apparently it is what he had done every thursday.. you know thor's day.

apparently it was just anew officer on the gate that thought MP's had to obey traffic laws. cause stop sings on private properties arn't real stop signs..

I did the same thing on the american side of the ambassdor bridge, but its not a real bridge you know its private property so traffic laws don't apply

This is way worse than smoking crack, killing the guy who videotaped you doing it, and invading a house and assaulting the people inside to find out where the video is

You're accusing the mayor of Toronto of murder, aggrevated assault, and home invasion now?? Don't you think your goofy accusations are going a little over the top?

The CPC made complete asses of themselves during QP regarding this whole issue with Mulcair. I've criticized Mulcair already in this thread, but to mock the legitimate questions people have of the expense scandals that have plagued the Conservative caucus by pretending to question Mulcair in the same manner is just disrespectful to the taxpayers that the CPC have been defrauding.

Moore responded to a question on Wright with a few questions of his own for Mulcair.

"Is the leader of the NDP being investigated for running five stop signs?" Moore asked.

"Is the leader of the NDP being investigated for not listening to an RCMP officer? And is the leader of the NDP at some point going to show up in this House and apologize to Canadians for breaking the law?"

This is the exact same arrogance and sense of entitlement that got the Liberals turfed. Congratulations CPC. You've turned into the party you despise.

If the RCMP are investigating the $90,000, something should come out. It will be interesting to see what they find. A police investigation does not necessarily equate to a scandal, the results of the investigation may or may not.

A police investigation does not necessarily equate to a scandal

A police investigation most certainly is a scandal. A police investigation does not mean the parties are guilty, but Duffy and Wallin have already admitted as much. Brazeau and Harb are claiming no wrongdoing and that's not even touching on the two sitting MPs who are illegally allowed to vote in the House because Speaker Scheer is a puppet for the CPC and doesn't believe he should enforce the law.

Sure it is, but rumours, innuendo and unsubstantiated allegations are just as bad.

The CPC does certainly have some housekeeping to do, no question. I am hopeful that a thorough investigation and audit of all Senate expenses results, I think it's high time that the entire Senate be held accountable.

What I saw was the conservatives having some fun with it. Were they screaming for the RCMP and public inquiry and people to be hanged like the other parties do when someone farts. It is not the CPC making the fools out of themselves and your hatred is getting the best of you..

As much as I like to see this happen, so many resources are wasted/tied up with investigating some of these smaller amounts. They go after the small stuff and rarely if ever find out where the big money goes. And if they do, the punishments are quite lax.

If this exposed rampant expense cover ups by parliament members that have not been exposed yet, I guess that is the best we can hope for at this point.

Many of these people will receive little slaps on the wrist.

Exactly. Having fun when asked questions about the fraud that Canadians want to know about. Next thing you know, we'll have Harper showing us his golf balls during QP.

Harper does not act that way, he never has or will. You need to quit believeing everything the TO star tells you. Harper has never shown the arrogance of the trudeaus or the chretiens. He has alway acted properly. And again just imagine if it were harper, you would be screaming for his head, QP would be in kaos, the NDP themselves would be calling for the RCMP.Lies lies and more lies ,that is all we get now from the media, do what it takes to make sure we get the boy wonder as PM in the next eletion, to hell with the country we want trudeaumania number 2.

Running "stop signs" in the legislature parking lot? Asking someone if they know who he is because he's they were new to security? Much ado over absolutely nothing.... He should have stopped for the cop car, but really... big deal....

http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/story/2013/06/13/pol-mulcair-stop-signs.html

In 2010, Conservative MP Pierre Poilievre reportedly grew impatient waiting in line to drive through the screening area, got out of his car and pushed the entrance button for the gate without waiting for his car to be inspected.

Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird, who was government House leader in 2010, responded at the time that the Poilievre incident was a "trivial" matter.

Sheer absolutely did the right thing in that regard. It's EC's Maynard who is acting illegally in attempting to force Glover to make false expense claims instead of the factual ones she's standing by. Maynard is just lucky they haven't already fired his biased Liberal ass.

oh really! That is quite the partisan view you have there, hey! Since the amounts in question place both Harper Conservative MPs beyond the election spending limits, clearly, Elections Canada must pursue a rightful accounting. Surely you do not hold a position that there are a different set of rules for Harper Conservative MPs Glover & Bezan.

Elections Canada’s auditors have been seeking more information from Glover and Bezan since soon after the 2011 election, but the two MPs have declined to provide the requested information.

Paperwork on file with Elections Canada shows both campaigns made large payments to their affiliated riding association, with little detail about where the money went.

Candidate returns filed after an election typically contain a long, itemized list of payments made to suppliers for rent, advertising, salaries and other costs of running local campaigns.

But Glover’s return includes only nine payments, including two made to her riding association that represent the vast majority of her campaign spending. The entries, dated election day, say that Glover’s campaign paid $73,139 to the St. Boniface Conservative Association, with no indication of who ultimately received the money.

That line-item had entries of $34,777 under “other advertising” – possibly a calculation of the signage under dispute – $18,257 for “surveys,” $1,333 for rent, another $9,226 for other office expenses, and $9,545 described as “miscellaneous expenses.”

Bezan’s return shows a series of payments to 10 individuals, and $53,254 in payments to his riding association, including $17,253.31 labelled “other,” and $26,221.30 labelled “amounts not included in election expenses.”

The Elections Act requires every campaign to show where all the money it spends during a campaign goes, and auditors spend months working with campaigns from all parties across the country, trying to make sure their returns follow the rules.

The exact problem is that an MP can illegally win a campaign and continue to influence legislation with their votes in the House when their victory may be fraudulent. According to the law they MUST be suspended until they provide an appropriate accounting of their expenses. This is not a partisan issue at all, it applies to everyone equally. Since it's Conservative MPs at the centre of the issue though, the Speaker once again defends his party. When the government begins acting above the law or as though they exist outside the law, we call that a tyranny.

Verrrryyyy Innteerrresting.. he runs 5 stop signs then says "Do you know who I am"..

Mr. Angry indeed... :D

Imagine the outrage if that had been a conservative

And to add insult to injury, the NDP’s Charlie Angus referred to the women RCMP officer, both in the House and later on Power & Politics, as a meter maid…….for shame

This incident provides us a clear window into the character, or more accurately, the lack of character of this Mulcair fellow. We see how he treats the little guy when confronted with his own wrong doing. "Do you know who I am?" As if being a prominent politician should allow him to be above the law in a way the rest of us serfs aren't afforded.

The "don't you know who I am" reflex action is about as despicable as it gets.

I agree with this. Charlie's comment was entirely inappropriate. He should eat crow for that one.
