GostHacked Posted March 14, 2012 Author Report Posted March 14, 2012 Because they're afraid of Russian made weapons? Russia supplied the troops as well. Didn't stop 'em in the past. Russia and China just like to hand them out. There are over 175 million (MILLION) Russian made AK-47s alone somewhere on this planet. Then there's the Chinese copies. If you want to talk about gun runnin, we can look at Fast and Furious and see the hot water Holder is in. But we should get back to the topic at hand here. Quote
DogOnPorch Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 (edited) Russia supplied the troops as well. Big deal. Arabs can't fight conventionally unless trained by the British. If you want to talk about gun runnin, we can look at Fast and Furious and see the hot water Holder is in. Nice try. There are more AK-47s than any other weapon bar NONE. But we should get back to the topic at hand here. Evil media. I wonder who controls them? Pulls their strings? Edited March 14, 2012 by DogOnPorch Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
GostHacked Posted March 14, 2012 Author Report Posted March 14, 2012 Big deal. Arabs can't fight conventionally unless trained by the British. True, the MI5 has trained quite a few Arabs .. well that is my suspicion anyways. Nice try. There are more AK-47s than any other weapon bar NONE. Oh that I won't dispute. My pal has one of those AK-47 replicas. Nice piece. I was referring to the US running guns into Mexico, and when those same weapons cross back into the USA (illegally) the USA cries foul. Evil media. I wonder who controls them? Pulls their strings? Well now, that is a good question. Quote
DogOnPorch Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 True, the MI5 has trained quite a few Arabs .. well that is my suspicion anyways. Again...you show your lack of historical context. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arab_Legion Oh that I won't dispute. My pal has one of those AK-47 replicas. Nice piece. I was referring to the US running guns into Mexico, and when those same weapons cross back into the USA (illegally) the USA cries foul. So the US government is now running guns to Mexico? Well now, that is a good question. Ask yer pal, Alex...he's always 'in the know' with regards to these weighty questions. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
GostHacked Posted March 14, 2012 Author Report Posted March 14, 2012 Again...you show your lack of historical context. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arab_Legion You gave no real context to stick with. DogOnPorch Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 You gave no real context to stick with. But again, your game here is fun. Anyone with knowledge of the 1948 War would know about the Arab Legion complete with British officers. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/02/02/holder-says-no-one-punished-yet-during-testimony-on-controversial-fast-and/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATF_gunwalking_scandal 1400 guns? There's more than that in my small city. Meanwhile...175 million + AK-47s. I won't bother with the RPG-7 and PK 7.62mms...but that adds millions and millions of more weapons in the 3rd World. But sure...guns r bad, GH. Let's focus on the 1400 rather than the T-Rex sitting on the house. Seems there is doubt the US government was actually involved...but who cares? Alex is just one person I listen too. But if it makes you feel better to pick on that fact, have at it. The conspiracy theorist's version of Rush Limbaugh, in my opinion. Moonlight Graham Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 Oddly enough, most of the countries and groups involved in the 2nd Ongoing Congo War are equiped with Russian and Chinese weapons. Wanted to add that the 2nd Congo War is the deadliest war since WWII. More casualties than either the Korean or Vietnam wars...yet barely anyone has heard of it and barely anyone reported it. Hurray for self-interest and heads in the sand, eh? Quote "All generalizations are false, including this one." - Mark Twain Partisanship is a disease of the intellect.
DogOnPorch Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 (edited) Wanted to add that the 2nd Congo War is the deadliest war since WWII. More casualties than either the Korean or Vietnam wars...yet barely anyone has heard of it and barely anyone reported it. Hurray for self-interest and heads in the sand, eh? There are a few websites that do post uploads of the crazy violence in that area. But, you're right...it's huge and bloody and long. Many countries and groups getting involved. Plus, it's not just war. It's AIDES and starvation. It's religous and tribal strife. It's actual witch hunts complete with burnings. Pretty grim for Africa. GostHacked Posted March 15, 2012 Author Report Posted March 15, 2012 We were talking about Alex Jones. I am talking about propaganda. If you want to include Jones in there, go for it. But, maybe you should have made yourself more clear here. That kind of helps when participating in these threads. Alex could be considered propaganda. All media can be considered propaganda because they want to influence how you think and feel. However, watching Alex for the last two years, it's hard to discredit most of what he says. I mean using government websites as information to some is conspiratorial. He is propaganda for Ron Paul, because he believed in Ron Paul. Being independent media not sponsored by the entities that sponsor most main stream media outlets he does not have to play by the sponsors rules. Oh you don't think sponsors can't call the shots? Guess again. Quote

It's *hard* to discredit FEMA camps and that kind of nonsense ? Keep in mind that he is trying to grow his notoriety and does so by saying things that get attention. Nobody holds him to the same level of journalistic accuracy that they do, say, the NYT. It's because he's a cartoon. He is propaganda for Ron Paul, because he believed in Ron Paul. GostHacked Posted March 15, 2012 Author Report Posted March 15, 2012 Excuse me ? It's *hard* to discredit FEMA camps and that kind of nonsense ? Well if you want to pick on one topic, go for it. But in cases of emergencies, and you saw this in New Orleans during Katrina, the sports stadium was used as a camp of sorts. Any stadium can be turned into a camp per se in an instant during an emergency. Keep in mind that he is trying to grow his notoriety and does so by saying things that get attention. Nobody holds him to the same level of journalistic accuracy that they do, say, the NYT. It's because he's a cartoon. You are not even holding the MSM like CNN to that same journalistic integrity. I mean 'live from a studio in saudi arabia' ????? I don't trust all of what Jones says, but at least he backs it up with sources. All you get from the MSM is 'some government official' or 'pentagon officials', or 'military anylists', you know something generic and vague so they don't have to actually present facts. Jones does present facts. Jones posts links to his evidence. But some of the other sources are independent as well. He is over the top at times I agree. But that is one aspect of him I like. He gets mad on air. Just because he's independent doesn't me he's more independent. Actually it does mean he is more independent. He calls the shots, it's his show. He gets money from selling his videos, which he actually encourages you to copy/pirate and distribute. He does not get money from sponsors, he gets money from his subscribers. Judge Napolitano had his Freedom Watch show on Fox. When he started getting to the real nitty gritty stuff that is happening, his show got canned. Same reason Lou Dobbs was canned from CNN. www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-LtZv2hMkg I don't know if Ratigan is still on the tube after this .. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIcqb9hHQ3E Quote
Shady Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 This thread is more propaganda than I've seen from "the media" in a while. "The media" isn't one entity. It's made of of millions of people, all with different views, opinions, interests, and agendas. It's not a monolithic operation. Sometimes people within "the media" get things right. Sometimes people within "the media" get it wrong. As is the same in every other industry and/or profession involving human beings. Quote
Michael Hardner Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 Well if you want to pick on one topic, go for it. But in cases of emergencies, and you saw this in New Orleans during Katrina, the sports stadium was used as a camp of sorts. Any stadium can be turned into a camp per se in an instant during an emergency. This goes way beyond emergencies... they have some kind of theory that the government is planning to intern citizens... for some reason. You are not even holding the MSM like CNN to that same journalistic integrity. I mean 'live from a studio in saudi arabia' ????? I don't trust all of what Jones says, but at least he backs it up with sources. All you get from the MSM is 'some government Sorry, I asked you what your basis for suspecting something was, and what the motive would be and I didn't see a response. Even if CNN is blue screening people to put them "on location" - which I don't think they are doing - it's still a higher bar than making up, or quoting ridiculous theories that undermine faith in government just to make a name for oneself. official' or 'pentagon officials', or 'military anylists', you know something generic and vague so they don't have to actually present facts. Jones does present facts. Jones posts links to his evidence. But some of the other sources are independent as well. What "facts" ? I googled Alex Jones Fema Camps and got this: infowars link Alex presents newly exposed footage filmed at LAX airport in Los Angeles confirming a ‘rendition hub’ capable of processing thousands of people per hour from straight off the tarmac and other transportation points. Further, Alex dredges up video clips of other facilities used in the past for mass containment of dissenters His stuff is just patently ridiculous. Actually it does mean he is more independent. He calls the shots, it's his show. He gets money from selling his videos, which he actually encourages you to copy/pirate and distribute. He does not get money from sponsors, he gets money from his subscribers. And he doesn't lose credibility by lying, which an established agency does. The NYT employs fact checkers, legal experts to ensure that its facts can be verified. Do you seriously think Jones is even in the same business ? Judge Napolitano had his Freedom Watch show on Fox. When he started getting to the real nitty gritty stuff that is happening, his show got canned. Same reason Lou Dobbs was canned from CNN. Not because of low numbers, lost sponsors, damage to the brand or libel lawsuits - all of which damage the bottom line ? Quote Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase ! Michael Hardner
