I've said before, men forcing women to wear head scarfs is an utter form of child abuse and brainwashing. So much so that we don't even understand how abusive it is becuse it's so foreign to us. Here are men forcing women to cover their hair and stand out (un desiriably) in society, and where are the feminists? Here we have men forcing women who they will get married to. My own friend from school now living in a basement apt with a husband who is overweight, unatractive, and has health problems. This girl is very, very, pretty and had so much life ahead of her. Now she can't even eat out a resturaunt anymore. She was the same one I couldn't drop off infornt of her home and duck in my car incase her Dad saw me. All that mattered to her family was that he was a Jatt Sikh and the boys parents had a big house. The girls in Montreal are much, much more integrated I find. I'll be spending time there again the Christmas.

I would disagree with that. Racism and Xenephobia are rampat with minorities in Canada and second gen Canadians to the point where almost 50% of second gen kids do NOT identify themselves as Canadian. This is a direct result of the parents. I have many, MANY.. no.. the overwhellming majority of second gen people I know would never marry you because of your skin color, race, religion, or creed. This ultimately is passed down by the parents. I would call this racism very, very widespread indeed.

Ok I'll spell it out for you since I have years and years of direct, personal experience with Immigrants and their kids. The main gap between us and them, is that we have children to bring a child into the world and help them along through life. They, on the other hand, have kids in order to have the children help THEM. It's backwards; The children help the parents. Not the parents help the children. For instance, 3 seperate ex gf's would send their paychecks home to their parents. One girl had a direct deposit to her mom in Vancouver. So when she was paid from Health Canada, the paycheck would go directly into her moms account. This was to help pay for the mortgage she could not afford. She had two seperate apt's in the basement. Anything not to work. You depend on the children to give money to you and pay the mortgage. This is how it's done all over South Asia. I'm not sure about China. The children are like cattle. They are are something to have around that will benefit you one day and look after you. In order to further the wealth of your family, you arrange a marriage like slaves to another family. This is not for the benefit of the children, but again, the parents. If you have a boy, the boy is more able to get a job on a farm and bring in money. Women are just caregivers and cannot find work becuase they are physically weaker and lower paid. This is how it is in the 3rd world. It's a mans world to a large extent in the 3rd world despite what the CBC have think. So in order to marry a boy, the girl has to pay money to the boys family. This a burden on the family. If you have a boy though, many families will be chasing you down for marriage. Now the girl, especially in an Islamic family, must be pure and prestine. She must be a virgin. pretty, skinny, have a submissive attitude, and be very well educated. The man can be a fat slob and in a bedroom unemployed and he'll STILL be treated like a king because the marriage is not so much for the kids, but rather the parents. Now you ask 'but they are in Canada now and we don't have that society'. It doesn't matter. That is how the parents have been raised to think. Most likely Aqsa had a bf, was interested in exploring her sexuality (or already explored it), was hanging around evil black and white poeple, possibly smoking. We don't know. When a daughter does this, rumors spread like wild fire and the whole family is shamed and becomes undesired in the community. Trust me. Because the daughter is being rebelious, the WHOLE FAMILY will suffer and get a smeared reputation as a 'bad family'. We had some in Ottawa. A divorce is a way to gain this reputation. A rebellious daughter is another. Since their family cluster had a damaged repution in their stoneage community, there now becomes reason for an 'honor killing' which is common place back home. There are services that will take your children away and auction them off for marriage. If someone is causing trouble for the family, you kill them to protect the rest of the family so you doin't become undesiriable. When they get caught doing this over there, they get a small slap on the wrist. It's understandable becuase the judges, police, and others are in the same culture and situations. The children are treated like human cattle. It happens here in Canada. Marriage is to benefit the parents. They are farm stalk. Butter chicken and bollywood is not a cultural practice. Telling kids who they are going to marry is. Arranged marriage and forcing women to wear hijabs are both forms of human slavory and should be outlawed in Canada. This would make MANY of these problems go away. But it's not Canada's role as a country to try to change the practices of people who are still of the stoneage. We just need to protect our borders and only let people in that are of a benefit to us.

I disagree. There is beating and abuse, and then honor killing because a family member is dishonouring your family. There is the mentality that it's ok to stangle one of your children to death. It's not an easy task to strangle someone to death and she wasn't a very frail girl either. He must have really had to sufficate her a controlled manner until she 'drowned'. This one girl in Vancouver who was friends with my ex gf (very, very pretty i might add) was pushed down the stairs by her father and got a broken arm because she was dating 'a boy'. And this boy was also south asian as she was. She was like 22 years old. Another Sikh girl in Ottawa was seen dating another south asian boy at 20 years old and her Dad litterally trapped her in the house for a year. No joking. She eventually got an arranged marriage to a dentist in Punjab who was 10 years older than her. He came here and got rejected from every school he applied to and then worked at tim hortons and didn't tell anyone and then the family started to question his credentials. Another of my friends I had to drop off down the street all the time because she couldn't be seen with boys. She was caught dating a boy once (another south asian) and her Dad wouldn't talk to her for a whole year. Her parents then got her a cel phone and they would call her constantly and tell her to come home. He dad was a cabbie in ottawa. When we passed by another cab, she would duck down incase it was one of her Dad's friends. Another Sikh family I know caught the turban wearing son smoking at 16 years old. I'm absultely not making this up. They kicked him out of the house and he ended up at the Royal Ottawa hospital. (a mental hospital) and he disowned his son. Then the father moved out and took a job in Florida and left the family. Then after the son moved back in. That was a very hard time for one of my best friends family. Her mom had to go on medication. The father has a picture in his living room of him shaking hands with Jean Chretien. Another girl I know (and dated) got a scholarship to Waterloo's engineering program. She was never allowed outside the house in Ottawa. She moved to waterloo, she dated a white guy roomate. The guy cheated on her. She failed out of school because she was too busy partying and discovering life (never given freedom before to leave the home in Ottawa). So then she decided to work and drop out of school and not tell her parents and wanted to continue to live in Waterloo. The Dad found out and came in a van and picked her up and brought her hom at 22 years old where she then became a slave in Ottawa not allowed to go out. The parents are currently trying to arrange a marriage with her and she's still single.

They think they own our systems and our above our laws. That's the way they think. They think this country is based off the glorification of xenephobic cultures. A few weeks back we visited this immigrant south asian family and the Dad of the family kept cutting my fiance off every time she would talk. It was very blaring. It's a cultural issue. Sikh's have killed their daughters too. As far as Islam is concerned, you can twist that to viewpoint you want.

But don't you see, the police did NOTHING. The police protected NO ONE. They loiter our streets to harass law abiding citizens. The man killed his daughter becuase he knew he would get away with it in the court system. These groups believe that because they have members of their religious groups in our political/legal system, that they can get away with anything. The immigrants think Canadians are more tolerant then they really are and they become so segregated that they believe their numbers of representation are far higher then they really are. I agree. These groups have almost gotten Shariah law into our legal code and have almost gotten their own schools. They have already hijacked many, many, many ridings in our political system. They are now trying to claim a hospital. There aren't the signs of 'the times', these are examples the third world coming to Canada, too many, too fast. Also the signs of a broken immigration system.

Wow I'm sorry that our gov't did this to you. You are a victim in this. Can't they just give you jail time of a couple of months to forgive the debt? My brother had to give our criminal gov't $3,800 in taxes and penalties this year becuase they accused my brother of cheating taxes without taking it to trial or even hearing us out. There was simply no way to get a hold of the tax dept. Then there would be immigrants on the other end at CRA with those jobs laughing at him the very same way. Meanwhile we're funding his sorry *ss. Anyhow, if you truly are homeless, the best advice I can give is to cross the border to the US. Become homeless there. Make a story that you were always homeless and you were born in some hospital over there. They will think you are American because you look and sound the part. They will issue you a new social id card and you will be a new US citizen. Put the past behind you and keep it your secret. Make up a new name identity. Immigrants do this in Canada on a daily basis so don't feel any shame.
