Just for debate, would the provinces be better off without OTTAWA? Each province and territories go out on their own. All taxes would shift to the provinces,so no federal income TAXES, EI, I think would work out better if the provinces took this on anyway. Thoughts? The only problem may be the military.

I'm willing to bet that even Alberta would volunteer to chip in some money to help the poorer provinces, but that it would be much much less than current.

As some of you know (the ones who read my rants) I am a separatist. You might ask "what is a Quebec Separatist doing living in Toronto" and I answer "I'm an Ontario Separatist." You might then ask "So you want Ontario to go but Quebec to stay" and I answer "No, I'm a Quebec Separatist too... and an Alberta Separatist, and a Newfoundland Separatist..."
If Quebec separates from Canada, as Slovakia did from the Czech Republic or as Norway did from Sweden, then I fear that Ontario would become Michigan and Toronto would become another Detroit.

We're at the stage now in the negotiations that this is an issue.

Toronto is well on the road to becoming Detroit with or without Quebec.

Meanwhile quebec gets 50+% of the equalization money. And Marios is going to take it to harper for more. That will force mulcair to back her if he wants to keep quebec. Harper must be smiling.

Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.
