I see you need a crash course in whowhereology - and believe me, I am not making this one up. At the start is a irrefutable fact. In 1755, while being an officer in the British colonial forces, Geroge Washington wrote a document, now preserved and all, in which he made a reference to the Canadians, as the settlers of French descent living in New France were then known. That's a fact, And here are the conclusion whowereologist (yep, in the singular, because only one person holds these views) draw from this historical document: 1) George Washington applied the word Canadian as meaning New France settlers of French descent, so anyone who claims that today the word has another meaning is wrong, is guilty of falsely calling George Washington a liar, and is a British revisionist to boot. 2) That same document by George Washington also proves that the word "Canada" is of French origin, and that anyone who claims otherwise is wrong, and nothing more than an aboriginal revisionist with a grudge. 3) Jacques Cartier (the first man to have written the word Canada) was a French Christian man sent by a King reigning by divine right, therefore: 4) The word Canada cannot have an Aboriginal root, because First Nations didn't have an alphabet, and therefore didn't have a language (or, in alternate versions, have a language similar to that of the monkees). 5) The Aboriginals Cartier met only emitted sounds, like a crow, and therefore Cartier merely used his christian soul and his knwledge of the french language to interpret these sounds and come with a word, Canada. 6) People who point out that Cartier himself wrote "Ils appellent un village Canada' (They call a village Canada) just don't get the fact that, since Cartier wrote that sentence in French, the word Canada is entirely French in origin. 7) To doubt points 4, 5, and 6 is to call both Wshington and Cartier liars and, since Cartier was a Christian man sent by a Christian King reigning by divine right, it is also opposition to God and blasphemy. 8) The Bible is proof that God would have merely yawned if the French and Spanish conquerors had proceded with a genocide of First Nations, and that Aboriginals should be grateful that they still exist. As I said, I am not making this up.

Individual? In the singular? Are we talking about Sarah Palin's former brother-in-law, or one of her subordinate trying to push for his dismissal. If we are talking about the former brother-in-law, he doesn't belong in any police force. But his case was handled according to police procedure. Any involvement on this issue by the Governor and her staff after she was elected would, if proven, would show at best poor judgement on an issue that had "potential conflict of interest" written all over it, and at worse abuse of the powers of her office. Or are we talking an individual reporting to Palin? According to Walter Monegan, the former Public Satefy Commissioner, THREE appointees of Palin, plus her husband and herself, approached him regarding Palin's former brother-in-law, making it clear they didn't think the man should remain a state trooper. If all the facts have been released, why did a committee of the Alaska legislature voted UNANIMOUSLY to appoint an independant investigator? Why did the legislature's judicial committee issued a subpoena for Palin's husband to testify?

Want to revisit your imbecile theory that First Nations did not have a language and that they just emitted sound because their language didn't have a written form? And that it is made clear in the Bible, along with the fact that God would have just yawned if there had been a genocide in North America? Please don't. I for one want you to make a fool of yourself in new and original ways. And like it or not, Canada is an independant country. You would prefer to be an European, move there. Just don't tell them you are Canadian; I don't want us to lose the good reputation we have over there.

Thinks for reminding us that nobody (either Democrat or Republican) has tried to smear Obama with claims that he is a secret Muslim. And we all know that nobdy is watching Bidden like a hawk hoping to find some juicy and embarassing tidbits. But I must confess John McCain is a very smart guy. The Legislature investigation into Palin's alledged improprieties (which, shall it be reminded, was approved unanimously by a bipartisan committee) has barely started, and he's already happy with its conclusion.

And since there is no corrupt language policy in Ontario, you don't have a point. Delusions can be so tiring. That more than one Canadian choose French as their language is a government-created fact? And?? I am an Ontarian. Excuse me while I laugh. You forgot the part about NO LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH ON COMMERCIAL SIGNS, or does you delusion include a belief that I've forgotten about that part? About your delusional belief it exists and the FACT it doesn't. I don't. Look. You got two facts straight in two days. And of course, nobody should be denied health services in either English or French in Ontario. No more and no less that English-language universities, hospitals or schools in Quebec has a meaning to French speakers in Ontario. I DO know that the Russell by-law mandates the use of English and French. Youkeep ignoring half of the story. But I will give you a break. Your non-sense has gone from insluting to funny to boring. Let me know when you have something original to make a fool of yourself about. In the meantime, I'll exercise and enjoy my rights as a Canadian and an Ontarian. -
It is one thing to be like the ordinary folk, and we need more politicians with that type of background (preferably with out ultra-conservative viewpoints). It is another thing to be clueless about the issues that would face her if she became President. Ordinary folks do not have to settle issues regarding the country's health system; they don't have to make decisions regarding the national debt, they don't have to nominate Supreme Court judges, they don't have to respond to the terrorist threat and they will never have to sit across the Bering Strrait (err I mean the table) from an hostile leader armed with nuclear weapons. Which is not of course to say that someone has to be born in priviledge, to live in a cozy suburb or to prefer caviar to mooseburger to knooooow about the issues. But one still needs to understand the questions.

5 out 19 is my memory serves me well. Which is often enough. If Sarah Palin was a Democrat candidate, there would not be any of that "be nice to her, she's a woman from Alaska". She would be a "b*tch" from nowhere trying to usurp a man's job and who would need to be kept away from the Presidency and sent back to her kitchen.
-
Yep. people should go easy on her, after all she's just a woman. And of course that kind of attitude is not sexism.

"Originating from immigrants" is not the same is being an immigrant. As my culture and languages ARE Canadian, I do not need to assimilate into any other language or culture to be fully Canadian. I just appear to ignore the facts. You constantly do ignore all of them. Those two MYTHS have been debunked, but since you wish to make a fool of yourself by repeating them over and over and over, be my guest. Mark the day, you a got a fact. The myth that French is not a Canadian language has been debunked. The "you're not Canadian" myth again. So now you call it success? I still call it m*nure. A Canadian (more precisely an Ontarian) who actually has said before that he is no problem with English getting an official status in Ontario, but who unlike you KNOWS that such a status is quite different from laws banishing French from government services and banishing all languages except English from commercial signs. Don't worry, nobody expects you to get it. You call unfortunate something that does not exist, yet you want it to happen. Hypocrite. I know there is a French language Services Act, I'm the one who told you. As for knowing it is discriminatory, my knowledge of that is equal to my knowledge that the Earth is flat. Once again, my knowledge that municipal bilingual policies are discriminatory is equal to my knowledge that the Earth is flat. That mandate the use of English on commercial signs. I'll pass on the rest of the drivel. -

We're not The French language is neither obsolete or foreign, and you are the one whining constantly. And of course, your definition of "democratically implemented" is "anything that suppresses languages other than English. Looking at yourself in the mirror again, i see. nah... I'll just wait here in Ontario until you get your dream of having official language laws that discriminate, oppress and depress... But then, you'll never succeed. -
No Jail for Guelph Child Porn Girl

And here's the guy who believes slavery is a good thing striking again. As much as I dislike cops show, arrest of criminals is not a crime. Abuse of children is, and child porn is a direct product of that crime. And yes, those whoooo buy and view these products are encouraring their makes to keep producing them and keep abusing children. -
Palin is able to answer every question... by not getting a clue at first on what some of them are about.

Thanks for remind me once again that I am an immigrant to Canada, even though I am a 15th-generation Canadian. As for the "I am all for freedom bit", to fall for it I'd have to forget all of your statements advocating laws that would mandate English-only signs, and take away the right of Ontarians to choose by themselves, individually, the Canadian language they will be served in. -
The job of the VP is to step up in the President's chair if needed.
-
As Palin keeps not understanding questions, it will deny both parties the use of the experience factor. Mind you, I always thought "experience" is not a qualification. The job of President of the United States is unique... You don't get training and schooling for that.
-
You mean every time the Republicans bring the experience card, they contradict themselves. "We need someone with years and years of experience, but two years will do"
-
I find the practice mildly irritating, but all politicians do it.

Oh so now it's back to freedom of choice... A concept you claim you defend but would deny to people who choose not to use English on commercial signs. By the way, you know of course that the Russell by-law mandate the use of French and ENGLISH. Knowing that, I am sure that you will support the first business owner to openly defy the new by-law... he has placed an unilingual French sign. -
My point exactly.

I don't think she believes it either, but she should have been able to come with something better.
