn't EVERYTHING the opposition suggests in the same category? They can't do any of it unless elected. The tories are basically showing what they plan to do if reelected. They've been reasonably good at keeping their election promises, at least for smaller and medium size issues.

Every provincial NDP govt has had proportional representation as a policy up until the point they got elected. Then they have an immediate memory lapse.

When given the opportunity to change, to implement a new system- no action.

Gee, why should I be cynical?
