They top out at 30/hr. and they have benefits. Sounds reasonable to me.
-
I bet they don't start out at 30 either. That is a promise to the workers that if they work so long and gain so many skills they will be rewarded for that. It makes it easier to hire good people at the lower wage. Sounds very reasonable to me to. Mr. Canada isn't telling the whole story here.
-
1) Punked is right, they max out at $30, not start. 2) How on earth do you add $10/hr in benefits? Life/extended is around $2/hr and you're saying they're getting $8/hr more in pensions? 3) The split-shifts, the abuse, do you know what kind of turnover you'd have at $15/hr for that job? Wow, C.

I am disabled and poor on disability. yet I use common sense. The unions holding everyone hostage every few years isn't the way to go. It seems like someone is always threatening to strike, like the take turns. Postal workers, teachers, TTC drivers, garbage collectors and on and on and on. When does it end? These people have to be forced to not strike.
-
Yet when I wrote that disabled people deserve no power it does not bother you that I wrote such a thing???
-
Some service shouldn't be allowed to strike, it'd that simple. If some of those people don't like that then they can work elsewhere. I'm not sure what you mean by "power". The disabled are afforded the same rights as anyone else in this country and if a disabled person seeks power they can achieve it. I don't think we need to be in a constant state of victimhood to have power. Special privilege shouldn't be given to anyone no matter the circumstance. Powe...
