Muslims in Toronto demand end to freedom of speech and expression.

Right, because until there's a peer-reviewed research study on these subjects, reality can't exist. The truth is in front of you...

No, your words are in front of me. Your words do not automatically equal truth. You must back up your claims with measurable, tangible evidence before your words can be taken as reflective of reality. I'm giving you the fair opportunity to support your argument before judging it as uninformed babbling.

It's a comment on the leftist nature of the majority of the Canadian media landscape.

Of course it was, and you think all those lefty media types (even at the National Post!) are conspiring to keep "the truth" hidden. Right?

You know they were calling for the death of others in this protest on Canadian soil right? And canging my right to free speach,, and your too right? Your aware of those 2 points right? Are you ok with those to items thatthe protest platform brought forward?

Oh give it a rest.

Your false outrage only emphasizes your own extremism.

Boring now.

I just fing the 1200 people chanting for the death of others over a short movie, or a cartoon; simply too intollerant to be allowed to enter the country. We dont need murderers, hatred and intollerance here. I would say the same if it was a faith from Norway or where ever. Its sickening and an intollerant faith. The recent developments highlight that.. Its NOT a "small group", its Hundreds of thousands up in arms and ready to kill over a movie. Please tell the family of the Libyan embassidor that was slaughtered that "its ok"

Riots/protests/demonstrations/attacks have taken place around the world in association with this YouTube film trailer, "The Innocence of Muslims". And it isn't just in Muslim majority countries, it's happened in Syndey, Toronto, Paris, Athens, and other cities. And the message is universal: WE OPPOSE FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND EXPRESSION. Unsurprisingly, these stories have been largely buried by leftist media outlets. When the stories actually are covered, the leftists (on CNN and MSNBC, for example) entertain the idea that freedom of speech and expression is too broadly protected in the USA and that it needs to be curbed into to acquiesce to intimidation from Islamists.

One of many examples:

Mike Barnicle Suggests Prosecuting Florida Pastor In American Ambassador's Death

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YV1Mc8z2Wc

Christiane Amanpour expressed a similar message when she was on CNN on September 12, questioning the breadth of protection guaranteed by the first amendment with no challenge from her host. Again, the contempt the left has for the most fundamental of all freedoms is on full display all the time.

I won't be. But don't expect others to serve you with proofs if you argue that way.

Also - you should probably look up 'irony' in your ironic dictionary.

Blasphemy is against Canadian law. Curse it! Section 296 of the Canadian Criminal Code makes it an indictable offence for anyone to publish a blasphemous libel. The maximum sentence is ostensibly a term of imprisonment not to exceed two years.

A Muslim is a Muslim. There are no degrees thereof as there is in Freemasonry.. :P

A radical is a radical. Specificity is for clarification only, possibly as to motivation.

An extremist is an extremist. Regardless the political/religious/diet or sport.

An Islamist is a Muslim ;) except if other Muslims say they aren't.

A tomato is a fruit.

I'm not sure if I should get into this any further......... :P

A group of people stages a protest calling for certain forms of expressions to be banned... They should receive the same response people get when they petition for the CRTC or FCC to ban programs they find objectionable.

People in that group who call for anyone to be hanged for expressing their view should be arrested.

So, they're using the right to free speech to protest against free speech?

What claims are hard for you to accept? We are importing people into this country that do not subscribe to our basic set of values. That is a self-evident truth.

It's not really a conspiracy, I used to term "co-conspirator" facetiously. That doesn't change the fact that most of the Canadian media landscape share the same ideological outlook and worldview, which is why they not only carry the same stories but report on them in same manner with the same sanitised language. The fact that these events at the American consulate in Toronto were ignored by most of the Canadian media landscape is another in a long list of examples that demonstrates what Ezra Levant has accurately labelled "the consensus media". These protests/demonstrations are inconvenient to the leftism of CBC and The National Post. Hilariously, both the CBC and The National Post have covered irrelevant events such as the "Death of Science" demonstration on Parliament Hill.

It's really revealing that you're so intent of defending systemic media bias and pretending that it doesn't exist.

This is roughly Noam Chomsky's view, as well...which in fact is likely where you got it, from some reactionary plagiarizing Chomsky, but misreading the institutional analysis.

Christians are protesting with Muslims.

Christians are also protesting a new film that suggests Mary was raped.

The National Post is a leftist paper. Right. And Franco was a card-carrying member of the Spanish Communist Party, I guess?

Well I am in favor of full freedom of speech meaning that I think even hate speech should be allowed. I'd rather have these kooks out in the open so we can identify them instead of skulking in the shadows. The same goes for all of societies morons regardless of race, religion, political view and whatever else you have. There are extreme kooks in every aspect of life I find.

Bill C-43 goes a long way to helping with the problem of criminals remaining in Canada which is good news. We don't need people come to Canada to break the law and this bill gives Canadians more power over the safety of our nation. PM Harper really cares about the safety of Canadians and it shows through actions like this new bill. I have no idea why the NDp would be so irate over this bill. Do they not care about the safety of Canadians?

Agreed, except when violence is incited. Calling for the hanging of the film makers could be taken as that.

Lobbying to ban pornography were more intensely supported by leftist "feminists" than by Christian social conservatives.

Stop Online Piracy Act, now who authored this bill?

Republican Leaders Push for a National Ban on Most Porn

- August 29, 2012 1:59 PM

As part of its national platform, the Republican party is pushing for strict enforcement of existing anti-obscenity laws, which would effectively prohibit many kinds of pornography.

And nazism is a left wing product....:lol:

Hilariously, kraychik does indeed believe that the fascists were extreme leftists.

He's not alone...there are at least six or eight people with no education on the subject who think the same way.

You'll notice I chose Franco as an example. A right-wing conservative dictator he was, but whether or not he was a fascist is debatable. What does (not) work when trying to portray Hitler or Mussolini as left wingers does not apply that much when looking at Franco.

And Santa Claus is sitting down right now with the Easter Bunny to discuss strategies.

The Toronto Star, Maclean's Magazine, the National Post (Andrew Coyne in particular regularly appears on CBC), the Canadian Press and many other media outlets regularly send their journalists to the CBC as contributors for television segments (almost daily). Their business interests overlap in plain sight. This is not some sort of secretive collusion, it's out in the open for all to see. I remember the National Post also did a partnership with CBC to cover the 2010 Olympics. I could go on with many other examples, but what's the point? You have committed yourself to believing that the National Post and the CBC are arch competitors who operate from different ideological points of departure, when the truth is the opposite.
