Is it time for "the west" to accept responsibility
ScottSA replied to Higgly's topic in The Rest of the World
Actually no, little cheerleader. It would be drug, in keeping with the players of the sport. Don't you have something else to do, like play with a hand grenade or something? -
You are flat out lying Michael. You have managed to so mangle what I said in an effort to make it sound like Charles Manson or some kind of apocalyptic freakshow that it's actually funny. Piss off you insipid little lowbrow.

Arabs Butcher Arabs in Darfur-Israel's fault, maybe?
ScottSA replied to jbg's topic in The Rest of the World
Shame? Why should I feel shame because neither me or my son is over there sorting these barbarians out? The minute we got there you'd be howling "neo-imperialism" or some other polysyllabic assault on the English language. I'd prefer to stay here and go "tut, tut." You're right...there is not western strategic or economic interest there. The only viable reason I could see is to shoot some Mussies and rescue the Christians. -
There's a surplus because the economy is good and tax revenue is consequently up. About 2% of the reason for that is tax breaks, about 2% is because of other government activity (including provincial govts), and 95+% is because of the regional and global economy. Politicians like to talk up a storm about the economy, but in advanced capitalism there's very little they can do about it one way or another. I prefer to have tax cuts, a larger military, better infrastructure and the demise of 90% of our "social programs," so as usual I'll be voting Conservative, even if they do things not quite the way I'd like them done. But that doesn't mean I believe that any foreseeable government policy will achieve a change in the economy one way or another.

Tired of the Same Old? Why not Green?
ScottSA replied to MattWC's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Teach me Mahatma. What's the Green position on the sum of one and one? This question interests me because I've heard rumours that your economic policy doesn't exactly add up according to the usual rules of mathematics. Yeah, I know..we can all be responsible stewards of the earth and do away with our energy needs and use only sustainable energy without paying any kind of economic penalty and all that stuff, and I won't even question you on that...I just want to see how you folks think about the basics... -
That's what he's saying...you don't know the answer to most questions, but you just make up answers anyway, and it's probably no coincidence that your answers always seem to make to noble savage come out on top. Like Momo said, we got your number. You're actually your allies worst enemy, if only you knew it. Not to mention the fact that Posit is on your side, which is rather like riding into battle on a warhorse dragging a plow, or trying to reach the speed of sound with the help of a drag chute...

What exactly is wonderful about being "Blonde"
ScottSA replied to RB's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Well, I think I've discovered the seat of your ignorance. You're working from a position of personal anecdote, while I'm talking about well recognized global trends. Oh, you can call me "Scott", since my name isn't Buster, little cheerleader. Now then, back to your education, for which I won't charge you a cent. Here's a good site for Latin America: Here's one about the Caribbean: Oh, here's a good one...over 2 million websites concerned with skin whitening and skin whitening products. I wonder who would buy them? http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=wh...reams&meta= Now I don't have time to dig up more links for you, nor do I have time to listen to anymore of your "but I know someone who likes Asian women, so you must be wrong..." self-embarrassments, but here's a bit of further advice: arguing a general by appeal to a particular makes you a laughingstock, little cheerleader. Just say no next time the notion hits you. -
Should Mohawk Warriors Be Accorded Respect
ScottSA replied to AngusThermopyle's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
No, but it makes the Mohawks better warriors...oh wait...which thread was that again...? -
Hitler had a concept of 'revolution' not unlike the Maoist conception of unending social evolution, but matched instead to racial metaphor and a heroic leader figure. That, more than anything, is why he stayed away from all the internal squabbles, and why those squabbles occured in the first place. He saw the German fascist movement as an ongoing dialectic, and for the years he spent out of power he actually fought against any bureaucratic entanglements in the party. Between 1923 and 1930, he was content to "agitate", talking vaguely about some heroic leader to come, and most historians, including Kershaw (arguable the pre-emminent Hitler historian) agree that he didn't see himself as that leader until the 1930s, and then sort of took on the mantle by acclamation. But that's a peculiarity of the German movement from what I can tell, and you're right; the base theology underwriting all fascism is 'action.'

NEWSFLASH! Man has landed on the moon! "This is one small decade too late, but a giant leap for anti-Bush propaganda" said Dan Rather, about his walk to the outhouse... -
Should Mohawk Warriors Be Accorded Respect

I know what they used to be: proud barbaric fighters from a stone age culture. What they are know seems to be overweight thugs with drinking problems and/or FAS. -

ScottSA replied to Higgly's topic in The Rest of the World
I think you're being overkind to yourself. You seem to spend most of your time being drug behind a pickup truck by your own petard. -
I'm talking about the Visigoths crossing the Danube in the 4th century, and comparing it to the legal and illegal immigration into North America. I have no idea what you're talking about. Nor what Black Dog is talking about, although his amazing intuitive skills have helped him fathom that I'm talking about race, as I have been for weeks. But kudos to him for his epiphany, I guess.

What happened? Did "the man" object to them coming to work spittling and drooling?

ScottSA replied to RB's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Your ignorance is almost startling. Have you no familiarity with the widespread Asian and African custom of whitening the bloodline? The arrogance of liberals is beyond belief...they actually deny the very existence of reality and dogmatically believe things are as they wish they were. This is another case of an ignorant liberal namecalling when someone dares intrude with a tad of reality. -
I never asked the U of W to rate me. No doubt I would have failed the U of W's criteria of mudpacked dreadlocks, glazed eyes, and "I want to fellate Che" T shirt, but I went to a real university in the south end of town, where I managed to eek out an honours degree, first class, in spite of my obvious academic unsuitability. Then it was off to Ottawa to put some distance between me and the odour drifting south from Portage Avenue...

Stop spamming or I'll report you. We've all stopped laughing now and have moved on to grownup subjects. -
"versed in death." I love it. Never met a vet who was in the carpool or behind a desk...they all seemed to have been standing tall beside Sgt Fury gnawing on the enemy's head, picking their teeth with his shinbones, and versing in death.

It's one thing to allow emotion to color one's perceptions, but quite another to simply throw rationality out the window and embrace emotion in great heaving spasms of angst. Especially when it's fake, politically motivated angst. What a ridiculous position...let's try it in a different context: "Cars are bad." "No they're not." "Oh yeah? Just ask all the people who died in traffic accidents." You see how dumb, entirely irrational, and ridiculous it is to use that silly rationale? I'm embarrassed for you. Go get some school larnin'. That way you'll know that Afghanistan has NOT been, in fact, in a state of war since 1850. I sincerely doubt you have the slightest idea what is happening in Afghanistan or why we're there, and you've probably forgotten where you put the bong.

A Muslim inmate has won $2,000 for bacon insult
ScottSA replied to ScottSA's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
That's an alternative way, dare I say a Christian way, of extending the middle index finger to the smug atheists. And as far as I'm concerned, it would be completely different if it were a Christian or a Jew. This is a Judeo-Christian society and I hope it stays that way. I can't move to India or Saudi Arabia, become incarcerated, and start demanding fish on Fridays, and I would expect Muslims to extend the same courtesy. I daresay they're not doing us any favors by being here - especially if they're in jail.
