Iraq, World was better off with Saddam!

Recommended Posts

This is the unfortunate conclusion. Saddam was a paper tiger to the world and was surrounded and controlled.

There's an obvious reason why Saddam controlled with an Iron Fist, if not, he would have been ousted long ago by the Iraqi's. There's an obvious hatred between the 3 Muslim groups and he kept order through his torturous tactics and spread fear for anyone to rise up (like they are doing to the U.S. now).

Perhaps not a bad idea to work out a deal with Saddam to come back and rule them (will never happen but, probably the best solution.)

The U.S. has now been exposed in Iraq through battle and not practicing what it preaches (tortures).

The tortures were the last of Bush's excuses for going to war with Iraq about how there would be no more of Saddam's ability to do this to his own people. Another black-eye along with no WMD and and no link to Al Qaeda and not getting Iraq's oil to pay the debt.

Time for new leadership to straighten Bush's war up.

Saddam was a paper tiger to the world and was surrounded and controlled.

How much does it cost to have over a hundred thousand troops parked and idling outside his borders to provide incentive to not attack other countries? Who was footing the bill for Saddam being 'a paper tiger?' How long were they supposed to stay there to make sure he was a 'paper tiger?' How many more resolutions were to be enacted to show him that nothing the UN did was a threat to him?

There's an obvious reason why Saddam controlled with an Iron Fist, if not, he would have been ousted long ago by the Iraqi's.

Wha...? The Iraqis? Oh sorry, you meant another ruthless dictator taking him out in a coup and then enacting the same poclicies that he had in place, using the same infastructure and most of the lower level members staying in place. For a minute there, I thought you meant a popular uprising or something idiotic like that.

To have our military in the Mid East was a plus for the American Govt. for obvious reasons.

Also the "Iraqi Food for Oil" Program funded the U.N. Weapons inspectors without $1 of American tax payers money.

All in all, it was a lot cheaper than this costly war, which they asked for another $25 Billion this week and that is only a small amount of which they need and didn't ask for more until after election time.

We've created even more instability, a Mecca for terrorists, they have less jobs, opened up the borders, created more Arabs to hate us, lost too many troops and money, and Rumsfeld "hopes" it works because there is still no plan......

So scince Saddam was a paper Tiger only because the US foot the bill to keep him and his sons and their sucessors perpetually contained you now bitch about the price for keeping him that way. Bush has enough and calls on the UN to help and they turn him down. For this and many other reasons he takes action to end it.

Just trying to figure you out here. I know you ddn't like Bush but then you don't have any solutions either.

Got it. You're John Kerry!

Bringing in Kerry would have America, "Under New Management," which helps give a fresh start to revive crediblity and diplomacy having Bush and Co. doing a great job of ruining that through arrogance....that, in and of it's self, is enough to get things moving in the opposite, positive direction. Bush has been a spiral down and would fit in as a weatherman, his predictions never come true....

Very thought provoking. And true in many cases. But many feel that Bush is doing a good job though, and are more afraid of a new leader and the unstability it brings whoever and whatever that new leader is. Take a look at the stocks of a major corporation when there is a leadership change, they plummet as strategic interests abhore change in any form.

As well, Kerry is so undefined that it should raise alarm bells in even the most anti Bush radical. With no strategy made public he could be worse and contrary to what many believe, there is a lot worse than Bush out there. Want to take a real chance? Vote for Kerry and his 'mystery solutions' in a time where things are already tense.

A solution might be for Kerry to get some real policies together as it wouldn't take a lot to sway fence sitters to his side and another might be for him to spend less time bashing Bush and more showing his concern for the ??? policies and people that those ??? policies will affect. All your country needs is a viable alternative to Bush and he would be out I think. So far, none have appeared.

And yes, I agree. Bush out with a viable alternative would provide a leadership change that would provide the opportunity to attack this problem on maybe not a clean slate but with new policies that have a chance of being believed.

Yet again this morning, the new Iraqi President was killed in a bombing and this continues to prove my theory that Saddam had to rule with absolute power and fear in order to last in the jungle.

It's not really a theory BushMG, it's a fact that in a places where there is archeic systems that have been virtually unchanged while the population increases to modern levels, only brutal people can lead or govern.

That said, I take it that you are commenting that whatever the US tries to do is folly? Better to leave them all to degenerate into hell right? At what point do you think they will have had enough 'degeneration' and decide to take it upon themselves to come to the west and 'git some?' Would letting the pot simmer and boil for decades make it easier to deal with?

Maybe if we resurecdted Chamberlain and had him go make a peace pact with Al Queda things would be ok. On second though, Spain has kinda done that and their reprieve has only a month left ticking before the attacks on her commence again.
