guyser Posted April 29, 2013 Report Posted April 29, 2013 Infringed or eroded, same as losing. WWWTT yES, well, except for the simple fact that youre wrong. But do come back when the Charter is revised and we lose any rights ok? Quote
Argus Posted April 29, 2013 Report Posted April 29, 2013 Why didn't all those anarchists just protest peacefully like they claimed they would - or better yet, stay home and whine about their agenda on social media? The radical left are the biggest bunch of hypocrites - they complain about police power and "brutality" yet they run to the police with any superious claim of crime committed against them. All leftist ideologies in the end would require a centralized, authoritarian state. All one has to do is look to North Korea. North Korea is more of a hereditary monarchy slash religious cult. The vast majority of the people protesting the G20 were not radical leftists, though I concede most were probably on the left side of the political spectrum. But in any civilized society you have to allow people to demonstrate peacefully against programs and policies with which they disagree. Argus Posted April 29, 2013 Report Posted April 29, 2013 This did not happen in Canada but I feel is relevant. http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/video/2013/apr/29/act-terror-arrest-filming-police-video WWWTT Didn't we have a case not long ago we were discussing of some kid who got arrested for videotaping some mall cops? It was the actual police who arrested him, though. Guest Kenneth Posted April 30, 2013 Report Posted April 30, 2013 LOL ! Ok, yes we best be careful, might wake up and poof....Canada is now N Korea. Hyperbole should be your moniker. Whats the frequency kenneth ? Same thing. Just look at how people are going gaga over Justin... you never know. Admit it though, it's an inherent element of Marxism that there has to be a centralized authoritarian leadership in order to create a Communist utopia. Socialism has considerable support in Canada and Communism has been tolerated from the beginning. The fact that we have two political parties that are founded on principles that have led to the state-sanctioned murder of hundreds of millions of people speaks volumes about how warped Canada has become. Actually,in order to protect your rights, you have to fight for them in court. Just the fact that our legal system is becoming harder and harder to access, alone is an incumbant upon our rights. jacee Posted April 30, 2013 Report Posted April 30, 2013 (edited) Please, hereditary monarchy? Well, then why don't leftists tolerate right-wing protests? Can you give an example?Tthe only thing I can think of is the Anarchists chasing down the neo-nazis. Is that what you mean? I don't think that offends most people. WWWTT Posted April 30, 2013 Report Posted April 30, 2013 yES, well, except for the simple fact that youre wrong. But do come back when the Charter is revised and we lose any rights ok? Why would the goverment try to change the charter??? The government can acomplish the same goal of infringement of rights by just created unconstitutional laws! It is up to citizens and groups to fight such laws through the courts and the cost of doing so is the main deterrent. WWWTT Quote Maple Leaf Web is now worth $720.00! jacee Posted April 30, 2013 Report Posted April 30, 2013 Interesting article in Macleans: Hitting close to home He is heir to a legacy of anger forced into exile, as his father, Mohammed, once put it, because of our identification as Palestinians, Arabs, Muslims and most importantly, as non-Jews. Raed Jaser was listed as stateless back in March 1993, when he was still a teenager and his family sought refugee status in Canada. The resentment practically rises from the pages of affidavits his dad filed in support of their claim. We lived in tents, through freezing winters and blazing hot sun, the elder Jaser said of the familys time in resettlement camps on the Gaza Strip. They were forced there in 1948, he said, after the Israeli army seized their home in Jaffa to make way for Jewish settlers: We were homeless and in poor health. 'Stateless' Palestinians continue to wander the world seeking safe places. It doesn't justify attacks on innocent people, but there are some 'root causes' that deserve attention, imo. It's way past time for a Palestinian state. Quote
