Seamus O'Regan, Minister of Veterans Affairs, apologizes for saying immigrants are better at creating companies and jobs than native born Canadians.
Trolling for the immigrant vote, the Trudeau mindset in full display.

This morning, in a call-in radio show one woman on the cancelled pilot project called to complain she didn't know how she would be able to pay her mortgage. The poor dear.

Should assisted suicide be expanded?
capricorn replied to turningrite's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Thank you so much turningrite for sharing your personal experience. You provide much food for thought. I wish you well as you face your very serious challenges. What I find most objectionable about this case is that it appears some health care workers at that London hospital went outside the bounds of the assisted death law by offering it to him. This is against the law. And this under the guise that Mr. Foley can't afford the care he needs. Re resources yes it's a big problem and I really don't know how this can be resolved other that the government reassigning money from other programs. The funds spent on accommodating illegal migrants for one comes to mind. -
Should assisted suicide be expanded?

This case is shocking and sure to make your blood boil. https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/chronically-ill-man-releases-audio-of-hospital-staff-offering-assisted-death-1.4038841 I'm so upset over this, I'll you read the rest yourself as my heart is in my throat. Is this the future of our health care? Scary stuff. -
Faisal Hussain - the evolving story

You remind me. Trudeau just had to invoke his brother Michel who died in an avalanche some years back. I thought that was in bad taste. Another indicator he tried to change the channel. Additionally perhaps looking for some sympathy of his own? -
Yup, that's a broken campaign promise. The only people who will disagree with welfare reform are those working in the poverty industry (the higher number of welfare recipients the more business they get) and welfare recipients who will complain about having to work for a living. There is still a 1.5% increase to benefits coming.

It looks to me the Liberals are losing the immigrant vote. This would be disastrous for the Liberals in Ontario in an election given the large number of immigrants. They've lost all support in Alberta. Their strong showing right now is in Quebec and the Maritimes. Given this scenario I doubt the Liberals can win another majority.

Doug Ford - leader of Ontario PCs
capricorn replied to ?Impact's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Premier Doug Ford, the bully, the dictator, Mike Harris02 strikes again. https://globalnews.ca/news/4363514/ontario-tories-basic-income-social-assistance/ Wynne's Liberals had brought in these measures in a last ditch effort to save their skin. A better plan would be to encourage people on social assistance find jobs and gain self esteem that comes with financial independence. There is much duplication in the system i.e. social assistance and Ontario Works where savings could be assigned to giving people a hand up. -

This is exactly the point. Authorities don't appear to be divulging everything they know and the public wants and is entitled to know. That's why there is so much conjecture on social media. As for friends and family, do you really think they would come out and say "Oh yeah, Faisal was plotting a major terrorism strike...." Give your head a shake. -

Just another indicator that Liberals and leftists are getting more and more shrill as time goes on. -

Amazingly, we are just 15 months away from the next federal election. Yet, the Liberals are now staking out what will be their main plank to win a second mandate. It seems it will center on their immigration and refugee program policies. All the signs support this strategy. But it this the way to go for the Liberals given the problems that have cropped up at the illegal border and the number of immigrants accepted in recent years and from where they originated? When it comes to wooing the immigrant vote Butts is no Jason Kenny and Trudeau is no Harper.

Well, you missed my point. Under the Liberals there would not be an "objective" inquiry therefore there would be no conclusion. -

Well don't look to the Liberals to launch such an "objective" inquiry. They're much too afraid the results would put muslims in a bad light. I mean, think of all the lost votes. -
Don't know what happened here. I could not delete my post.

Ford should merge the public and Catholic school systems
capricorn replied to a topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
I would like that as well. Problem is a court challenge against such action would be successful. It goes way back to the "two founding nations" principle and entente when Canada came to be. -
Ford eviscerates local GTA politics
capricorn replied to turningrite's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
There's talk that Ford took this action to stick it to his political opponents. Yet, he has a caucus to answer to and I doubt the majority of them share any of the personal animosity attributed to Ford. -

Journalists may unwittingly be playing into the hands of the Liberal government who would like nothing more than to sweep this matter from the front pages and social media. Persuading the public that mental illness is at play and not terrorism is most probably a very good outcome for the Liberals.
