the religious and nationalistic right are taking a backseat to the majority of israelis who are demanding changes in the status quo. what started as a protest against high living costs has evolved into something more. people are demanding social justice. for the first time in a long time, arab israelis are protesting alongside jewish israelis.

In response, Netanyahu has appointed a special committee to address the protesters' demands.

The demonstrators have rejected all the reforms offered thus far by the government and have called for a million-person march in 50 cities across the country on Sept. 3.

Exactly...

The grass roots movement has tapped into a wider sense of frustration over an eroding middle class and growing gaps between rich and poor.

...this is being reported more and more in the west all the time.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

Just hope that the Jewish spring generates just a few hard nose conservatives that are capable of protecting Israel in the future...but seeing gayification and other liberal ideology has infected the holy land - the next generation might facilitate the decline and fall of this fledgling nation.

Shame on you, Oleg! It's common knowledge that the biggest boosters of gay rights are the Arab states in that region!

If Israel decides to go down that road we all know that the Palestinians and other Arab radicals will lay down their weapons and offer Israel a big hug!
