  1. More junk mail from Rick Anderson in today's Toronto Star: Who's is Anderson trying to kid? Everyone knows Harper is desparately trying to deceive Canadians about what he stands for, war mongering idiot that he is, so that is why he is constantly disappearing and hiding all the time.
  2. Article It is truly remarkable that organizations like the Fraser Institute have any credibility at all in our society. And they wouldn't except for Canada's right wing media. The rich always come up thith these bullshit schemes to deal with the poor. The only problem with their schemes is that the poor become poorer and the rich become richer. It is time to put the rich out to pasture, and start listening to the poor about what is best for the poor, eh?
  3. Layton says NDP will continue to fight in Que. Layton makes the correct move - turns a thumbs down to Hargrove's latest proposal. It will take a bit of time but Jack is on the correct path in Quebec..
  4. Does anyone really believe that the scandals in Quebec all belong to the Liberal party. Jeez, please give us all a break. Has anyone ever heard of Duplessis? A true Quebecois nationalist and as crooked a politician as you will ever find
  5. NDP has dialogue and debate which is healthy for any political party. What Parrish did is healthy for the Liberals. And what Parizeau did is healthy for the separatists to debate. Have no dissention and your party will die. There will be no NDP - Bloc alliance just like there will be no Cons - Bloc alliance. Someday a federalist left of centre provincial party will be formed in Quebec.
  6. I don't hate Harper or Conservatives - I don't know him or any Cons. I am very opposed to the policies they represent - war mongering, poor-bashing ideas. Yea don't care for stone-age, brain-dead, idiotic policies. This is the 21st century - the US world domination is coming to an end, women will be taking their rightful places in society, etc. Get used to it. The reason Harper is hiding or not talking, is because he is trying to be something he isn't. So the less exposure and scrutiny, the less Canadians will know about his true intentions. A lepard doesn't change its stripes. Why should we have a fraud for a political leader? That's elitism and fortunately Canadians aren't buying it. When you have a right winger like Barbara Jaffe, writing in a right wing paper, the Vancouver Sun, criticising Harper, you gotta know life is not unfolding for Harper the way he wants it to.
  7. TAN.......the Globe is OK. I have been registered with them for awhile now and have never been spamed via them.
  8. Hargrove calls on NDP to leave Quebec to Bloc, form leftist alliance I like Buzz a lot but this is where he and I part company. I disagree.
  9. My political ambition is to ensure that no Conservatives ever get elected again thoughout that magnificent country called Canada.
  10. And Trudeau was right. Canadians as a whole will decide before we ever give up one inch of territory whether it be Alberta, Quebec or PEI, apart from the global warming impact, that is.
  11. Technically in the eyes of jurists yes, however in the real world, none. I shudder to think what would happen to French if Quebec ever did secede. The separatists are pushing the envelope too much now!
  12. Argus, it sounds like your definition of wisdom is anyone who is not Liberal. What crap. Just a cheap shot with absolutely not a shred of substance to back up the load of manure you keep shoveling out on a regular basis. I know , I know, plus ca change but sometimes one needs to say screw that expression. We live in a changing world. For example, personally I could care less about the issue, but same-sex marriage is a done deal, and it will be shortly in the US as well. It is time to move on on some of these issues. They have been milked to death. Why don't we direct our surpls energy to devising ways to deflect asteroids which may pummel us some day, eh? It reminds me of Quebec separation - a complete waste of time for all concerned.
  13. Let's not forget PM Paulie who got this thing going in Canada to begin with, didn't he? Or did Chretien? Anyways it was a Liberal, that's all I know.
  14. I do not honestly believe there is anyone posting here who hates Americans. They may hate some of their current moronic idiotic administration policies or plans, but come on. I think we have jingled that chain long enough. I actually think Parrish did the right thing, she has put missle defence on the front burner - what's the matter NDP, someone stealing your thunder?
  15. This is the last paragraph of an article by Chantal Hebert in today's Toronto Star. Parrish has staying power, and I would fathom she more support in Canada than anyone wants to admit, including a lot of support in the USA. I heard the talk-back comments on the CBC yesterday, and a lot of Americans called in to support her, and stated that they wished they had politicians of a similar nature in the US, that would speak out forcefully on the issues of the day. Canadians need to stop kowtowing to the Americans, and Canadians need to stop being afraid of them as well. They are not the friggin' Gods of the Universe.
  16. Why didn't they use their famous taser weapon?
  17. Another brain dead proposal from the industrial-military complex - Missle Defence. The only people that will benefit from this will be the defence contractors. Did you notice that Martin will do nothing about Parrish's behaviour, because she has a lot of support within the Liberal caucus, and most canadians probably agree with her?
  18. What's up with Stephen Harper? He has just reappeared after a nine week disappearing act. And this in not the first time he has gone out of sight like this. This week Harper was out in Vancouver to give a speech, but once again he avoided talking with the media. Barbara Yaffe, a Vancouver Sun columnist has written about Harper's media avoidance in today's paper. The article makes him look very bad. If he doesn't like the media interaction perhaps he should get out of this line of work. It makes one wonder what he is hiding - a secret agenda perhaps!
  19. I actually thought Trudeau purchased Petro Canada so that there would be Canadian maple leafs throughout Quebec. Governments need to be involved in all essential services, they are just too important to be left up to the whims of the market place. Look at the effects of the disasterous deregulation of the energy sector in the Western US with Enron, etc. They have never recovered from those high electricity prices.
  20. I actually thought Trudeau purchased Petro Canada so that there would be Canadian maple leafs throughout Quebec.
  21. This is the little game that is played when Canada does not support the moronic US policies like the War in Iraq. I think it is the other way around, Americans hate Canadians. Seriously though, Canadians do not support Bush's idiotic policies. Get it! It has nothing to do with liking or not liking Americans. And I resent those moronic comments, my closest relatives live in the US. It was my American uncle who warned us a long time ago that he was afraid that the US was becoming fascist. Unfortunately he has a point.
  22. Parrish is on "As it Happens" right now and said actually that Americans are being let down by their leaders. She also said she got 28,000 votes in the last election, so she has lots of support. She does not apologise, that is her, she says. She cannot support the illegal war in Iraq, and does not want to see a second mistake made with this missle defence scheme.
  23. Who would you expect Martin to appoint? Someone who is against same-sex marriage, when most people in the country have moved on from this issue. It's a done deal, court or no court. Isn't there something of consequence to discuss? I am so tired of hearing about someone's sexuality. Who the F*** cares?
  24. Argus.........the US Supreme Court not political. Absoulute nonsense. The US Supreme Court credible? Don't make me laugh. The Supreme court deliberations concerning the last US presidential election was a farce, and the entire world watched their comedy act. Basically the current US Supreme Court has done more to discredit the judiciary than any previous group. Of course appointees smack of politics, how could they not be. They are appointed by politicians. They are just like any other group in society - representing the good, the bad, and the ugly. Nothing special.
  25. The reality is most Canadians agree with Parrish concerning Star Wars or Missle Defence or whatever the spin doctors want to call it. Jack Layton should send her a New Democrat application form
