Topaz Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Harper hads made Baird the House Leader, Jay Hill is/has left the party and Strahl is taking over Transport and the Parl. Sec of Indians Affiars is taking over as minister. The way Baird has acted this last session, he doesn't deserve the job. It isn't a wonder Canada is so messed up with the three left-over Harris guys running the country. http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/article/844706--baird-named-house-leader-in-mini-shuffle Quote

Shakeyhands Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 We should have a count down to see how long it takes until his head explodes... Probably part of Harpers plan to cause an election. Baird doesn't have the tempermant to handle this role. Me thinks we'll see some good stuff in the media soon. Quote "They muddy the water, to make it seem deep." - Friedrich Nietzsche
Mr.Canada Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Baird did a great job in Transport last session. Was fluid, answered questions, was accessible to the media all the time. Was basically Deputy PM the whole time. He's a passionate man, he loves this country. We need more politicians with his amount of heart leading this country. Not more aristocrats looking down their noses at us from Oxford and Harvard. Quote "You are scum for insinuating that isn't the case you snake." -William Ashley Canadian Immigration Reform Blog
Smallc Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Yes, his appearance at committee was his crowning achievement in the role. Quote
Mr.Canada Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Yes, his appearance at committee was his crowning achievement in the role. When I hear Rae or Ignatieff speak I cannot even tell if the like Canada at all. They speak so as a matter of factly that I wonder if they're talking about the morning nosh they just partook in. Devoid of any feeling or passion at all but their message is loud and clear. Increase spending to social programs, slash military spending and raise taxes for the middle class, the Liberal way. Baird comes off as arrogant, smart-mouth and a few other things like the most of the Tories. Quote

Increase spending to social programs, slash military spending and raise taxes for the middle class, the Liberal way. WHEN did Iggy say he would raise taxes on the middle class? I've heard him say he would raise the GST back up, only if the recession didn't correct itself and to try to get rid of the Tory deficit if he had too. The thing about social programs if the people are happy and content, then you have a happy country. Maybe you don't need the social programs but there are many that do. Consider yourself fortunate. capricorn Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 The thing about social programs if the people are happy and content, then you have a happy country. We'd better legalize pot soon. fellowtraveller Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 to try to get rid of the Tory deficit if he had too isn't that the same deficit Ignatieff insisted Harper create as part of The Great Coalition platform? Or is it another, more conveninet deficit? Quote The government should do something.
Smallc Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 The Great Coalition? Is that the new Tory talking point? Quote

Smallc Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 We could cal it Le Grande Coalition if you'd like. You do remember the Coalition, it was not that long ago..... I'm just wondering, since with falling poll numbers, Harper mentions the coalition every chance he gets. Quote

Jack Weber Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 Yes, it happens every time his poll numbers start to fall...except I don't think it works anymore. Well it works with the nutter base...But these are the same people who barely have a toe hold on reality as it relates to the census and the secretly created Canadian GESTAPO coming to get their guns because of the information they've devulged... Quote The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!
Jerry J. Fortin Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 Harper does react to polling information, that is clear. So would any government, it is how they react that counts. Quote
fellowtraveller Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 I'm just wondering, since with falling poll numbers, Harper mentions the coalition every chance he gets. Link to your data on Harpers comments? Or is that the 'anecdotal' part of your analysis? Cons were polling 62% in the days after the coalition was featured heavily in the media, with three Canadian political leaders grinning ear to ear a few weeks after losing at the polls. I guess that means 62% of Canadians are nutters who barely have a toe hold on reality. Quote The government should do something.
Smallc Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 I don't remember 60%...around 50% maybe. A great deal has happened since then. The UK now has a coalition government, and the Liberal party has a new leader. Harper (as he has been lately) is barking up the wrong tree. Quote
