  1. Ya think so huh? Nope, never said that. Thanks for trying though
  2. They have to be between those two numbers all year. IN the summer they can go over or under but have to amend by the fall. Actually that was not edited out of my reply and made to seem I said that, but you had earlier. Misquote NO mention. And I will tell you why. Winnipeg. Pure and simple. Winnipeg. After the debacle of Ballsillie and RIM, whereby he shot his mouth off and had tickets printed and adverts up and was seen yakking it up with every reporter he could find, it did not sit well with the Governers nor with Bettman. Bettman is a prickly little shit , and a fantastic head of the NHL, but he would not stand to be bullied publically and shot down the idea of Balsillies Kitchener fantasy NHL team. Now we come to Winnipeg. Most everyone in the country had no fricken' clue that Winnipeg had done all the work they did behind the scenes. The owners in Winny talked to Bettman all the time, Apprised him of their wishes and how they would go about it, all done on the QT. When Bettman saw the plan, met the good folks behind it, reviewed their monetary sources, saw the corporate interest (againa all done quielty)he was impressed. So (IIRC) Bettman said 'Ok , go public and if you get 10,000 (or more cant recall) seasonstickets sold in 48 hours, you ARE IN" I trhink they sold out in less than a half day and had to cut off more requests. The Jets could have sold almost every damn ticket as a season ticket, but that left no ticks for anyone else. So Vegas has the Torontonian poker (Negreano) play in on this, among others. And they are well versed in the Winnipeg strategy on how to do it right. SO thats why no mention in that document. Besides it isnt a stretch to think that Hockey could be played there. Now couple that with a few other unique issues with Vegas and it isnt har to see what it is slow to develop. The NFL, MLB, NBA have all kept out of Vegas because of gambling and the associated risks inherent with the two being in the city.(Not to mention in the past LV was Adults only, thats now changed) Do you recall the Raptors having issues when gr5anted a team and the NBA said you have to stop the sports lotto if you do want a team? The NHL followed suit and stayed away. But with the advent of betting becoming commonplace everywhere and not just Vegas, the thinking is that the time has come to look into a team there.
  3. How you get that from "Courts decide that, and they have parameters that must be met" is beyond me.Society doesnt decide. Do you wilfully ignore the fact that Courts have a system to follow as respects religious garb/holidays and so on that must be met? Nice combover on the Swastika and KKK hoods being religious. I didnt miss that GIANT ommission in your post.
  4. Nope. The general public is for the most part made up of a bunch of idiots, especially when it comes to the Court and sentences. The public thinks they know what went on in a trial, thinsk they know the facts, but when questioned they either stray from an answer or offer bugger all else in the way of facts. We ALL know about Karla and her nasty deeds. Plenty of people are confident she got off because we are too lenient in this country. But if the facts get laid out, they are wisened to what actually went on. Tell the same people that if you bought something then showed up the next day to get it and the seller said "oh I need another $1000' ...they get pissed. I get the Lexus court Docs in the mail, the trial of the Eaton Centre -Jane Criba shooting was an amazing case for this analogy. I consider myself soomeone who can read well and keep things organized in a story. This case? Holy shite it was so very hard to keep who was who and who did what I am amazaed they got even one conviction let alone all of them. It is my estimation that the gen'l public doesnt know much about the justice system and all they seem to want is long long sentences for anything.
  5. Good gawd man you keep on these tangents that are worthless. I have already said I could not care any less what someone shows up in garb wise for the ceremony. You're the one who made the connection, wrongly of course, that a KKK and Swastika are religious garb. And make no mistake, if someone claimed that nudity was part of thier religion (as has been done) the courts didnt agree since he could not prove it was any relative or basic tenet of any religion nor found to be even remotely connected to the religion. NOt at all. The Courts decide that, and they have parameters that must be met. Meet those and all is fine.
  6. I am not so sure. In some instances there is hyperbole among the newspaper writers as to the extent of the problem. For instance. if the papers reported every day about a welfare cheat, it wpouldnt be long before people thought we had a welfare cheating problem. We dont. The papers report so much about Muslims and bombings and muslim bombings that the same scenario presents itself. Most of the reports are for outside of canada which tends to skew the concerns for those inside Canada. Now it exists that some orthodox folks are intolerant to those around them, and some are much quieter about it than others are. So no, I am not ready to concede that there is anything drastically greater in one than any of the others. I firmly believe that any intolerance is countered by acceptance from others of the new life they have . In this case I mean the kids and grandkids.
  7. What religion is that/those?
  8. Most religions have some intolerance built into them. Various orthodox religious types send there kids to 'their' schools and only 'their' schools. For the most part this is not a concern for anyone, but it appears for a few that it does.
  9. That came across rather poorly and did him no favours going forward. Some of his frankness could easily be called bitterness. Kind of pathetic really. He was paid to coach and to win, he failed at both. I think Ron's pay is up, thats why he can talk now and couldnt in the past.
  10. LOL! Another who didnt understand the post. You I can understand missing the point......
  11. There is a max and a min. Currently that is at $69 and $51. Most are at or near the cap at all times. You're saying Bettman is responsible for Canadians liking hockey? Cant do it, no tenant makes enough money to pay the rent and lose out on all the other income generating they need to thrive. The owners of the rink will be owner of the team.
  12. We dont. They are blocked by CDN commercials. Only on superchannels do they come thru
  13. Oh so now we poick and choose which religions are good and bad? Wow, did you ever miss the point of the comparison. LOL. Neither do Muslims. Talk about irrelevant. Maybe next time stop and think?....naw.,... Dont know about bigot, but this post clearly is marked silly and moronic. Maybe next time you wont miss the point and look oh so foolish.
  14. No worries mate. They aren't.
  15. How so? How does Bettman manage the points system to ensure these so called 'Bettman CDN team matchups' ?
  16. "cept that doesnt happen. Know what does? Idiotic Americans who stupidly spout Buy American and havent got two brain cells to rub together to figure out Toyota Nissan and Honda make them in America. Them foreigners are too stupid to learn.
  17. Sorry...that against the law. And hey.....not even subject to review by the SCC .............yet.
  18. Worked out fine for Canada. The rules werent retroactively changed to allow this man in. NO ONE is saying this guy doesnt have the wherewithall, it is just that he wasnt a member of any of the three he HAD to be in order for the appt to proceed. Our IT guy here has no formal IT education. MAn can fix every damn problem pretty handily. He could not get a job in a upper echelon IT environment though, even if his smarts are on par or superior to those already there.
  19. Oh man....so Harper trying to retroactively changing the rules is good governance? You stepped in it, go clean off your shoe.
  20. No sir , it is you who is whining since it didnt work out for you nor Harper.
  21. You are also on record for liking people to get shot running away. Your support is idiocy. But you are welcome to an idiotic viewpoint.
