Arrogant? I was just being objective. OP asked a question. Shady answered. I confirmed Shady's explanation and cited scripture. The cited scripture is required reading of all members and has been the same from the very beginning. Ergo, nobody has an excuse. That is OK because nobody is penalized. You are all just being reminded for the upmteenth time. Me neither. With each of your deletions, you were sent a Personal Message with an explanation and a request that you put more effort into your Opening Posts. Twice. Now, a simple public explanation without judgement is made and that is not sufficient for you. You were never suspended for voicing your opinion. You just defined all members of the forum to be smart enough. Unfortunately, starting a topic with just a link leads to VERY unfocussed discussion. That much should be obvious. This place is not an online news, announcements and information service. Rather, this place is a high-quality discussion forum. Everybody is expected to put effort into stimulating discussion. From the very beginning Greg has insisted upon this and did his best to enforce this standard. I believe this is the main reason why MLW is a great forum with intelligent discussion. You are either with us or against us!! Muwahaha!!

The answer to all of your questions is hidden somewhere in the Forum Rules and Guidelines. For those of you smart enough to find it, feel free to discuss. For those of you who are not smart enough to find it, here is a clue: You do not have to look very far.

I can't say for sure. It's a qualitative rule, not a hard limit.I can not say for sure either. GH, I do not care if you are breaking any "rule" in the forum because as MH said, there is no hard and fast rule. We are all bumbling forward in the evolution of internet discussion. All we want is to foster civil intelligent debate in written form ---- that is the priority. Photos and embedded media detract from this by their very nature. Just use your best judgement for now. I do not expect a change either but we are listening. I wished the forum software provided some more flexibility but alas, it does not. There are none. There are no hard and fast rules concerning the matter but Waldo has the general idea. Our moderation is purely subjective on a case by case basis. Images and embedded media are a challenge in moderating discussions. It is not easy for me because I genuinely agree with the gist of the OP here. However, more graphic content would degrade the quality of the forum because that is what people seem to do when too much media is embedded in forums. Personally, I would be much more comfortable if we disallowed all embedded imagery be it still or photoplay.
