from the Huffington Post: The price tag on the Liberal program has been pegged at as much as $1.2 billion over the next six years, according to a document obtained last week by The Canadian Press. The Liberal platform only booked $250 million for the program. "Premiers and mayors are justifiably wondering how the federal government is going to pay for it,'' said NDP Leader Tom Mulcair.

So much for being different, http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canada/500k-federal-ad-campaign-to-tout-refugee-plan-as-a-national-project-document-reveals though $500,000 isn't a lot, maybe the liberals are getting a discount after all it's important to tell us what we are supposed to be, "demonstrate Canada’s compassionate values and re-affirm our global leading role in refugee resettlement." Canada is back, or at least the liberals telling us what Canada is, is.

This PC nonsense will penetrate the real world and we will have to spend the next 40 years working in an environment that requires 'safe spaces' and any comment can be turned offensive. Work will become a solitude environment where it is easier to avoid talking to everyone to prevent upsetting the few.

What’s a fair salary for a fourth-grade teacher? Think of someone with about 10 years’ experience who works standard teacher’s hours, and has lots of paid preparation time, good benefits, job security and summers off. Does $94,707 sound about right? That’s what elementary teachers at the top of the scale make at the Toronto District School Board. - Globe

Corruption is a strong word, which we don’t often use in Canada when it comes to politics. It infers a blatant disregard for honesty, ethics or principle. But it’s the word that springs to mind when you contemplate the insidious relationship between Ontario’s Liberal government and the teachers unions they do so much to cultivate and please.

Greedy Ontario teachers made secret deal with Liberals for raise. Money taken from fund for special needs children to help them graduate is going to increasing teachers salaries instead

So here's how it works in Ontario. The Liberals offer up kickbacks to the public service unions, along with ever increasing salaries, and at election time, the unions pay for pro-Liberal advertising and make sure they send lots of volunteer workers to help the Liberals campaign. This ought to result in mass arrests, but somehow it's all legal.

Not good news for Harper as he continues to support Canada's air war. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/up-to-27-iraqi-civilians-may-have-been-killed-in-canadian-airstrike-pentagon-document-reveals-1.3213917

http://www.reddeeradvocate.com/opinion/Harper_deserves_praise_322762791.html One of the most baffling developments in the current Canadian political arena is the amount of pure hatred and anger directed at Prime Minister Stephen Harper. The reasons behind the contempt are well beyond the realm of rational thought and are firmly based in an irrational assessment of this man and his leadership.

You know how Harper tries to pass off his massive cuts to environmental protection as simply reducing red tape? Well as it turns out that is a lie. Very few building projects around and over water now require environmental assessment. Water quality is in decline and fish habitats are suffering. Is anyone actually surprised? http://www.vancouversun.com/technology/story.html?id=11332148
