A Muslim inmate has won $2,000 for bacon insult

So in other words you're wrong. Or your reading comprehension absolutely sucks. Did you even read my challenge? Avoid the bong for a few seconds...long enough to think. -
Should Mohawk Warriors Be Accorded Respect
ScottSA replied to AngusThermopyle's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
I didn't get it. Anymore than I get "buyt." Is that a wordplay too? By the way, "every one" is spelled "everyone." Just so's you know. I suppose that was a wordplay too, though, eh? -
You're just silly. Go back to school.

Democrats Seriously Court Evangelicals
ScottSA replied to maldon_road's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
That had very little to do with actual religious belief, and a lot more to do with club tribalism. I doubt all that many on either side would be able to tell you how their beliefs differed from those of the other side. Islam is different, both quantitatively and qualitatively. It's a 7th century death cult, and the bastards who blow themselves up, or riot in the streets, know exactly why they are doing it, all the apologist BS about "marginalized youth" notwithstanding. -
I think MJ should have been decriminalized long ago. I just have trouble keeping from gagging when I hear the nonsense arguments for its legalization...sure it's not as bad as alcohol, and possibly not as harmful as tobacco, although that's debatable, but to listen to the ridiculous rhetoric from the MJ crowd, one would think it'll cure all diseases and stop all wars.

It's called Bush Derangement Syndrome, and it's symptoms extend to any rightwing politician. It's Churchill's dictum, sloshed through the mushy leftist mind, to emerge on the other side as "If Casper invaded Hell, I'd invite the Devil and all his minions to dinner." It's crazed illogical gnashing of teeth. The danger lies in the fact that it's so entrenched that it has become a pseudo-religion, like the Church of Global Warming. It's motto seems to be "the enemy of my president is my friend."

Conservatives Admit that Daycare Progam
ScottSA replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Sure, whatever. Crying to the government to fix things is not the answer. I happen to believe that as a matter of expediency it behooves the government to encourage parents to have as many kids as possible, just to ensure that the Canadian kids who DO exist don't become minorities in their own land, but offering to raise them too is a bit too much. Seems to me that we have to slow down the support of "me" and start supporting the kids. We have all too much evidence of what happens when parents don't make the time to take care of their own kids. Daycare is not the answer. -
The west is the arbiter of it's own freedoms, is it not? And if it is right to have freedom, then why should it not be the arbiter of freedom? Or are you suggesting that serfdom is better, or, alternatively, that only you and your kind should have freedom but no one else should? The Palestinians chose their government and then promptly descended into civil war. Maybe it's genetic, I dunno...

Castration vs Mastectomy: Which is worse?

Castration. It would take all the fun out of beddybye. -

Alrighty then. You said: "I dont try to say their religion is any better than others, but we can cherry-pick parts of the christian bible that say similar things. Just trying to keep an open mind, to avoid mass hysteria." So I took you up on it. I went and cherry picked a few choice goodies out of the Koran, like the fact that Mohammed was a rapist, a pedophile, a murderer, a thief and a genocidal maniac. By his own words, sanctified by the voices in his head. I then challenged you to find the same characteristics in the new testament in reference to Christ. You told me to google it up, and I asked you to supply a link instead, because I have actually read parts of the New Testament, and it doesn't take Einstein to figure out that the NT goes in a wholly different direction than the good ol' boys in Arabia. So I don't want to spend eternity searching for something that clearly doesn't exist. You're wrong. You don't know what you're talking about. Just admit it. -
"Islamophobia" is a catchphrase invented by Islamic groups and marketed to sensitive "progressives" to head off criticism of Islam, the errr..."religion of peace." Naturally, anyone who points to the words of such stirling Muslims as, say...Mohammed...and claims them as evidence that Islam is not in fact a religion of peace is usually branded a "racist" or some other approved epithet. Whenever anyone suggests that we ought to take the words of high profile Muslims like Mohammed and Osama seriously, the carefully coached nutroots chuckle smugly about wingnuts imagining Muslims behind every tree. As it turns out... "...It's now believed that several leaders of the Muslim establishment in America last decade conspired to infiltrate the U.S. political system, change Middle East policy and gradually Islamize America. At the same time, they hatched a plot to fund overseas terrorists. Of course, they couldn't do this out in the open. So they set up benign-sounding nonprofits and charities to "camouflage" their traitorous activities, say U.S. prosecutors who cite wiretap transcripts and other documents uncovered in a criminal probe of the Holy Land Foundation, the largest Muslim charity in America..." Wait a minute...that must be just some wingnut site, right? The poor innocent Muslims would never consider doing anything like that in real life, would they? It sounds almost like some science fiction plot, so no credible magazine would print that garbage... Well, you decide how credible it is. And really, all they're doing is regurgitating facts and evidence the prosecutors have already found, so it doesn't even matter what the source is, but hey, IBD is not exactly some fringe magazine: http://www.investors.com/editorial/editori...275871309181046 It would do the sensitive left a world of good to stop parroting the mantras and slogans of the left for a minute and take the time to find out what's really going on in the world.

So your claim is that the new testament says Christ raped kids, assasinated rivals, sacked caravans, slaughtered tribes of Jews, and claimed that God told him to do it, and that all I need to do is google up christ and I'll find evidence of that? Please do stop making an ass of yourself. -
Thank you Charles. Now then, back to the fascism in Brussels, apparently I'm not the only one who thinks so. Here's a cartoon an acquaintance sent from Brussels. The cartoon is in German, but here's his emailed description: Cartoon: http://de.news.yahoo.com/karikat/20070927/...dcdeb727a0.html Email: Hello Scott, Just for the fun, I am sending you a "political sketch" (I am not too sure how you call this). It is unfortunately in German, and I found it today on http://de.news.yahoo.com/ It shows the mayor of Brussels, the infamous Thielemans, calling the government of Burma to congratulate him for the way they handle people's uprising,... ".. Europe has a still a lot to learn from you!". Funny, isn't?

There's a pathology at work when someone equates the leader of a barbarian thugocracy with the leader of the free world. I understand that some people don't like Bush, but the Bush derangement syndrome is as insane as the troothers.

You'd best develop one before it goes too far and you start hearing arguments against Sikhs in school, never mind their helmets and armament. -
They used to call it "between jobs" back in the day. The day before that they called it "unemployed."

How bout you get someone to come up behind you and whack you over the head hard enough to put you in a coma, then try to identify the piece of wood. The material facts haven't changed one whit, no matter how hard you try to throw the blame on the victim.

Most of what you say is confusing to me, I'm afraid. Perhaps you could raise your head from the bong just for a second, and gaze blankly at the screen, and make whatever point you're attempting to squeeze out, quickly, and THEN return to communing with the Gods of Bhang.

What exactly is wonderful about being "Blonde"
ScottSA replied to RB's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Colonialism is not even a tiny bit behind this practice. Colonialism was certainly aided by it, but it was by no means the cause of any of it. -

Care to explain what you meant here then: "But as European nations invaded the world, the leaders of the conquered lands were white, so lighter skin was associated with power. Again, it wasn't because they found lighter skin more "pleasing." -
I don't know what you think you're going to accomplish with this nonsense Mikey, nor why you're doing it. Perhaps it's to make up for your failings as a man? I dunno, but why don't you drop the charade and don the goatsuit?

Canadian Dollar at Parity with the US Dollar
ScottSA replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The immediate reason is a .5 lowering of interest rates to accomodate the mortgage crisis. A number of other factors converged to magnify the immediate reaction. As to Canada having "none of those problems," just watch. Canada's economy is essentially dictated by the US economy, so if it goes into a tailspin, we'll be about 10 minutes behind it, as will the rest of the world. -

Your history is simply made up. The silly worship of white skin predates colonialism by millenia, and it IS in fact universal. It just fits your desire to wear a hair shirt to blame colonialism for it. For God's sake, even the pre-Columbian Aztec legend of Quetzalcoatl posits him as white, and you can hardly blame colonialism for that. If you take the time to actually read about it instead of trying to place the blame on dead white males and accepting non-sensical revisionism at face value, you'd find that out. For the folks who have trouble understanding what I'm saying here; I'm not claiming white skin is better than anyone else's hide. Quite the contrary in fact, but Jb seems to be having some problems understanding that, so perhaps others are too. I'm simply pointing out some inconvenient truths, to paraphrase a dolt.
