Scientists Find A DNA Change That Accounts For White Skin

Well I guess that explains it perhaps? With such 'respect' for your own - and I also admit to a revulsion for oatmeal and intestines - you believe others should likewise divest themselves of their heritage? Is that it? I say this with no disrespect, as ... 'orange' Irish is a heritage I don't revere in some respects, though I honour a tradition of survival, adaptation, laughter and country days and slightly orange hair. -

Canadian-born population 80.9% Foreign-born population 18.4% Total visible minority population 13.4% All others 86.6% miked: I don't feel that she should be citing people born outside Canada, she should be citing visible minorities. I cited both. I must point out that of your data, the only stat that can perhaps be compared to mine is the 20% speaking languages other than English or French, similar to the current Canadian born - Foreign born difference. As guyser implied, there is nothing there that supports your contention of any huge difference in 2017. I would also like to support the person who said that more white people drive in cars instead of taking transit. miked I just think you are making mountains out of molehills on sensitive topics, and I find it unpleasant and certainly unnecessary. -
I dunno ... maybe it's a rumour. Stay tuned for court I guess.

It has generated a most interesting discussion, I think, where some myths and stereotypes have been addressed, and others reinforced. Single mothers with pre-school children did constitute about 80% of the welfare rolls last data I saw, and they also had the most consistent turnover rates of 2-3 years. They do get childcare for going to school and most do, and then get jobs. This is the majority. Not saying there are no abusers of the system, but please don't paint all with the same low level brush. Now tell me about #4 ... getting around paying CPP premiums?

Hunh? Who denied whom what? please ... Nobody denies that education is key, but substandard and abusive education is not helpful and students who failed to give up their own language or ways were singled out for abuse and some of them 'disappeared'. It is the quality of education and care in provided in residential schools that is in question. The federal government mandated, funded and supervised the schools, according to federal policies. -
Well, it is interesting because Jpe has never been clear about whether he was there or not. However, now he says he was there and when Sam "was attacked" he went outside with the nephews. How likely is that?

I was referring more to mikedavid's fears of a political 'takeover'. It hardly seems likely. -

I would not expect a grouch like you to understand. What is your culture Scott? Do you have one? -
It's the ones in that tax bracket who pay NO taxes that we wonder about.

RedX is hardly intended as fact. You are naive. -

I think it is important to keep reality in mind: Canadian-born population 80.9% Foreign-born population 18.4% Total visible minority population 13.4% All others 86.6% It seems to me there are a lot of threads and a lot of angst about immigration that really exaggerate the issue. Only 20% of Canadians are foreign born, and only 13% are visible minority. I fail to see how these percentages can lead to so much apparent concern. I believe it is not reality but ideology that drives the concern. -

There is research on 'cultural continuity' that shows its importance in reducing intergenerational conflict (Korean-Canadians) and reducing adolescent suicide (Indigenous). It is never appropriate to put someone in the position of having to deny their culture to fit into a social clique. It only emphasizes the inferiority complex of Canadians and reduces our health as a society. If we are confident of ourselves, we have no need to try to diminish others. -

I agree, and a certain amount of assimilation is not wrong. What is wrong, in my mind, is expecting people to give up their culture entirely. That is the key point: It is not healthy for people to deny their heritage, and it is thus foolish to pressure them to do so. -

I think, my child, that you need to learn the difference between truth and fiction. -
Right, but is due process not suspended in some cases?

Oh I think this is becoming one of those few unanimous things. Some people, like John Tory and Tom Long just should never come out of the backroom. -
Is Harper really so anxious for an election, to end up in the same position? Must he be entirely inflexible about his policies? I don't know. Perhaps we have yet to see.

EI is Employment insurance, paid out of your earnings and collected when you are unemployed. Everyone is entitled for a year who has paid in for a certain time. Welfare is for while you are waiting for EI, or after it runs out and you still can't find a job, or if you are a single parent of pre-school children or a teenager escaping an abusive home, etc. I will be honest and share something I know and something I think: - Some of these non-tax paying welfare/EI collecting families are business startups with perhaps large gross incomes but losses overall. If they can feed or clothe their family via their business, all the better. - Some may continue beyond startup, and then it becomes chronic. However, you can't tell whether it is traffic moving through the system well, or chronic, except over time.

No offence, but you don't seem like the neighbourly type ... are you happier with your neighbours now?

Is that good? An extension of the Afghanistan mission, COMBAT or SECURITY? It makes a difference. tough love justice bills, YAYA ... SHELL OUT THE EXTRA MONEY FOR FACILITIES, CUSTODY AND PEOPLE ON THE STREET AND WE'LL BELIEVE HIM. OR GET SERIOUS ABOUT PREVENTION. a deep tax cut and a missing climate change bill are subject to de facto approval on Oct. 16. NOW HARPER COULD PULL THIS OUT IF HE MOVES TOWARD CONSUMPTION TAXES INSTEAD OF PERSONAL AND CORPORATE TAXES. THAT WOULD FLY. Should his rivals reject the master blueprint or defeat any one of his priorities, this make-my-day prime minister will deem it a lost vote of confidence. HE MAY WELL COLLABORATE AND PROVE TO BE A REAL LEADER ... DO YA THINK?

Hmm ... other than the firing squad, I find I cannot disagree. I believe we have to get us bums ... oops ... those bums ... (jk) .... off the road. I think it is an aspect of the gene pool that is oblivious to income, social status, etc., and I agree with aggressive tactics to protect the public from them. I joke about "us" because it is so goddam common and we all know who the offenders are in our circle of acquaintances, right? The ones who habitually get blasted and then drive. But you shoot them by yourself, eh, and take the consequences if you choose that route. Personally I think there should be a snitch line, especially when you are the host, and you offer accommodation or transportation: Your guests may need to know that you will not tolerate drinking and driving as you may be legally liable. It might be a safer way to deal with Grandpa, ya know?
