This is too funny i mean really!!

This little piss hole of a man is going to get his country wipe off the face of the earth if he doesn't come around..........but then again maybe that is a good thing time to deal with idiotic country once and for all!

N Korea is challenging Obama they think he doesn't have the Balls to stop them, they knew Bush did!

Obama needs to send them a strong message maybe like blowing that ship the U.S. Navy is tracking out of the water, that might grab their attention!!

It is not a small thing to go to war with a nuke capable country - especially one that borders China.

That may be an extreme comment but remember - do anything to these guys and it will come back in spades - of that you can be sure

It is not a stable regime and to date the US has played the game admirably - if it gets out of hand it will be very bad indeed

This in not little Johnny down the road that will send his Dad over to beat your Dad - this is a madman - and his replacement will possibly be even worse.

How far are you willing to go?

Still barely so. They have few nukes, their nukes are small, and their delivery systems are not yet fully operational. We are in the very last years of military intervention being possible.

China keeps them sort of under control - are you planning to be there when that small one goes off?

Force is not simple - do it and China will step in

Obama does not have the capabiity or courage to go this route - perhaps a good thing - and their country is max'd out - a bad thing - and the rest of Europe are for the most part plain out and out cowards. Yeah, if I speak you want answers and if I say it without proof you laugh - but for the most part it is true - Europe = untrustworthy bastards.

It is already too late - and you can be sure Canadians will howl in protest as there is no direct effect on them from Korea

In the end one cannot be cavalier about this type of situation

One artillery nuke will do a lot of damage - which sons and daughters do you pick to be killed?

I serve in the middle east now and even in my fairly safe place we had some "fun" today.

Heart pumps fast - sometimes those who advocate war should come to the front with those who fight it.

Probably be a lot less war.

Not advocating it. Just saying that if it were necessary, the window of opportunity is fast closing. Once they have a more robust nuclear arsenal, one which could not be easily and quickly taken out of the picture with covert ops, bombing, etc, they will be effectively immune from military intervention short of a nuclear exchange, which is obviously something that we absolutely do not want.

China's ability (and desire) to intervene on North Korea's behalf is not unlimited. As the threshhold approaches in which their running interference would make them culpable in whatever atrocity may follow, the chances of them giving a green light for North Korea to be dealt with, publicly or secretly, is going to go up. Probably (hopefully) way up.

N Korea is challenging Obama they think he doesn't have the Balls to stop them, they knew Bush did!

Although George Bush called North Korea part of the "Axis of Evil", he largely ignored them during his rule and did not seriously attempt to engage in dialog or develop any kind of treaties. This gave them lots of time and freedom to develop their nuclear weapons technology. They first tested a weapon in an underground explosion on Oct. 9 2006- during the time Bush was president. The evidence points to Bushes ideology of distancing the US from their enemies, as part of the reason why the world is less safe today.

No such thing as half true...either false or true--Half truths are a liars greatest and most precise tool of deception....if they are not - then half truths are generated by a half wit....I know that - bcause I do it. It's a mixture of a case of lazyness and prejudice...which is a choice called ignorance.

Still barely so. They have few nukes, their nukes are small, and their delivery systems are not yet fully operational. We are in the very last years of military intervention being possible.

The day they detonated their first nuke and launched a missile over Japan was the day that the possibility of military intervention ended, leaving only negotiation and diplomacy as the only viable options.....that and trying to whack the entire leadership structure of North Korea in one fell swoop.

Depending on the variant (two or three stage), the North Korean Taepo Dong II has an estimated range of somewhere between 4000 kilometres (2500 miles) and 4500 kilometres (2800 miles) with a maximum payload of 500 kilograms (1100 pounds) at max range usage, more then enough to carry a fairly primitive nuclear device in the kiloton yield range. In 1951, the US Mark-7 nuclear device weighed in at approximately 1500 lbs and had an explosive yield of 20 kilo tons. The missile base in Dongchang-ri has launched these missiles, including one placing a satellite into orbit and major Japanese cities as well as all of South Korea are well within range.

And while the current generation of Taepo Dong II's still cannot reach Hawaii, Alaska is almost within range. The average US citizen may take some comfort in the fact that if nuclear war was to break out between the US and North Korea, that they are for the most part safely out of range, the same cannot be said of the citizens of South Korea, Japan and possibly Australia. Even if North Korea has only one ready to launch Teopo Dong II and a nuke to carry, that is one too many. If war was to break out and the North Koreans launched a nuclear armed missile striking Seoul, or Tokyo or even Sydney, a US victory would be one of a Pyrrhic nature. And this is what the North Korean leadership is banking on.

Say what you will of Kim Jong-il, he is neither stupid or insane, a despot yes, but not stupid or insane. He is playing the odds, odds say that while the US is quick to attack a minor military power, but is loath to go head to head with a foe that is capable of hurting them badly. By having even a couple of nukes are his disposal, he knows that the US will at most fume and rave but will not act aggressively. This allows him to make threats and to use his perceived insanity and weapons as a bargaining chip to win concessions from us.

The Problem with N Korea is it's not a matter of "if" it is a matter of "when"! N Korea Is going to start a war one way or the other, the country is run by a complete nut with little man syndrome.... If the U.S. waits it will have to deal with a more dangerous Nuclear armed country who will likely attack S Korea or Japan sooner or later anyway.....The world tried to wait Hitler out because nobody wanted to deal with the horror's of war but in the end they had to do it anyway and who knows more probably died because of it. Better to take N Korea out now when they are barely Nuke Capable rather than wait and have to go to war with them when they can hit the U.S.with dozens of Nukes and Kill millions.........China will likely stay out of it they are building their economy and are on their way to being a world power i doubt they would risk all that for N Korea! China wouldn t like it and will stamp their feet but privately they would be just as happy to see N Korea gone as well!

The U.S. could take N Korea out with an all out first strike launched from Submarines off the coast, they could deliver Nuclear Packages with in minutes and totally cripple the North Koreans within an Hour. If i were Obama

i wouldn t wait to long besides if the U.S. doesn't intervene... the Japanese sure as hell will, they have already started rearming!

N Korea might be a blight - and an irritation-- with even a nuke they are not a formidalbe enemy for any super power...kind of like a nasty punk with a sharp knife - he may cut you but he will still have the snot beat out of him ---look at the leadership there....what is there to be afraid of? America could send in some old fashioned cruise missles unannouced and unless the fat little guy is in his bunker - the administration would be toast---sure China might even send a thank you card - maybe....no one is quite sure how China will react...that's the real problem..Korea is a third rate wanna be contender...China is not.

Concessions from "us"...who are you kidding? Canada has no offensive skin in this game. The United States is not materially threatened by the DPRK's present capabilities, but certain allies are.

They think so.....it's 1951 all over again. Remember, Canada didn't want to go.

I was a year old. What's there to remember other than my mother putting hot mustard..on her bobb to get rid of me ---still love spicey food...thats another story - Saw a documentary last night on Korea...old soldiers going back to vist ---nothing has changed --- the old guys commented that the hills they fought for remained the same - no development...static - and Korean military acting like it was 1951...oddest thing... But you are right there BC - it reminded me of unfinished buisness - like a war that entered a time warp and frooze ---waiting for some one to press the re-start button.

It's like a Hoolywood sequel.....KOREA: Unfinished Business...updated with the latest special effects and nukes. The odd part is that Kim is a devoted fan of American pop culture.....go figure.

A video game with great graphics - scarey...he may like pop culture until he becomes the anti-hero in a real bad movie. What worries me is that all the weapons boys all over the world are evalutating the feasiblity of waging war for profit and fun --maybe all sides concerend are drawing up some rutes for the big game...and Kim does not realize one thing - HE IS NOT IN THE LOOP and will be unpleasanly surprised when everyone starts to use his fat ass for target practice...It may be a well controlled and orchestrated event - to bad if it happens that a million miserable people will suffer and die...dumb Kim...he just does not understand the system..he's from an age where the guy with the shinnests sword is the hero.......what is being discussed and arranged is how to contain the killing field - that's it - no one wants him around.

Nah...this is small potatoes compared to the Soviets....it would be a shame to waste expensive weapons on North Korea. Saddam thought he was a bad ass too....for a while.

What - suddenly your weapons are too good to waste? You are getting pretty upity there bud..like who is worthy of the great golden American bullet.....someone should send Kim that message -

Sorry Kim - it's a no go - we don't think your miserable rock pile is worth blowing up....reminds me of how the communists would line up three people to be shot with on round.....that would be quite the insult...."a man not worth killing.....getting back to Saddam ---as he exited Kuiat...he really believed he was in the gangster loop and no one would bother him - let alone spray the republican guards from the air like roaches....no man in his right mind would have exposed them in such a manner...and they were slaughtered.

It really isn't.....even China would rather this regime just collapse...except for one issue.....China and South Korea don't want their borders overrun by millions of refugees. Remember West Germany.....they had second thoughts about their deadbeat commie cousins too.

Biden said that Obama would be tested.....way to go Joe!
