bush_cheney2004
The last Nimitz class supercarrier was commissioned today at Norfolk, VA. Named for President George H. W. Bush, he got to attend his namesake's commissioning ceremony: It was sunny, but a chilly breeze blew across the deck of the ship as the president, his father and their wives got off the helicopter with their wives. The elder Bush, sporting a purple scarf inside his overcoat, walked with a cane from the helicopter to a golf cart. He got in the back seat with former first lady Barbara Bush; the president grinned and waved as he took the driver's seat with his wife by his side. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,479087,00.html Due next.....the Gerald R. Ford class supercarrier for 2015. These instruments of power projection have been a US mainstay since WW2, and there is no sign of a policy change or reduced faith in sea power.
