Sure, Charles, I think most of us evolve our views over time. I'm often surprised when I look at past threads and see some of the stuff I wrote years ago, and find how my perspective has changed in the time since.

But really, Charles... do you honestly believe that our self-proclaimed socialist and teacher's union supporter has, in the span of a few days, evolved his views to the point that he's now somewhere to the right of Stockwell Day on the political spectrum?

No... far to the right. He's a Libertarian now, from being an unabashed Trudeau supporter only scant months ago.

I have made my mind up about this poster, and as much as I embrace the idea of changing ones position going from one extreme to the other (all the while posting "OPEN YOUR EYES" while writing your latest up-to-the-minute-all-new-opinion) naturally calls credibility into question so I don't blame those who are skeptical.

Nothing wrong with a changing opinion or seeing things another way.

But when your comments get bombarded with rambling responses way off topic repeatedly, then perhaps something else is going on?

I myself am just ignoring it!

Not just from one poster either.

Socialists tend to be very confused and confusing people!

But really, Charles... do you honestly believe that ....

Do you honestly care?

What difference does it make? Argus can not handle the fact that any idiot can see that the earth is flat. What is a moderator to do??

What difference does it make what I believe???

If you care to understand what I believe, start with this: Try with all of your might to explain what the word "believe" means to somebody who does not need to know what it means --- if you can imagine such a scenario.

I have made my mind up about this poster,

As far as the capacity of mod is concerned, I recommend that you do not bother to care.

What? Credibility questioned on an anonymous public access bulletin board?

I am perplexed too. I do not understand how anybody would care whether the person typing out behind the avatar is credible or not.

To the right of Stockwell Day? What a strange comment. Is that because you feel there should be a monopoly on political ideologies? Anyone who disagrees with your mundane, politically correct views is a far-right extremist? Nothing I have posted indicates Jobbik tendencies, like you accuse me of. I've come to see Trudeau in a new light and I am embarrassed that I once supported him. I've spoken to many people, live, as this forum is not my life. I've had interesting conversations and some very eye-opening conversations. Personally, I could care less what people like you And Mike Hardner think. Some of you think you are forum legends, but you are not.

I'm more worried about all the personal attacks against people for holding a position that others don't like, or even one that they imagine for them.

If you think the ridicule for the member is due to his position rather than their baiting posts......consult Argus, Ash, etc on their opinion.

Careful careful careful Charles Anthony!

What do you think will happen to this site if no one cared?

You really have a knack for giving bad advise!

I will try not to care, then, and accept whatever POV pivots occur but it throws you a bit when you are argued at from the north pole, then shortly later from the south pole.

It's not that the arguments from the north pole were in any way believable. No one, save perhaps the fellow who doesn't care and maybe you, fell for it in the first place. When it's obvious you're debating with a poorly developed character in some amateur writer's mind, it can get boring quickly. Like Charles, I don't care either. I like the comic relief. But I would think if you were here to promote honest discussion, fake discussion would be discouraged.

Or warn the people who blindly accuse of someone of being someone else when there is no evidence and no evidence presented. All it does is cheapen this forum.

Uh, just out of curiosity, why bring me into this? And for the record, I'm pretty well convinced the Earth is round. There are pictures, even...

There are particular kinds of characters who are drawn to anonymous public opinion boards. One requires a reason to spend hours a day communicating with and actively aggravating other posters. I believe a large part of it is the need to be noticed, for recognition and to be responded to.

To take an extreme view either to the right or left guarantees that there will be posters who will respond to you. To suddenly switch from one edge of the political philosophy to the other will generate even more. I am sure that there are a few posters who bait, antagonize and troll others because it makes them feel superior because everybody is falling for the ruse. Not only can one aggravate from the far left but also from the far right - is that not a wonderful ability?

The more outrageous the post, the more responses it guarantees - and the author reads the replies and celebrates the success of his/her in manipulating the readers. I am surprised how many people allow themselves to be played for fools.
