wulf42 Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 Maybe in the end for security it would be better, maybe in order to make North America strong again it has to come to that...just thought i would throw the question out there. http://www.unitednorthamerica.org/ Quote

wulf42 Posted November 30, 2008 Author Report Posted November 30, 2008 NO! Well i am not real keen on it either but we can't seem to agree on a leader anyway's and as we have seen in India terrorism isn't going to go away maybe some kind of Union would be of benefit and like it or not i think it will eventually happen anyway. They are mad about the Ira war, Blackwater, Bush, cheney. The money for terorism came from washington and that is what they are fighting. Quote
LesterDC Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 Ideally, it would be a good idea.. However, in reality, if this were to happen, say good bye to Canada, Canadian sovereignty and the Parliamentary system. Quote

Well actually..it is Pakistan sending terrorists into their old arch enemy India, while it is true they did target Westerners they killed mostly Indians. Quote
Kenny Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 This just might be the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Quote

However, in reality, if this were to happen, say good bye to Canada, Canadian sovereignty and the Parliamentary system. True, but now that the U.S. has a good President it might be a good thing....look around you Canada is crumbling around us ,our medical system is failing...our social net is failing...Quebec wants to separate and Alberta is making rumblings about it....it might make a strong North America. LesterDC Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 we could call it Canadica or Canarica lol.. The United Confederation of Canarica Go U.C.C.! Quote
wulf42 Posted November 30, 2008 Author Report Posted November 30, 2008 This just might be the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Well its not the first time its come up and even politicians have mentioned it in the past. Quote

Sure, things aren't looking very good right now.. But you know what? We are a sovereign nation. We will see good times and bad times; merging with the United States is not the answer.. We have been around since 1867 and we have had our share of tough times - this is no different. Quote

Smallc Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 True, but now that the U.S. has a good President it might be a good thing....look around you Canada is crumbling around us Umm, no its not. Sorry to break it to you, but many of the things you say aren't true for the whole country or even most of the country. The medical system is getting worse in some places and better in others (from what I here from many, its better for the most part, I know it is here), the social net isn't failing at all, we are still in relatively good financial shape, and Quebec is still part of Canada and so is Alberta. Canada isn't crumbling. Quote
LesterDC Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 How about Americana...lol? more Canada and less America please Quote

Well we have no real leadership at this point,we are like a ship with a broken rudder drifting. Now the Liberals and the NDP even the BLoc (which shouldn't have a say in anything since they are trying to destroy this country anyhow) are trying to bring down Harper and Harper is trying to stop them! if the Conservatives tries to put legislation through the NDP and Liberals squash if it! even if they did agree with it and nobody is running the friggin country! johhny Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 (edited) My main concern is: take the Iraq war for example would you have wanted to be forced into that war? we would have as a NAU. I also have concerns about private millitary like Blackwater even though harper signed a bill to allow blackwater to move into Canadian teritory shoot and kill anyone they choose as they are not governed or held accountable under any laws. 3rd issue the American debt they say by 2040 they will not even be able to pay the interest on the debt they have, do you really want part of that? LesterDC Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 right! okay how about Canerica...lol? The best name would probably be Canerdica.. The United Confederation of Canerdica, pronounced CAN EIR DEE KA Anyhow.. Canada has been in and out of crap before, we will pull through.. Quote

No! of course not but at that time of the Iraq war they had an idiot for President, now they have Obama which i believe will turn their economy around and end the war in Iraq. Exactly, NAU would be waving good bye to Canadian sovereignty. Besides, if it was such a good idea, why not hold a vote on it? Quote

Hope your right because right now i have no faith in ANY of our leaders at all! they are all to busy trying to get each other rather than run a country that is sliding deeper into recession everyday! I would like to see Obama in action first before I make that decision. If your really interested in this you can find on government sites info on it. In alberta we already completed the CANAMEX highway wich is part of the Nafta super highway and by 2020 we will have the pacific coridor done where they will allow mobilized workers and goods to move free flow threw Canada, cheap labour is to build the oilsands. Port Alberta will be a HUB at the international Airport for both coridors. They also developed the SuperNet wich will allow them to remove boarders they are done testing and are building the infastructure as we speak. It would be also interesting to research the SPP as this has been the groundwork for the NAU Edited November 30, 2008 by johhny Quote
