Interview with Honourable Stéphane Dion
noahbody replied to Greg's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Mr. Dion, Can you assure voters that, if you became PM, your environmental plan would not include the purchasing of credits from other countries? If not, what is the highest value of credits that you feel would be reasonable to expect? Also, if this is the case, please explain how the purchasing of credits from other countries has any affect on the environment. -

That's because it's prooven. -
Cancel that. Apparently it was Ron Wood. http://www.canada.com/edmontonjournal/news...ca04&k=9143 But it looks like the band was 'associated' with the Hell's Angels. So the need for the Ron Wood Inquiry stands. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolling_Stones

Maybe we should call a Mick Jagger inquiry just in case he knows something.

I'm not defending Outlaw Bikers, I'm just saying the likelyhood of a security concern in this instance is somewhere around zero once you put her associations into perspective. Did you get this worked up when Chretien put Gagliano in his cabinet after he was red-flagged for having direct associations with the maffia? How would you characterize that one? This might be news to you, but the sponsorship scandal was organized crime. You defend the organization responsible with almost every post. Holy ^&*^ man, wake up.

It will also be interesting how much she's offered to pose in Playboy. I'll buy that one, but only for the articles, honest.

She wasn't travelling on a special passport. http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/stor...0530?hub=Canada

Note to CSIS and RCMP: Association, past or present, doesn't necessarily make one a security threat. Remember that whole Arar thingy?
-
Well if you want to use your imagination, since Coulliard was suspected by biker gangs of being friendly with police, maybe she has been a CSIS agent working undercover (no pun intended) all along. The maffia that infiltrated government under Chretien has now corrupted CSIS and has set this whole thing up to create trouble for their rivials the Hell's Angels. Glad we got that beer and popcorn money. Can't wait for the movie.

It's all how you frame the question. If you look at the details she wasn't much of a threat and that threat no longer exists. Is there any evidence a crime has been committed? No. Have the RCMP check her phone records and confiscate her computer, I don't care. Just don't hold some grand inquiry at taxpayers' expense just for political gain. I find it a bit odd you're so concerned with organized crime, since the government you voted for were guilty of it.

Sirois, the one to whom she was married, became an informant so there's really no connection with organized crime there. The previous boyfriend is dead. As far as other associations: As I mentioned earlier, you don't do attempt to break up your wedding or kill you a favour. And in this case, there's really no favour to be had, since the Hell's Angel's aren't likely interested in foreign affairs. http://network.nationalpost.com/np/blogs/p.../08/169434.aspx

Miller aims to ban handguns, shut ranges
noahbody replied to WarBicycle's topic in Local Politics in Canada
IMO, the idea of stiff penalties if you commit a crime while in possession of a handgun makes more sense. A ban doesn't reflect reality. -
The loan he was given to purchase CSL would have been unattainable without political influence according to a PM tv biography. I can likely find a cite online for you later. Are the Liberals now referring to government as "a family company"? CSL. I can get you a citation later. Should take about 30 seconds, but my dentist is calling. And I always smile when I read your posts.

Paul Martin Jr wouldn't have a shipping empire in the first place if it wasn't for political influence. Of course, his sons didn't have to work as staffers, they were given their father's company to avoid conflict of interest and avoid paying taxes. Can you imagine if the Tory's gave millions in contracts to one of their MP's sons or daughters? My god, you'd have a field day. In any event, with all the concern that the Hell's Angels want to infiltrate government to learn what's going on in NATO, maybe nepotism is a good idea. The security of Canada is at stake.

Now that you mention it, the sons of Paul Martin didn't do too badly.
