I am aware of that accusation. I am also aware that Dershowitz strongly denied her claims and that witness admitted that she may have made a mistake. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/epstein-victim-drops-lawsuit-lawyer-alan-dershowitz-rcna56250 Big surprise! Defense lawyers often represent reprehensible clients like Epstein.

The fix is in for Hunter Biden
ironstone replied to West's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The law isn't really applied equally in the US. Over the weekend, thousands of pro-Hamas protesters, many of them masked and some wearing green Hamas headbands, descended on Washington, D.C., surrounding the White House amid chants calling for a victory of “jihad or martyrdom.” At one point, protesters with tents set up an encampment on the Ellipse, while others defaced and vandalized historic statues, including the Andrew Jackson and Marquis de Lafayette statues in Lafayette Square. At one point, protesters screaming “F-ck the police!” and “Kill yourselves!” chased U.S. Park Police and Secret Service out of the square after officers tried to arrest someone, after which the square was completely controlled by the protesters. No arrests were made. The day before, on the other side of the country, three teenagers in Spokane, Washington, were arrested on felony charges for driving their scooters over a painted “pride” crosswalk and leaving some tread marks on the mural. Anybody on the left notice something here? I wonder what would have happened if Hamas supporters left marks with their scooters over a 'pride' crosswalk? https://thefederalist.com/2024/06/11/unequal-application-of-the-law-in-america-today-isnt-hypocrisy-its-hierarchy/ -

I am surprised by this verdict to be honest. What kind of sentence gets imposed is another matter entirely. Many on the left are saying that this guilty verdict proves that nobody is above the law. Not quite. Remember that the only reason that this trial happened is because Judge Maryellen Noreika rejected the first deal for Hunter which apparently might have given him immunity from this and all other charges. They tried to sweep this under the rug but this judge was a fly in the ointment. And don't forget that the DOJ also slow-walked charges against Hunter for his tax evasion habit. A whistleblower from inside the Internal Revenue Service has spoken publicly for the first time about a highly sensitive political probe he has supervised, which CBS News has determined is the ongoing probe into the finances of President Biden's son Hunter Biden. He said he became so concerned about prosecutors' handling of "a high profile, controversial" investigation that he felt duty-bound to sound alarms. "There were multiple steps that were slow-walked — were just completely not done — at the direction of the Department of Justice," said Gary Shapley, a 14-year veteran of the agency, who spoke exclusively to CBS News chief investigative correspondent Jim Axelrod on Tuesday. "When I took control of this particular investigation, I immediately saw deviations from the normal process. It was way outside the norm of what I've experienced in the past." These charges against Hunter had him dead to rights, no twisting and convoluting required, as was done against Trump in New York. -
Are you saying that you think Republicans are worse than Hamas?

How do you explain what happens when gay pride meets pro-Palestinian/Hamas? That's got to be so awkward for the left?

The DOJ is apparently using a laptop as part of their case against Hunter. I guess this would be the same laptop that they and the media had described as Russian disinformation. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/it-only-took-4-years-doj-finally-acknowledges-hunter-laptop-is-legitimate-for-first-time/ar-AA1ncGMI Has anyone from the left come clean and admitted that we were right about this story all along?😜 Hunter is the favorite son of Delaware's favorite son so what is this jury most likely to do? -

So why does it not matter? Are you not even the least bit curious to know what they do in return for all that money? Hunter seems to be the main bag man and I am still waiting to hear why anyone would want to pay a crackhead millions of dollars. -

https://thefederalist.com/2024/06/10/spotify-gears-up-to-silence-political-opponents-under-guise-of-election-integrity/ The Federalist, The Daily Wire, and the state of Texas are plaintiffs in a lawsuit alleging that the U.S. State Department is violating the U.S. Constitution through its funding of technology that silences Americans who question government claims. My Federalist colleague Joy Pullmann reports: Through grants and product development assistance to private entities including the Global Disinformation Index (GDI) and NewsGuard, the lawsuit alleges, the State Department “is actively intervening in the news-media market to render disfavored press outlets unprofitable by funding the infrastructure, development, and marketing and promotion of censorship technology and private censorship enterprises to covertly suppress speech of a segment of the American press.” The lawsuit aims to stop the government from using its counterterrorism centers in “one of the most audacious, manipulative, secretive, and gravest abuses of power and infringements of First Amendment rights by the federal government in American history.” -

https://thefederalist.com/2024/06/06/from-lawfare-to-bidenbucks-democrats-2024-election-rigging-is-already-worse-than-2020/ Upon taking office, Biden issued Executive Order 14019 which essentially directs federal agencies to use taxpayer funds to interfere in elections. One agency by which this is being done is the Department of Education (DOE), for example. The DOE issued a memo in February announcing Federal Work-Study funds could now be used to employ students at government agencies to register voters or serve as poll workers. College-aged students and recent graduates are statistically far more likely to be Democrats. In addition to the DOJ’s role in the get-Trump lawfare, Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland has declared the department would challenge state laws related to voter ID requirements or safeguards put in place for mail-in ballots and the use of drop boxes. Meanwhile, even individual states are taking steps to rig the election in Democrats’ favor. Pennsylvania, for example, has partnered with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) — which has been described as the “nerve center” of government censorship — to target speech it deems a “threat” ahead of the election. Nevada’s legislature passed a law in 2021 that closely mirrored a temporary pandemic-related measure that extended the mail-in ballot deadline during the 2020 election. Republicans have challenged the new law. This is why I think Trump has such an uphill battle no matter what the polls say. Nobody should be surprised if 2024 is a repeat of 2020. And should they win again, Democrats will once again insist it was the most secure election ever. -

Just a meme, but it rings true. -
I welcome all American posters in here, including you, even though we disagree on just about everything. It is nice to be able to speak freely, although it's not really a right in Canada. With our far-left leader Trudeau, a life sentence for saying the wrong thing may be possible if he gets his way with C63. https://nationalpost.com/news/politics/liberals-harmful-online-content

Justin Trudeau gets a lot of attention in the world press, but for all the wrong reasons.
