US is being too loud.

Recommended Posts

Someone needs to build a sound barrier I think.

Feds are gonna need to cough up some dough for a sound barrier if the soundwaves are being transmitted through the ground?

None the less I wonder if the city can fine zug industries for noise bylaw violations?

Zug Island

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zug_Island

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/windsor/story/2012/01/30/wdr-windsor-hum-rumble-zug-island.html

"In 2011, the Zug Island area was identified by Canadian scientists as the source of mysterious rumblings and vibrations that have plagued hundreds of area residents with cyclical vibrations reportedly being felt in the ground up to fifty miles (eighty kilometres) away"

what are they building a giant tunnel to the center of the earth?

If you want full internet effect , put the caps on lock. Thats yelling, either way I laffed !

Oh, yeah. The caps. HOW COULD I HAVE OVERLOOKED THE CAPS?? My reputation as a "too loud American" is forever tarnished. :(

I have to say, though - I thought I'd "heard it all" about Americans, but "US is being too loud" was a new one on me. :D

I wonder.

It has been reportedly heard all over the world.

There have been reports of this all over the place. And the sound seems slightly different in all these cases. But yet sounds completely mechanical to me. I cannot account for natural sources to produce those kinds of sounds.

But it could all be a hoax where someone has just dubbed some freaky audio sound over the video. If I work at it enough, I can take a few sounds and use some effects to make it sound like that.

This is in the news and would have to be "hoaxed" by 900+ people.

I am just saying the hoax is a possibility, which should be considered. The one strange thing reported is that this sound does not seem to come from a specific or general direction. It surrounds you everywhere.

I'm from Windsor and we still visit there often. This is a very real problem. You don't know how bad it is until you experience it. People quite literally are being kept up at night from the noise and rumbling.

Just another reason that Windsor sucks? I live about one mile from a gravel pit operation that existed long before housing development. We kept hearing a very low frequency rumbling noise on the graveyard shift, and it was worse (louder) during summer when windows are open. The enraged citizens were somewhat placated once they knew what the noise was and when it would happen. Not knowing what it was is part of the anxiety.

Turns out it was the grinding and smashing of a huge "rock crushing" machine. Then we all went back to sleep.

There are some complaints about the large wind turbines as well. The blades create a low vibrational shockwave that rumbles and is quite loud even when a couple KMs from the turbines.

I have always been aware of noise pollution. This planet is quite freakin noisy.

There was this girl in my university class once and she was from Texas and she never shut up, always making comments to the teacher (though put her hand up and was otherwise polite). She was kinda hot too. This is kinda related to the thread right?

There were Americans on some program at my university. It must have been some outreach program because they were the most obnoxious tool boxes. Making fun of the professor, shouting down his response... maybe it's because they came from Detroit.
