They took away the child fitness tax credit too.

Please. The Ladies in White are given far more leniency than they deserve. The protest gets dispersed, and the people get released. We should have more of that kind of protester crowd control here.

You'll notice that nothing you posted here actually pertains to the examples I actually wrote in my post.

Are Sexy Restaurant Outfits a Human Rights Issue?

They should be, but reality shows otherwise. -
Are Sexy Restaurant Outfits a Human Rights Issue?

Demanding sexy attire for a business that wants to project that image is exactly the same as a business demanding business attire in theirs. CHoose what you want to wear when you make your job choices, not after. -
Even here, democracy gets eroded with each new law that gets passed. If you're regulating what people can and cannot say, what products they are allowed to buy, or what they do in the privacy of their own homes, you cannot credibly claim to be running a free society.

No doubt. I'll never be as pretty as she is. -

Sure, but as BC-Chick has already said, the ways that men prefer to access those naked women has changed. -

If my dog can be in public wearing only a spiked collar, I should be able to too. -
Your Cell/Mobile/Handy number -the New Identifier
Bryan replied to August1991's topic in Health, Science and Technology
That isn't true. You can buy a cell phone as well as the minutes and data with cash and no ID at many gas stations and convenience stores. People who don't have credit cards, have no no credit history, or bad credit history do this all of the time. -
Nationalism is the doom of all politics...
Bryan replied to Scott Mayers's topic in Political Philosophy
Nationalism is not arbitrary. What matters most to people is what happens where they live. No matter how interested they might be in the well-being of others, that will always be secondary for any rational thinker. All politics is some degree of local. What happens in your own house is more important than what happens in the house next door. You have to have your own house in order to have any affect in helping others do the same.- 32 replies

Want to live in nice resort? Just murder someone

They are two separate issues. Capital punishment for heinous crimes is GOOD policy. You also have to be much better at avoiding wrongful convictions. -
Are Sexy Restaurant Outfits a Human Rights Issue?

If anything, it's the male patrons of these restaurants who are being exploited. They are the ones who are systematically being relieved of more of their money just by virtue of what the staff wear. -

Are Sexy Restaurant Outfits a Human Rights Issue?

In Mall of America last summer, there was a beauty salon that had an unusual staff member: a really buff young man wearing just his briefs, The women getting their hair done got to watch him ironing laundry in his underwear. Is that necessary for a hair salon? No. Is is offensive and sexist towards men? No. It was the job that was offered, and he applied for it. Don't want to work at a place that has sexy dress codes? Then don't -- go work somewhere else. -

Coddling criminals fullfulls some people's irrational need to be seen as compassionate instead of dealing seriously and intelligently with the crime that was committed. -
The Americanization of Canadian Politics
Bryan replied to August1991's topic in Canada / United States Relations
The two main parties run the electoral system without outside oversight, the whole game is rigged so as to never allow a third option a real chance. When Ross Perot got even a little bot of traction, they tightened things up even more to make sure that even that didn't happen again. A Reformer did. And the NDP made it to second place. Those kinds of things could never happen the way the US system is set-up -- it's institutionalized corruption. -

Only if you give it to them. My Google and Facebook IDs don't have any association to my cell phone or to any email that I use for anything personal. With Google, the gmail is the only contact info they have. I know several people whose Facebook accounts are completely fake. -
Elizabeth May Destroys Pipeline Arguments
Bryan replied to ReeferMadness's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Most of ALL of her arguments are nonsense. It's a rare day when she makes a cohesive argument that withstands even the mildest scrutiny. Today is not one of those days. -
Canadians FEAR Trump...Big Time
Bryan replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Lying doesn't make you a servant. Telling the truth about your intentions, even if it's not popular is far more serving. A person who only has power if the people decide to give it to him is not a dictator. -
Canadians FEAR Trump...Big Time
Bryan replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in Canada / United States Relations
I disagree with most of what Trump says, but I find the fact that he doesn't care what anyone thinks refreshing. Most politicians try to craft their words so that they are only saying what they think you want to hear -- often saying one thing to one group, and another thing to the next. I'd rather vote for someone who I know is telling me what he really means (even if I don't like it), than for someone who tells me what I like but doesn't believe his own words. -
Settled more aboriginal land claims than all previous prime ministers combined. More international trade agreements than all previous prime ministers combined. Most open and accountable government in Canadian history. Best fiscal manager in Canadian history.

Federal Budget 2016: Increase the Gasoline Excise Tax!
Bryan replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I don't think it's necessarily a bad idea to make paying tax a requirement to be able to vote. If you take more from the government than you give back, maybe you should be exempt from voting until that situation changes. Of course, that would also mean that government employees would all be exempt from voting too, since they take far more in from government revenues than they contribute to.
