TheNewTeddy
Curious if you'd agree with this statement I made to my roomate. Harper is good at governance. Sure he's not ethical, and sure he has lots of scandals, and sure on some files like the F35 there is incompetence. But when it comes to "Governance", especially related to money matters, he is doing a good job.

Moonlight Graham
Ethics is a part of governance. Harper gets a passing grade overall for governance but is still an ass.
Fletch 27
Far more ethical than the libs.... Your forgetting all of the million dollar scandals I'm afraid... And thef35 deal was signed and kicked off by the liberals way before harper. Do your homework.... Geezus Harper may not be a party animal or "a guy you wanna have a beer with" but I'm okay with NOT drinking with the smart azz SOB that's running the finances of my gov. Not ethical? Scandals? Sounds to me like you subscribe to the CBC. The libs fear him, the NDP loath him.... Simply because they and their followers have NOTHING to better him with. He has added more to the public debt than Mulrooney. Good government means not destroying the future of the nation. Jiblethead
nothing outstanding about him. In the ethics category, a miserable failure, just another corporate puppet as far as im concerned. but i guess he isnt too bad at handling political bs. Argus
He's not bad. I'd give him a B-. I'd have given Chretien a C- or a D+. Mulroney was a C-, Trudeau a D
kairos
Harper is the crappiest Prime Minister we've had since Mulroney.
Fletch 27
Good "Politics" could be reflected in many ways internally to Canada.... Now,, Good GOVERNANCE would have other countries looking to Canada as a beacon for a financially stable economy, secure Banking regulations, growing economy and growing workforce.. Hey! Isnt that whats happening now??? Good governance all around..
kairos
How on earth is Harper responsible for secure Banking regulations? Getting the US to bail us out on loan with interest is the reason the Canadian economy escaped relatively unscathed from the financial crisis, as well as the fact we have slightly better regulations leading back to the Liberal era. Fletch 27
Well is the Liberals are to thank the changes in Mortgage requirements put in place just this year... well "thank you very much "Michael Ignatieff"!! The Harper Government is refining and improving the system to accolades from around the globe. How on earth is Harper responsible for secure Banking regulations? Getting the US to bail us out on loan with interest is the reason the Canadian economy escaped relatively unscathed from the financial crisis, as well as the fact we have slightly better regulations leading back to the Liberal era. Mr.Canada
Pm Harper is a fantastic all around leader and everyone should love him. He isn't extreme in any one area but is instead fair to all people of Canada. He's an award wining statesman and excels at using diplomacy to forward Canada's interests. PM Harper isn't scared of the UN and doesn't listen to everything they say as they are corrupt, hopefully pulling us out of the UN. He's a political genius. Martin couldn't stop him, Layton couldn't stop him and Ignatieff certainly couldn't either. I'm still waiting to see how Pm Harper will destroy Canada if he got a majority as was promised he would by the Liberals and the NDP. PM Harper has been in power for a long time now has abortion or same sex marriage been outlawed? I don't think so. Martin, Ignatieff and Layton all said that Harper would destroy Canada. I wonder who we should believe...

Fletch 27
Are you employed? How's your home resale compared to 2009? How do you feel about people that can't afford a 600k mortgage now not getting approved for a 600k mortgage? How do you feel about one of the fastest growing economies in the global environment? How do you feel about excelerated employment numbers (almost 8x estimates)? The last is an earth-shaker.... Beating all estimates by multiples.... Or you can just go on hating... I don't care
cybercoma
I love how some conservatives criticize parties on the left for wanting to have control over the economy, then praise their party for having control over the economy. Fletch 27
So, your ok with couples with low paying jobs over-extending. I love how the left feels entitled to a big house, a boat, a truck, a cottage on others dime. It's called.... "living within your means"... No education, no job,,,, well,,, no big house or boat. The left will never stand for that. "we must all have what the hard workers have"!!!!! And so the socialist go on, and on, and on,,,, Mulcair for one am very glad the harper government has put an end to USA style mortgages... Worked out really well for them now didn't it cybercoma..... Wasn't that what you despised the most? Are you not torn now between USA style governing and rational governing? Would you like higher mortgage approvals? Shame..... I don't care Harper allowed 40 year mortgages with zero down.... they only recently backtracked on that, realizing it was the same mistake Americans made. Vancouver is the first housing bubble starting to pop... Harper is ignoring environmental priorities so the economy will continue to look shiny... Lets all drink oil and pour it all over ourselves! To hell with alternatives! We're rich with our TAR! How's our economy going to be when oil becomes too expensive? What's Harper's plan for that? He only cares about what the oil company lobbyists want him to think...
