  8. While the calls of racism are sometimes in dispute, it is far easier to see sexism demonstrated. When used here, it is done to demean rather than win arguments.

  16. There are also vehicles that will be built in Canada and they are a big chunk of the change. Maintenance contracts are also part of those figures. According to Gordon O"Connor's speech, it will mean billions spent in Canada.
  17. At some point this week, the Ontario government will have to respond to the judge. He is very much correct about a vacuum in the law. No one is asserting authority over the area at present. At some point it will boil over and the lack of a police presence gives both sides permission free reign. If it is Six Nations territory, they should arrest the the Caledonians for illegally trespassing on their land. If it is Ontario land, the police should remove or arrest the protesters for violating the court order.
  18. We'll see what happens in the next days. The provincial government and the police are obligated to enforce a court order. Unless the federal government steps in, which they have shown no indication of doing, the provincial judge has jurisdiction of land that is claimed by Ontario.
  19. It might be enough to keep the Democrats from winning in Connecticut although it is a fairly Democratic state.
  20. This is the problem that Ontario faces. They assert authority over the land in question so if they don't carry out the court order, they will be found in contempt themselves.
  21. It might come down to that. I think the province is reluctant to do that but now if they try negotiation, they are in violation of a court order. So either the govenment appeals or they have to carry out the court order.
  22. They can travel to the U.S. freely with no passport for now. http://www.canadanorth.usvpp.gov/first_nations.asp However, the new security rules will entail that they might indeed need a passport despite the Jay Treaty. If they travel to other countries though, they must have a Canadian passport.
