A truly interested person will write an FOI or, at least, visit the website and start looking at reports. At the very least... As opposed to what?

Ford Outsources Business Card Printing to Family Company
Shwa replied to cybercoma's topic in Local Politics in Canada
Are you kidding me? Mayor Ford has every opportunity to be up front, play along, go along, make light of, joke and josh, with - instead: he hides. Uncovering all these Fordian mysteries is journalistic gold. Surely some handler in his office must have a clue. -
Then, having lived in Quebec and attended school there, your excuse for broken English is understandable because there are no provinces that make "using English a crime." Let me guess, a Beaconsfield grad right? Your sentence construction needs a little work, especially the logical part where you conclude from false permises. See here? More false premises, likely as a clever disguise to not know what you are talking about. Wait, let me guess again - D'Arcy Mcgee or Philemon Wright grad right? LOFL!

Yeah, but their business is selling newspapers and if they chose to use Mayor Ford as a selling point, the ball is all in his court. Just like the entire Warrior Princess fiasco. Sometimes buffoons sell newspapers. -
Come on now. If you choose to keep the lights off, don't complain about being in the dark. There is plenty of information about CIDA projects, success criteria and results and the more interested you become in those sectors, the more you will understand.

Aw, there, there. All I have said - which you amply prove below - is that you have no clue as to what our foreign aid is all about, why CIDA does what CIDA does and can only elaborate on the points already given in a "news" story. More parrot asking for more crackers. Your clueness is all in the OP. Grumpy old parrot syndrome. Pfft. Hardly. It's not my fault you don't know how to use the Internet yet. More parrot discourse proving you have no clue as to how Canadian foreign aid investments work, why CIDA does what CIDA does. Why don't you use the Internet to find out instead of swinging back and forth on your little perch reciting the same request for a cracker over and over?
-
Well the masses media is sure paying attention to them now aren't they? Little groups of people getting attention from major, national media outlets. Not bad for a first crack at the old not-thinking-it-through strategy. Not as long as any can say they have the right for peaceful assembly and association. Of course you don't. Gramps didn't like all them dang hippie protesters neither.

Then fair is fair. And, as you put it, even the bad publicity from the Star is good for Ford, so why the complaints? -
What is "patently clear" is that you have no clue as to how foreign aid works or for what purposes and I bet you don't even know what CIDA is all about, never have bothered to see what programs are being invested in nor have a single idea about why CIDA exists in the first place. It is "patently clear" that you cannot raise discourse above the level of a colourful little parrot. Peeves wanna a cracker?

There doesn't seem to be a realistic goal, and there no end date, but what is their "general message?" You want a big hammer single issue protest, but lookie, the damned kids have gone and changed the rules again. Perhaps you are behind the times gramps, this isn't your 60's & 70's anymore and no one is naive enough to expect change in big chunks unless it comes in viral form.
-
Geez, it almost sounds like we are handing them a bag of money. Are we handing them a bag of money Peeves? Is that how the Canadian International Development Agency works? They go into these countries and just hand them big bags of money? Is that how you perceive it?
-
They could have probably hired a security firm for much less since the Vancouver Occupy protests appear to be fairly peaceful. Unlike the Stanley Cup riots, which cost millions in damages and, oh, how much have they spent so far with all the investigations into that with no arrests?
-
Indeed, the insight actually gained is about the calibre of person who would generalize about a large group of people based on the actions of one of them. Then again, we have the Vancouver riots over a hockey game which cost millions in damages, but people fret about a lawn being used for tents.

All provinces make using the English language a crime, at least in the way you have constructed this sentence. I see that you know practically nothing about the education system in Quebec so your opinion makes you out to be nuts.

Gosh, one would think that there is no such thing as bad publicity. Ford wants to feud with the Star, he pays the price, it is his own doing. If you don't like it, boycott the Star. There are plenty of other media outlets that will carry the latest news about Kim Kardashian or Justin Bieber. -
Pffft. With modern health care we are here for a long, long time. That makes me happy and pisses me off at the same time.

Former Penn State football coach charged with sex crimes

Are you kidding me? Are you telling me that he was too old to understand the difference between sexually assaulting children and the usual routine sex assault and battery associate with college football? C'mon man! -
Blair wins: Ford poised to accept police budget hike

What's with the cranky old man righties and their lonely, guilt-ridden mind masturbation in the back closet? One of the reasons they are considered old, bitter whack-jobs. -

The Star has no reason to apologize to Rob Ford for anything. They are just reporting the news. And with the little delay between incurring the debt with City money and then, eventually, after it appears in the newspapers, paying it back - it looks negative all by his worships own hand. Rob Ford’s freeze out Ford allies shelve ‘free press’ motion If the Mayor wants to be selective, all bets are off. The more revealing and embarassing antics the Star digs up, the better. -

Now we'll all get to wear beaver wear everywhere, courtesy of Parks Canada: Parks Canada to launch beaver-centric merchandise line What I like though is how truly versatile the beaver is: I've seen excited and flexible beavers before, heck I've seen stuffed beavers, but I can't say I have ever seen a sombre one. And, no doubt, next October they will come out with a line of pink beavers. Congrats Parks Canada! If there is one thing Canada needs now, its more beaver.
