Mass shooting

Exactly, since attempting to confiscate private arms would require searching every single private residence in the United States……….Even if only 1% of the population “objected” to such a notion and favoured the “Cold dead hands approach” , that’s 3 million plus Waco Texas like stand-offs…….. That’s unimaginable, and like suggested before, would lead to civil unrest and a complete breakdown in American society……….At the end of the day, when only 43% of Americans in favour of further restrictions on Semi-auto firearms, quite clearly, that’s all that maters…….

Just running said numbers further..........In Waco, two ATF and two FBI members were killed..........times four officers by 3 million.

Sort of ...yes.

The people they suggested who could be utilized left a lot to be desired.

Not to mention , in spite of their good intentions and horrible math skills, they could never afford what they proposed to do and fund.

Why is that? Many are LEOs and military, and said programs are already used by law enforcement and the military..........

And what makes you so sure of the funding? Since the shooting, an average of 8000 new members have been joining the NRA daily.......

That's not going to happen, as Cuomo is just shooting his mouth off. I remember going through this back in 1968 when they went after handguns. Only problem was that unlike RFK, MLK wasn't killed with a handgun.

Guns are here to stay folks.

Yes but ammo comes and goes. Control how it comes and watch the effect on how it goes.

The least that governments big and small throughout the land should start doing is taxing the living shit out of ammo and guns - to offset the cost of policing the liberty and freedom to possess them in the first place. That should include all medical, burial, official investigation costs etc etc that must occur when liberty backfires...no pun intended.

Do the math. At anywhere between 40-000 to $100,000 per school......yea, the NRA cannot afford it with 8 million members.

It already is, and as mentioned by BC, many can make their own ammo...........Or like most, myself included, buy in bulk and have enough socked away to start our own Religion or a reasonable sized coup on a third world Island nation….

The NRA is offering to foot the bill of implementing and designing individual security arrangements for each school, not paying for policing or other security measures…………Think of it as free in home estimate.

Yes many can but few actually do.

I guess that just speaks for itself.

Controlling ammo is a very old idea...dismissed years ago as inadequate because of the huge inventory already stockpiled by owners. The only thing gun owners love more than guns is lots and lots of extra ammunition.

Already done for tobacco products and alcohol.....people still pay the price.

Guns made on 3-D printers more of a reality

Idea of home made guns disquieting to U.S. gun-control advocates

While saddened by the Connecticut school killing, Wilson said Thursday that protecting the constitutional right to bear arms by giving everyone access to guns is more important in the long term than a single horrible crime.

"Clearly what happened in Connecticut was a tragedy," he told The Associated Press. "Still, by affording the Second Amendment protection, we understand events like these will happen."

He said he discussed with his partners whether they should suspend their effort, and they all decided it was too important to stop.

Gulp.

Such thinking would have the Wright Bros. never inventing controlled flight for fear of what people would do/did with the technology.

I get that.

And this ...

He said the technology exists now for a highly motivated group to make a plastic gun on a 3-D printer that could avoid airport scanners. But the equipment is still too expensive for most people.

"Nobody right now needs to worry about the bright teenager making a gun on a printer in their bedroom," he said.

Except those who can afford $10 000 ... to make 'toys'.

Gulp.

Nope. It is a bad idea. BTW 53% of Americans support "Increasing POLICE in schools" not what you say. Please don't lie about polls.

Having people at schools with guns who are not police polls somewhere in 30s for support.
