William Ashley Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 (edited) Before it was sorta the parliamentary hansard but I stumbled upon this today and I was queried. http://www.termiumplus.gc.ca/tpv2guides/guides/tcdnstyl/index-eng.html?lang=eng It was like God answered my question about what way I should write seven-course, and solve the split between British and American compound adjectives. Such as... British American instil instill I went here: http://www.termiumplus.gc.ca/tcdnstyl-chap?lang=eng&lettr=chapsect3&info0=3#zz3 I was kind of hoping it gave an official Canadian government position on whether to use "organize" or "organise" but it mostly just concludes that you should check the dictionaries I mentioned after listing those distinctions. A totally sensible position, mind you, but much less exciting. (And, yeah, I'm aware of all those distinctions after living in the US and generally being a nerd.) I will continue to use both "harmonize" and "analyse", RCM style. Edited October 26, 2011 by Evening Star Quote
Bryan Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 Not sure what the OP's confusion is. A specific Canadian writing style is hardly a new thing. When I was in University, we were supposed to use "The Portable Canadian Handbook" as a guide. Quote
