I just finished building my new computer. It cost right around 4500.00 to build, that means I would have saved about 270.00. You may not consider that to be worthwhile, I do though. That 270.00 would have paid for another 10,000 RPM Raptor or an XFI Platinum. To me thats significant.

Muslim father chokes daughter to near death
AngusThermopyle replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Actually Rue, I think you missed the point. Dkz made specific reference to the Hijab, this thread is about a muslim father killing his daughter, the claim was made that no religion advocates violence. Given the thread topic, religion of the father, and the reference to the hijab I responded with a point that was pertinent given these factors. Of course many religions advocate violence, we aren't talking about many religions though are we? In your rush to be correct and accommodating you kinda jumped the gun on that one and ended up stating non relevant facts. As for the research I've done, we wont even go into that, it would be tedious and rather lengthy. All I will say is that I use the information I've gained in order to attempt to form the best non biased opinion I possibly can. I don't give a damn about being PC, facts are facts and no amount of trying to be nice or PC will alter that. As a final thought I would like to say that I don't bash Islam at the expense of other religions. I find them all to be equally ridiculous. -

Did you mean bloviating? To talk or speak in a pompous manner. I'm not familiar with obloviating, though I suspect it's meaning to be the same or similar to bloviating. -

Perhaps you should take your own advice. Read the Koran before you talk. In many places repeatedly it does indeed call for killing those who wont convert. It also states that beating your woman is a good practice. Have you ever read it? If so, did you understand what you read? P.S. IRA, politically motivated and driven, hence the name Irish Republican Army. Geeze! Do some research why dontcha! -
I've never been to Ohio, is it really that bad? It cant be as bad as trying to understand someone who's lived on the rock all their lives can it?

Gary McHale Assaults a Six Nations Woman

They probably could have been. One thing is sure, they couldn't have been handled any worse. Another issue is loss of credibility. With all thats been happening many people are just using their bullsh*t filters when it comes to Native issues in Caledonia. Claims that it wasn't natives who burnt the transformer, or the bridge needed to be demolished, stuff like that. Blatant and rather childish attempts to rationalize plain bad behaviour. Or the guy in court who tried to claim diplomatic immunity. It's hard to take a group seriously when they constantly demonstrate the fact that they run around in clown shoe's. And yes, the issue of imports from the states does raise it's ugly head. It cannot be denied that these guys are agitators, nothing more. They came up for Oka, they came up for Ipperwash, and now they're here at Caledonia. In a normal scenario these thugs would be cooling their heels in jail right now. This isn't normal though is it? So we let imported Native thugs run rampant as a matter of political expediency. -
Interesting statement. So are you saying that what people buy and use should be legislated? That perhaps one should have an issued permit before buying a new couch? It's easy to state things like this but when pressed for some depth on the statement answers are usually sparse and unrevealing.

Nah, last I heard she was in Edmonton, met some poor bast*rd on ICQ and suckered him into moving her there.

There are a couple of reasons that seem to be possible and quite likely. One, those words are an expeditious means of showing disapproval or disagreement. The other that I see is that many times emotions overtake reason and those words are a strong manner in which to manifest these emotions. It's true, one can not judge an entire group by the actions of some. I tend to disagree with the use of unemployment as a factor caused solely by our society however. As I've said before, I've offered jobs to quite a few Natives and had them react as if I had the plague, some even with hostility. Too bad for them I suppose, if they accepted the offer and were sincere they would quite possibly end up with Journey Man papers and a very good future. You can only help people so much, then the onus falls on them to help themselves. Unfortunately I haven't seen too much desire to do so on their behalf. Not to say that holds true for all of them though, we just promoted a young guy to foreman, terrific worker, knowledgeable about the trade, and a nice kid too. The ones who refuse to help themselves are the ones I look upon with scorn, and sadly there are a great many of them around here. -
I'm from england originally so it was usually an African nation she'd use. Were they starving in Ohio too?
-
Yeah sure, nice sound bite, now, back to the question. Would you care to explain to me how I'm part of that problem? Perhaps I've been over zealous in my "lets starve kids to death" campaign?
-
I'm not sure I'd say I'm in denial at all. We have many policies and programs designed to help others. I've said before, we cant do it all at the same time, these things are difficult and hard to change. The fact is that Canada makes significant efforts to aid others, to the point where Canadians give their lives in pursuit of these goals. Can you name the operations Canada has undertaken to kill, maim, starve and whatever else people of other nations? This inquiring mind wants to know. And, no, Mea Culpa does not cover us all as you put it. I know that I'm not responsible for some thugs in a foreign land slaughtering their own kin. This is also something I'd like you to enlighten me on, how am I at fault for such atrocities? While you're at it you can also explain how my neighbours and co-workers are responsible, or the lovely lass who serves me at the local pub. I'm sure she'd like to know how responsible for world wide atrocities she is.

Yeah, you're right. The combination of looks and a stereotypical "swimsuit" body got me, the lies and cheating were the deal breaker. She was every mans dream, a lady in public and a wh*re in bed. Except for the pathological lying and cheating, and wanton pay cheque spending and on and on.

Actually Rue, domestic violence against women and children in Aboriginal communities is almost three times the national average, nice way to show deep and abiding respect for women. We should learn from them, don't ya think? Now I know you'll probably launch into one of your tediously long self promoting rants about racism and blah blah blah, then try to prove I'm wrong. Sooo... I cant give you a link to prove this. It's a PDF document, download, not HTML website. If you Google "Aboriginal Domestic Violence In Canada" you will find this PDF. It's a lengthy read but well worth it, I suggest you read it. That way you can try to refute what was said with facts rather than some idealized crap about Earth Mothers and Sweet Grass. -
It is true that as a broad generalization it could be said that there is only one race, the Human race. There are however many physical differences that distinguish between the sub species. For instance, black males tend to be far more susceptible to sickle cell anemia. I don't think those differences are of any great significance though. I believe the kind of person someone is bears far more importance than their appearence. For instance, one of my ex's looked Lebanese, masses of thick black hair, olive complexion, large Almond shaped eyes, very beautifull. She was from Cape Breton Euro stock, no middle Eastern blood at all. By appearence you would have said she was not typical Anglo at all. She was however the biggest liar and, ahem, loose woman you could have the misfortune to meet. In that case who she actually was had far more significance than what colour or race she was. It's just my opinion but I think that mixing races is a good thing. Someone said earlier that mutts often are better than purebreds. I agree, I think race mixing could result in a superior breed of Humans. Thats just my take on it though.

Thank you for the info. I never realized before that Canada had policy of killing, starving and mistreating others. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that others have such a policy as applied to their own people?

I agree 100%. I just keep in mind the saying "rap is to music as etch-a-sketch is to art".

Ottawa school threatened after Christmas song cuts
AngusThermopyle replied to Leafless's topic in Local Politics in Canada
You really refuse to see anything but what you want to see don't you. I tell you I feel no anger, you insist I do. I guess you know better than me what I feel, god must have told you I guess. I tell you I don't really give a damn about what you believe, in other words I have zero interest in your personal belief system. You interpret that as disrespect. To cap everything off you go on to imply that I must be a bad person because I don't follow your beliefs, yet you know absolutely nothing about me. In my books, to judge without knowledge is start treading the path a bad person would choose, go figure eh. So, would you care to explain to me where your fabled christian tolerance is? I don't see any tolerance at all in what you've said so far. Actually, I pity you. It must be terrible to live life in such a monochromatic way. Any who aren't just like you, the enemy to be scorned and despised. These are a few of the reasons I will have no truck with any primitive religious system (that means any religious system). I could list more, but sadly the reasons are legion. -
I agree, lets not increase it. From now on we should have a moratorium on all sentencing of criminals that will involve incarceration. That way we can lower our incarceration rate. (For those who don't know, that was sarcastic.)

Torture complex found in Iraq

Just out of curiosity, do you have a laptop equipped with a wireless connection? Because theres only one place I can think of that you can be sitting in order to come up with this much continuous crap. -
And how many was it that Iraq had during the first Gulf War? I still remember all the lefties screaming about how Iraq was going to kick ass because they had all these men and planes and tanks. Hmmm, wonder how that worked out for them? Numbers do have a good deal of significance, they do not however compensate for a strong, well trained, well motivated and well equipped force.

What makes you think this? She was known to be corrupt, just as all her peers are. Just because she says something or other in order to get herself elected doesn't mean it's the truth. I would have thought you would realize this, what with your almost supernatural knowledge of the inner workings of the worlds power elite and all.

Ottawa school threatened after Christmas song cuts
AngusThermopyle replied to Leafless's topic in Local Politics in Canada
Well Oleg, I find myself in agreement with you on this point. From what I've seen the vast majority of them don't have any problem with Christmas, there may be a few whiners, but not the majority. I'm non religious, as I've stated before, but I have no problem with Christmas, Easter, or any other such celebration, in fact I enjoy them. I think the best part is the kids excitement, at least for me it is. -

AngusThermopyle replied to Leafless's topic in Local Politics in Canada
Well I must say that I do agree with you on your point about us having government without representation. I also agree that race and religion should not be barriers to employment. I do not believe we should downgrade standards in order to employ those who would not normally be employable in the capacity they seek. Unfortunately that is exactly what happens in many cases though, for instance, the Halifax Fire Department revising the academic requirements in order to attract and hire more visible minorities. As for the rest however, I must have misunderstood what you were saying. It appeared to me that you were saying we (Canadians) should be tolerant to any who come here but not expect them to show the same tolerance toward Canadians and Canadian customs. My mistake. I believe that this exact same thing can be safely stated about the far left wing as well.
