Let me add to that, I wouldn't fault Alberta anymore then I fault Quebec for wanting to be indenpendent, if thats what they want. The other side of the coin, If they wanted to stay within this French speaking nation, I'd tell them to accept the fact that they can't be "more special" then any of the other provinces........
-
I'm sure they would being doing the exact same thing that Quebec is doing
-
I would trust Henault as far as I could throw him That says it all........ Hmmm......It will cost close to 2 billion dollars to get PM PM's "peacekeeping Brigade" off the ground........I wonder how much money would be saved by axing the 280s and twenty Hornets Who wants to place bets that it will be equal to or greater then 2 billion dollars? FYI, the Navy expects the program to replace our current Destroyers (called CADRE) will cost in the ballpark of 5.2 billion.............

Flipper Can Dish it, But he Can't Take It
Stoker replied to I miss Reagan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
So? What if Kerry was in Vietnam and Bush wasn't? But if you must press the point, Kerry was there and back (IIRC) in under four months, due to having received three purple hearts (Which will send you home). Now the odd thing about this, Kerry was never forced to recieve major medical treament (as in stay in a hospital overnight) due to his injuries. Also, if you chose to believe the swift boats veterns, Kerry recieved two of his injuries in accidents, possably even self inflicted. With that said, if you want to bring up military service, Kerry was a LT jg, Bush is the Commander in Chief of the worlds most powerful armed forces........quite a difference. -
No, I believe in a Democratic choice and if the majority is for or against something, that is what should stand. All I want of government is for them, for the most part, to carry out the people's will, and if 51% don't like sex toys on moral grounds, so be it.

My bad for not being clear.........in my example the bugger is a model citizen well in Vernon, only after he moves to Vansterdam does he go down the wrong path. So should he stay in Van or go back to Vernon?
-
Are the majority of the people in Alabama or Missouri demanding that they should be allowed to purchase sex toys? Never heard that one.........I be in favor of a ban on overweight, hairy men wearing them mind you Trying to protect unborn life that can't protect itself. I assume you mean gay marriage.............protecting the beleifs of those they represent.........Did you see Bush on Larry King.........has no prob with gay union (no MS, not that type of Union) Are the majority demanding the bylaws be changed? Protecting youth. I still fail to see where true Conservatives are trying to "control the masses" or where a Conservative minded voter wante his or her government to overbear onto them...........it's a Commie thing
-
So if a person born and raised in Vernon, moves to Vancouver, get's involved with drugs, then commites a violent crime (in Van), they should be sent back to Vernon?
-
I don't, I would expect that with a socialist, left wing government........after all........Freedom is Slavery right? Do you have a couple of examples?

the actions of a secretive dictatorship I guess the Libs are right about something............

Has the Language Police gone too far?
Stoker replied to JWayne625's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Actually I do care........... for a number of reasons....I'm a big believer in freedom and democracy, and if a majority of Quebers want to leave, thats their democratic right. Also, IMHO by Quebec leaving, I hope that will bring about greater talk of western separation. Tough titty. The English (well United Kingdom) beat the French. The French people should be greatfull that the Empire allowed them to retain their language, culture and religion..........I don't know if the same could be said for the British settlers if the French had of won.......the rest as they say is history. Now if Quebec wants to leave, fine let them. If they want to stay, they shouldn't be able to put the ROC over the barrel. -

I do understand your concern (WRT bumping up the age to collect pension), but I've yet to see proof that that will infact happen. That doesn't change the fact, like caesar mentioned, a person health should be part of the decision as should their own free will. I'd just like to think that the option for an older person to work longer should be the said person's choice. I make under 40k a year and I make sure, just like rent/bills etc that I put money towards RRSPs every pay check, before any extras. Granted I'm only in my mid 20s and don't have kids etc, but by putting 100 dollars from every paycheck towards my RRSP, by the time i reach 65, my Bi-weekly income will be over 1200 dollars (not including other pensions/spouse etc). This is all at the current amount that I can invest, which when I earn more money, I plan to increase my contribution.... I'm hardly affluent (as of yet). Depends on the person........I've family and friends that all contribute.......not after school, but well they are going.

I feel the same way........infact, there are a few adds that I fund rather funny........that one for DQ where the guy gets his tounge stuck in the egg beaters or the ones for AFLAK (sp?) with the Duck or Alexander Keiths beer (spilly talker). Then on the other end of the spectrum, even though i don't mind their food, I'll never eat at Subway because of their adds........to each his or her own -
I couldn't agree more.........

Now that you got that out of your system........shall we continue? When your ready.

So what does this mean for the average Canadian? Perhaps that the IWA can now extort more people?

Did you see the date of the story you posted? So did the IOC have to assist with security costs? What, you don't want the media to call a spade a spade? If we suck we suck...........How would you write the headlines MS? Let's see one of these scumbag reports though...... Here's TSN's sports Olympic section: Full of nasty stories Here's the Global section: Even more nasty stories Here's the Commie Broadcasting Corporation's site: Somebody call the CRTC, these guys are devils

By entrench, do you mean force people to learn a dying language? Perhaps Latin would also be a good choice. You say that as if it where a bad thing.........only means that the timeframe for the West to leave will be hastened.
