  1. When someone begins to bend or make up the reality it's time to end a reasonable conversation. I just hope it's worth it for you, gives you something important in exchange, anything. I mean, letting go of this reality and honesty not really a small thing.
  2. One cannot argue with blindness, of sight and the mind. If you're ready to accept anything as normal you're only choosing the new normal for yourself. Nobody is to blame and no one to stick it to. And by the way, only factually, you are also lying now, in public too - didn't notice? He did not only "offer". He also threatened and he interfered in the affairs of a close ally. And he didn't exclude the use of force. The new standard of honor in the service, or only individual? Careful where this readiness to accept every ugliness could and will take you but of course, always a free choice.
  3. Ah but they need to feel proud in their ugliness and stupidity. But what else? A high speed train? World-class health care for an average citizen? Best in the world life expectancy? Safe streets and schools? That kind of pride, make no mistake.
  4. The question is, why the statements? Either he's very very dumb to throw up a lot of mud and when it settles meet his disenchanted and disinterested following when it came to nothing. Or he's testing and preparing ground for something. Which one? Can we just hope for the best or gamble?
  5. Are you f-ing kidding "emotional"? Hitler: give me Sudeten and Poland I need it for my security. Putin: give me Ukraine I feel threatened. Trump: give me Greenland for my security. Denmark is a founding member of NATO, how many more times? Who is blind or dumb here, which one? to miss the difference? Because he's such a smoochy fata$$ he's only kidding us lovingly right?
  6. As seen from here, two main scenarios are possible. He throws up a lot of mud and chaos to see who and where will budge and show something real to his base for the initial period. Sure renaming and chasing immigrants will keep some of them entertained for a while, especially the fascist psycho kind but some will get bored seen nothing of the promised paradise and nirvana of instant prosperity. Surely if sane people stand together soft talking but never budging he'll have to pedal back, like from the tariff wars or Greenland, etc. with nothing real to show for all the bombastic chatting. He can be hoping to score a quick point on Ukraine with some stinky deal with Vlad at her expense, but may see a surprise there too. So some of his following may begin asking questions. And that brings up another possibility: what if he tries to follow on with more sinister plans? We absolutely have to ask it ourselves because most certainly his gang has been and is asking it, and devising plans for it. And this angle makes the situation highly uncertain and dangerous. I've no idea what political establishment is thinking or even where looking, but the appearance is that it would just fold up in a snap.
  7. Yes you are in fact his fan and you're peddling Putin's lies and the supposed "deal" was nothing better than Munich 1938 which led to the consequences every sane person in the world knows or should.
  8. The playbook was written 100 years ago. Not a single note or letter, different.
  9. Well, as of this minute, there's no confirmed information that the military aid has stopped. But it's the clearest, quite possibly, the final test to watch very closely.
  10. It's "clever" only in a very special virtual universe painted in one's happy imagination. And in this reality who would want to deal with a totally unpredictable volatile erratic whose demands and policies can change randomly and on a dime? Remember that word "reason"? People will seek better partners and that could be the end of the alliance. One thing we cannot assume, not without some serious evidence that those people do want and seek to keep the alliances of old, rather then undermine, torpedo and destroy them. What would be that evidence, have you seen it? Or want to take it on faith because they never lied?
  11. Who will "lead"? A bozo with a burglar style of communications will lead the alliance of free nations? That happens, where in what reality?
  12. The playbook is the same. It doesn't take much to look back and reread it.
  13. It's wise and sophisticated to "manipulate" the allies, including by direct threats not excluding military force, in such a way that completely undermines mutual trust and respect? And what's left of the "alliance" then? It's quite possible that for Trump it would be the intended and desired outcome, we cannot know who are his genuine sympathies and alliances with. But what about all those who like to dismiss it as some funny innocent antics? What would they end up with, when the alliances are weakened and/or destroyed?
  14. To remind, we are talking about threats, not excluding violence, to closest allies, founding members of NATO. "I need that so just give it to me". And we aren't short of the samples, right here who can't wait to explain, rationalize and apologize it. Just watch it, write down what's there to add, live. This is exactly how it happened back then. Still wondering?
  15. This is indeed as important test as we will ever see in the immediate span: will America under Trump abandon her long-standing principles and join with the worst dictator scum of the world, like Putin and Kim? There's no way anyone could misinterpret the results of this observation. And it looks possible or even likely that the group controlling the cult is holding it ready as the final drive to bend all of the Congress Republicans to its will effectively taking control over the legislature. 1933 would smell so much closer.
  16. Is that the solid, empirical conclusion now? Innocence, absence of precedents could have been used as excuses the last time, 92 years ago but where are such excuses now? None. Simply, they are already corrupt. They are prepared by their existence to do it. Lindsey Graham, Republican: "releasing Jan 6 convicts was wrong". Sure, the history will record that. One of a few, an infinitesimal fraction who spoke out. Saved his legacy, standing and honor. But it's not all of the story and not by far. The duty and obligation was not only to say some words but to act. The duty was to protect the society, democracy and Constitution against this existential threat! The duty was to condemn the criminal mastermind not acquit him and encourage to come back for more. The duty was to keep him away from the politics, for good. All failed. There's nothing here to praise nor to be proud of. Formal politics will be the first to swallow then to fold to any atrocity. Now a solid, empirical fact.
  17. Republican party first gave in to, then fully embraced an anti-democracy, fascist cult. This is how it's going into history. Come back, from this thing?
  18. Physical threats too by brainless goons and media hosts. Where's anything new here? The question is, who is more disgusting: those who plan and participate in it? or those who will try to look away and pretend that nothing much is happening till at all possible and then against their eyes?
  19. Not really: he's playing out the old playbook. Appoint a visible scapegoat. Tickle misplaced national pride. Throw some threats around in a show of power. All the old, familiar staples. And the political system is sleepwalking right into it. Astounding and disgusting. A total and accomplished decay of duty, integrity and morality under the blanket of formal processes. Just like the last time.
  20. You're explaining an unacceptable and in all objectivity, unimaginable behavior toward an ally by some straw "causes"? You want to ignore and overlook the essence of it? "You have to give me your land for my security" is a staple from the playbook of aggressive dictators like Hitler and Putin. That you seem to be ready to dismiss it and accept as normal or explainable speaks nothing rational, but only about you. You are ready to accept fascism and what if embrace it further down the way, if there's a good "reason" that you could play to yourself? This is how the things are with you, where's a mistake? Have a mirror nearby?
  21. No disagreement here, rational thinking is the best way to approach such problems.
  22. "You have to give me your land for my security" is a staple from the playbook of aggressive dictators like Hitler and Putin. It's beyond comprehension that the only party, presumably on the side of normality and law would stay silent and cozy about that. Unbelievable. Is it what a total dereliction of duty, decay and corruption look like? Simply beyond any comprehension.
  23. Democrats have been super mum too. The silence of lambs, 2.0? A terrible mystery.
  24. I cannot understand people who post random links as "proof" of anything. Are they the same one who respond positively to a total stranger in the street, "here I've got this pure gold pin for only $10 just for you"? With this kind of mindset democracy is impossible. Not a chance in a million, just zero. F@ck yourself up success rate 100.00%.
  25. Are you living in your own detached reality? Once again, we're discussing here the open threats to a NATO ally, not ruling out the use of force. One more time? Should I rephrase?
