  1. I want to point out the the "we run on wind power claim other provinces suck thing" BC and Qubec run almost entirly on Hydro power. Why the fuck would they need wind they both export engery they have so much.
  2. Do you think the production of those cars is any cleaner? What a hypocrate. You know the computer you are typing on uses something 7 times the water to produce than a car to be produced? It also creates a huge amount of green house gases to be produced.
  3. Pollution WatchAccording to the link, Canada's GHG emissions were about 760 million tonnes in 2004 (all GHG from all sources). [Does that make sense?] The top five GHG producers are there because of coal and they burn coal to produce electricity. Canadians must pay more for electricity. It would be in Quebec's interest to charge more for electricity in Quebec, consume less electricity in Quebec as a result and sell the surplus to Ontario. Syncrude Canada, Suncor Energy Inc. Oil Sands. Actaully both oil sand companies and combined looks like the 3rd largest in Canada.
  4. 950,000 people have died of malaria since the ban, which could be controlled with DDT pesticides. You tell me. Is it the Eagles or the Africans? Or they could cover up open water near villages. I am telling you that have sprayed DDT's in africa and it only helps for so many years. It isn;t a mircle pesticide it is like all others and if you spray it constiantly your not going to be killing anything in a short time. Fact is in Africa the best way to control malaria is to cover water and dig drainage ditches for open water you know cause those are long term solutions the ones which are reallly needed. Not short term expensive ones.
  5. Not true. That's correct. Simply, undeniably false and untrue. That above statement makes my angry and emotional. You are just repeating what they want you to think. If we desperately needed them then why is our unemployment rate so high? , And this creates underemployment and lower wages for us that got educations here in Canada. Lol... wowwww... do your research on this issue and you'll be amazed at how wrong you are on this topic. That is an outright lie that the Liberal party and 'establishment' of Canada wants you to beleive. Our economy is already in collapse and underemployment is rampat here in Canada. Do you know how our healthcare system is deteriorating with 8 month waiting lists? The same is happening with the lives of the average Canadian. I do beleive in immigration, but only if there are work shortages and only for those that come here under worker permits. We do not have any job shortages and quite the opposite have a very high unemployment rate compared to the US. We also have massive, massive, underemployment crisis. I have no problem with immigrants. They are just taking advantage of an easy system to get them out of the third world. My problem is with our gov't that continues to allow this destructive policy that destroys our quality of life. I'm against any immigrant that was here since 1975 and onward. Tell me if you see a pattern in these historic Canadian unemployment percents. 1975 7.1 1974 5.4 1973 5.6 1972 6.3 1971 6.4 1970 5.9 1969 4.7 1968 4.8 1967 4.1 1966 3.6 1965 3.9 Oh yah this stat looks good it is only 30+ years old. How about posting the last ten years maybe, and how about talking a good amount of unemployment spikes are due to iundusty and resource crash not what you are tallking about at all.
  6. And Green Party and NDP. Remember a lot of loyalist Liberals voted elsewhere because of the sponsorship. They'll be back too. It's widely reported that the NDP/Liberal split brought the Conservatives into a lot of ridings. Then there's Harper in Quebec. Don't fool yourself. They hate him. To be honnest the choice of Dion has split my vote again unless he comes off better this is one guy who will vote NDP.
  7. The Ban on DDT's isn't becuase it is harmful to humans let's get that out of the way right now. The ban is becuase it was whipping out birds and other animals. The claim the ban on DDT's has killed more humans than blah blah blah is just crazy talk. The biggest problem with pesticides is they are useless after a time because the pest your are tragetting adapt.
  8. To say one pesticide is worse then another is not to make the guys arguement which was pesticides are harmful any less true.
  9. WSJ If we had it your way we would ignore all environmental science. Those who predict weather and Earthquakes better watch out they are out to get you don;'t belive them. Those who spoke of the Ozone layer just made that shit up. Acid rain and the dieing of fish in rivers, oh and mercury all just jibber jabber. So according to you we should ignore all science because some people got it wrong. PS. Your list isn;t even right. Let's go: Global famine-You;re telling me their aren;t starving people in the world? Overpopulation-This isn;t a science thing it is a political thing and it goes back hundreds of years with mostly politicians speaking of it. Natural resource exhaustion-Ummm not only is oil running out and prices going threw the roof. Water is hard pressed to be found in many nations, as well as food and in some even trees. That one is a known truth The evils of pesticides-Montreal Protocol banned like 20 pesticides that were killing you know everything. This one is a truth. Global cooling-Trend of a much bigger global warming not enough data at the time though
  10. A Carbon tax would tax all GHG emissions including those of smog ie your SOx's. It doesn;t target anything but bisuness much as the labour taxes only target bisuness.
  11. Forget about predicting the accounting. What if a carbon tax created a political back-lash that pitted one group of Canadians against an other group? What if, as a result, some Canadians decided to declare independence? I think that would be good. Would that be good for Canadians? I think so. I don;t think Canadians understand how a carbon tax turly works, It isn't just "more taxes on industry" it is something that used with lowering of labour taxes. It creates room for not only growth in industry but a gaol for industry to lower carbon and new jobs because of the lower tax on labour. If such a tax pitted one of Canadians aginst another it would be for no other reason than one of Canadians can't read books. The rub is you would be primarily taxing one industry to finance lowering taxes in all industries. More likely it would just mean a vast transfer of capital from that one industry into the coffers of the Federal Government to be spent on who knows what. Almost all business uses Carbon in some way. It is just a different Tax system instead of taxing labour you put the tax on Carbon leaving it to those who do the business and make the waste to come up with soluations thus saving money for themselves. It is not a bullseye on Alberta or business it is a different way to tax business while thinking of the enviroment at the sametime.

  13. A carbon Tax would not be bad for Canada if it is fallowed by a sharp cut in labour Taxes. It makes companies responcible with out putting them under, and also makes room for more jobs.
  14. No the native population who have all the same rights as the french populations in Qubec voted that in a Qubec speration as a distintic people and Nation with in themselves they would stay in Canada. This was a 1995 vote before the seperation vote you wouldn't have top defend anything.
  15. ANY Canadian that votes for the Liberals based on environment doesn't have the mental capacity to vote. Does no one remember the record the Liberals have on environment? How emissions skyrocketed faster than ever before, how toxic waste sites increased and how more reserves than ever (well, since the white man came) don't have drinking water? People are going to vote for the Liberals on environment why? What are they doing different this time? Nothing!! How easily people are convinced by empty rhetoric... The liberals may do little on the environment but the conservatives are doing absolutely nothing and have made it clear that they will never move a finger while our environment is ravaged by their friends. When it comes to choosing the lesser of two evils, the liberals are definitely it. What's that their are at least 2 other parties besides the liberals and conservatives in Canada? Who and those two other parties actually have an enviromental agenda? Jeez sounds like if you care about the enviroment than stop acting like we livein a two party system.
  16. I've taken stats courses too. So what. I'm sure Strategic Council has people twice as smart at it than you and me put together. I've pointed out your errors once and don't wish to argue the poll with you any longer. Well first of all it is the Strategic Cousel, next let me point this out they have a history of having margin of above 5% for all provinces but yet only 2-3 or three for the whole country so there is some fancy math going on there.
  17. Not according to the story: By my calculation, that's 1/4 from Quebec (a little less, actually) not 1/3. And a margin of error is existent in every poll. It doesn't invalidate the poll. Your "+-10%" comment is nonsense. 2/3 of the poll was from ontario and quebec with margin of error of 6.3 and 5 in Ontario pretty much the only provinces focused on. It is a flawed poll becuase it is assumed the rest of the country which recived 1/3 polling for 8 other provinces are static they aren't. In the only provinces they polled it is +/-5.8 margin of error that is the difference the liberals are winning by. It is just stuipd to take this seriously. You're changing your story now. But nevermind. Just look at the national poll result. 37 - 31 % Liberals over CPC, MOE only 3.1% Deal wit I personally am a card carrying NDPer. I am also a major in Biolgy and math with several stats courses under my belt this poll is flawed. 3.1% isn;t the number that matters the number that matters here is those in Quebec and Ontario those are the only provinces to assume to have a change in their numbers, the Margin of error of 3.1% is over repersented because it is assumed there would be no change in the rest of Canada. Your looking at a real margin of error of 5-6% which is what the libs lead the CPC by. I am telling it is foolish to this seriously.

  19. Cause it was 1000 people 1 third of them from quebec which also is given the highest error rate in the poll. Basically take this poll +/-10% from any party that is how acturate this is. That was me it was more like 2/3 from quebec and ontario, they just assumed the rest of the country is static.
  20. Link Yah the poll was 1000 canadians in qubec and ontario that isn't even canada. BS!
  21. Fact is he has to grab votes everywhere he can get them and right now I am not convinced.
  22. It's a party leadership race, would the Liberal's ever give every person in Canada the right to vote because they think their the "natural governing party". When I was back home we had bottle depots for people to recycle. Alberta's probably greener than Ontario. Yah with oil sands production plants in Alberta being allowed to put out a maxium of polluatants which is more than Nova Scotia power one would wonder why Alberta is seen as non green. Oh its becuase two oil sands companies are allowed to put out more polluants than a whole provinces power supplying industry.
