The last refuge of the hateful. The same people who would trample without hesitation on other peoples' rights whine about being persecuted whenever anyone dares to tell them what they think. And don't serve me the "what about human rights tribunals" thing. No opinion should be banned unless it advocates murder.

 Don't worry, brainwashed is something that I am not about to accuse you of being. Being gay isn't an ideology either. The idea that Blacks should have equal right was and is an ideology. The racism and hatred in the Nazi ideology was right there for everyone to see. People decided to turn a blind eye to it. For people to see some dark attempt at destroying society (and who knows, turning everyone into gays?) in the struggle for equality before the law, that kind of thing would have to be there in the first place. BTW, demonizing the object of hatred with claims like "they gonna destroy us", "they want to control us", "they're the ennemy" was a characteristic of the Nazi ideology. I am not surprised that you adopt the same modus operandi.

Nice try. Those who in the 1920's and 1930's thought the Nazi ideology was one of progress either dismissed its inherent racism as inconsequential or actively espoused it. Homosexual acts carry a higher risk, and some homosexuals are self-destructive (in large part, because of self-hatred inflicted on them by the likes of you). But there is quite a different between knowing that fact and ranting that we are on the verge of a "gay society" with a "gay ideal". There is no such thing as a gay society. There is a society where gays are not treated like second class citizens. As for the so-called "gay ideal"; I'd like to know when and where gays have advocated that heterosexuals should become gays. Let me check... that's what I thought, never.

Pope reinstates bishop who denies the Holocaust

So, he mistakes the youth (10-14) branch of the HJ as not fully pat of the organization, and he gets the date membership became compulsory wrong. Frankly. Doesn't change the fact that membership was compulsory. Popes are human beings, with their weaknesses and their strenghts like anyone else. As for this Pope's life during the War, I think he would be the last one to say it was particularly heroic. Even the greatest saints had their less than heroic moments. He stayed away from HJ meetings and serve in an anti-aircraft battery. Not heroic, but certainly not the sign of a Nazi past, unless you have eviedence of involvement in war crimes. Considering that he has wrote extensively in defense of Nostra Aetate (the Vatican II document formally renouncing the view that Jews of all places and all times are Jew-killers), the claim that he personnally holds that position is to say the least, hard to believe. Bad enough that he does not view such a position or Holocaust-denial an obsticle to reinstate schismatic bishops. -

How about the bit about the Christ-killing Jews? Or babout how Muslims and Jews killing each others will result in more conversions? -
Anti-western, anti-jew sentiment alive and well in Canada.
CANADIEN replied to Chuck U. Farlie's topic in Religion & Politics
Ah, the good old days when proper health care was mostly for the rich, there was no racial policies except "non-White don't need bother showing up at the border", signs reading "no dogs or Chinese allowed" were commonplace, men could beat the wives and children as long as they didn't kill them, the gays were the closet and the Frenchies treated like if they were not Canadians, when practicing religion was something you had to do instead of something you decide to do. All that is missing is women barefoot and pregnant and Aboriginal children being beaten into assimilation. Ah, the good old days. -

I'll settle for them learning one of the two by the time they apply for citizenship. -

As the rest of your posting proves, you don't. My deepest apologies, I forgot to include something when I posted that. Let me correct it: Get it now? And I am still waiting for you to post the exact cluases in the Charter you claim are discriminatory. Could it be because you can't find the Charter? Here you go. -

CANADIEN replied to Chuck U. Farlie's topic in Religion & Politics
Actually, I recognize discrimination quite easily. It's when people are told they cannot/should not use their own language in advertising. When Canadians are told they should not be using the canadian language of their choice in communicating with the Federal government. It's when people are barred from entering this country just because they are not of the right place or the right skin color. It's when Aboriginal children are forced into residential schools. All things YOU advocate or approve of. -
recognizing the homophobia in what you write is not being brainwashed, it's seeing it for what it is. The goal of the Gay Rights movement is to obtain equality before the law for gays and lesbians. The same with the civil rgiths movement aimed for equality for Blacks. Perhaps it too compares to Nazism? The Nazi ideology was the most vile in history, based on pure hatred. It was responsible for the murder of 9 to 11 people. This is what you compare the gay rights movement too. Even the kindiest word I could think of to describe what I think of your opinion would likely be against the rules of the site.

Once again, you must have missed the postings where I said that homosexual acts are sinful. Reading does not seem to be your stronger skill when it stands in the way of your homophobia. Now, to quote one of your favorite lines, let's get back to the topic. Like it or not, gays have the right to be treated as full and equal citizens. Further, the Cathechism of the Catholic Church states that there should be no unjust discrimination against them. To compare calls for equal rights for homosexuals to what the Nazis did is beyond contemptable, and unworthy of a Christian. Considering that you were willing to accept claims that the nazis killed less than 1 million Jews, your support for that kind of statement comes to no surprise.

Pope reinstates bishop who denies the Holocaust
CANADIEN replied to jdobbin's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Joseph Ratzinger, now Benedict XVI, became a member of the Hitler's Youth at age 14; at that time, membership was mandatory for all Germans upon reaching that age, and he refused to attend any meeting. He was enrolled in the Army at age 16, and deserted at age 17. I am not the biggest fan of the current Pope, but the "Benny is a Nazi" line is getting a bit tired. -

Really, you must have missed those postings of mine stating my knowledge that life begins at conception. Or the one where I said that true marriage is between a man and a woman. As for being a ture Catholic... It is not compatible with being anti-Semite, homophobic and hateful. Three things you are proving to be about every time you post. BTW, before you speak of excommunication, do yourself a favour and go take a peak at the Code of canon Law. I did. -
The moderator can explain themseelves what they want removed from your signature. As for myself, I sure do hope they are not talking about this: I want that one to remain. No better proof of your homophobia and hatred. I'd say it's worthy of the toilet, but I am afraid that the toilet would sue me for diffamation.

Well, I am a Catholic and I for one I am not in favour of welcoming back the Lefebvre heretics at any cost, especially Holocaust deniers. -

Truths established by historians... real ones, not Holocaust deniers. By comparing the Jewish population before and after WWII, examing the records left by the Nazis (those they didn't destroy, that is), examining statements made vy Nazi officials both while free and in captivity, recording or examining testimonies left by the survivors. The claim that oonly a few hundred thousands Jews diied during WWII, and that tere was not a systematic attempts at extermining them is not just discussing or challenging known fact. It is an odious, hateful and racist LIE. -

You claim you "support the Jews"... while wishing they and the Arabs would just kill each others; blaning them as a whole for the death of Christ, and quoting numbers put forward by Holocaust deniers. Yeah right.. I sure would like to see where "the Red Cross" claims that there were only 1 million deaths in the camps. It is most certainly not on the Web of the International Committee of the Red Cross. Numbers quoted on their site do not add up to just one million. One example: 90% of more than 1.5 million... than more than 1 350 000 people right there, in one camp. Surely, the Red Cross would not be quoting such numbers if the KNEW they were overblown, now would they? As for the actual numbers, estimates range from 4 to 6 million Jewish victims, from all over Europe. Search Shoah and Holocaust, and you will get those numbers plenty of times. You may even find a 1956 quote from Adolf Eichmaann, the SS officer who was in charge of the logistics of the genocide, in which he expressed how happy he was to have killed 5 000 000 Jews. -

You have said THE jews killed Christ. You jave called Israel an apartheid State. You have said you didn't care if Jews and Arabs killed each others since less of them would lead to more conversations. Sounds pretty much like the type of person you call socialists. -

Thanks for proving, once again, that you don't have a clue. English translation please? BTW, good thing Al--Quaida has not found yet there is no need to throw bombs or fly planes into buildings to terrorize western societies. All they need to do is to come to Canada and start speaking French. And I am still waiting to see the exact text of the sections of the Charter you claim are discriminatory. Mind you, I know I'll be waiting for a long time because I know you can't find any. -

Obama orders trials halted in Gitmo
CANADIEN replied to Sir Bandelot's topic in Canada / United States Relations
To what questions did he allegedly provide false responses? And how did he allegedly look guilty? The one thing always put forward is "he described as a mere acquintance a man who signed on his lease and who once took a walk with him to the mosque after they run into each other at the mosque". I don't know about you, if I had met the brother of a friend at a few gatherings, if he had come to sign on my lease by my friend was not available, and if I ran into him at the subway station on my way to church once or twice, I too would prbably describe him as an acquitance. This is not to say that the RCMP should not had kept an eye on Arar when he came under their radar. Or that the Americans should not have asked him questions. But that's a far cry from arguing that he is largely responsible for the false accusations, attempts at portraying as a terrorist and above all the torture of which he was the victim. You mention Milgaard. There is also Morin, Marshall, Truscott. And many others who, like Arar, were persecuted for crimes they did not commit. All of them have done something, or been somewhere, that attracted police attention. Yet, nobody would say that tehy are mostly responsible for their ordeal. Only Arar.
