You bet i am a "denier". Ride that fear mongering band wagon to the bitter end and pay all your taxes.

thanks for coming out! Again, you keep using the plural 'regions', yet somehow can't find yourself to speak to the Arctic - go figure. Here, deny this:

.

Yet Greenland for example seems to have levelled off in its ice loss yet all rational says it should be loosing ice at its fast rate yet. http://www.arctic.noaa.gov/reportcard/greenland_ice_sheet.html

huh! "Leveling off"? So you deny the previous graphic presentation I put forward that shows the most significant declining rate of ice mass change for Greenland & Antarctica... did you even read your own supplied link? Here, deny this ... and this:

How does the warming ocean claim fit with the latest SSTA measurements? Here is a link right from NOAA http://www.ospo.noaa.gov/data/sst/anomaly/2016/anomnight.2.18.2016.gif ... All i see is cold water around the Antartic but with a little data "adjustment" that can be fixed i bet.

so you "eyeballed" some... "cold water", hey! Notwithstanding the Southern Ocean is warming at a rate faster than the global trend of ocean warming, you're presenting a link for 'SST sea-surface temperature anomaly'... you do know what that is, right? The Southern Ocean consists of a layer of cold water near the surface and a layer of warmer water below. Water from the warmer layer rises up to the surface, melting both ice-shelves from the bottom and surrounding sea-ice... notwithstanding the contribution from actual land-sheet melt run-off into the ocean. As I said in my preceding post; in detailing but one of three example contributing influences to Antarctic sea-ice extent:

"- the warming ocean is causing slightly fresher sea surface water around the margins of the continent’s melting ice shelves; additionally rain and snowfall increases are also freshening ocean water. These changes are altering the composition of the different layers in the ocean there causing less mixing between warm and cold layers and thus less melted sea and coastal land ice."

(now, again, just to speak further to your "eyeball prowess" for SST anomaly, look closer at your referenced graphic and consider the freezing temperature for salt-water is... normally..... -1.8°C)

other than your self-acknowledged denier position, you've added nothing of substance that might presume to add some measure of "credibility" to...to... to whatever you're actually trying to say about polar-regions ice-melt.

Either way, it makes me so proud that the resources of United States' government and private agencies (NASA, NOAA, NSIDC, etc.) continue to contribute to understanding of global warming climate change.

Economics trumps Virtue.

yes! It is also, apparently, an avenue for you to also, as you say, continue to contribute; although you've repeated this same "so proud" posted theme of yours many, many, many times in the past through a myriad of like GW/AGW/CC related threads on MLW, reading you... continuing to contribute... is a testament to your... proudness - no matter how many times you feel the need to... continue to contribute nothing else but that same expressed proudness!

I'm so flattered by the attention.

apparently... it's just the guys "style"... and, apparently, since nothing is ever done to stop it... nay, temper it... it clearly must be "on topic and challenging"... regardless of how many differing MLW threads, month after month, year after year, the claimed "proudness" is announced - or variants of the same theme where MLW members, apparently, have the gall/audacity to actually reference an American source.

and yet, invariably, when the sought after responses from MLW members come forward, board moderation has taken exception to some responses... in spite of the apparent "on topic and challenging" nature of said described "proudness" or variants of same! Go figure.

Maybe it's because the thread derails seem to, most often, have an identifiable thread all their own, so acceptable regardless of relevance to the existing discussion. Parallel derail, perhaps?
