  1. Some people here think they can gang up on me and intimidate me. Newsflash: That will be futile.

  2. Sustainable development is a key buzzword within Agenda 21. Smart growth - Smart Cities too.
  3. How can someone make someone else feel sad on this forum? Good grief, are we turning into a culture of sis-says?
  4. I have no idea what you are talking about. Do you?
  5. I get a warning for posting a picture. Good grief. Thanks for ratting me out, waldobot.

  6. I've lost much respect for Wynne.
  7. I was once a staunch supporter of Trudeau. I'm now leaning Libertarian as there will be a Libertarian option in my riding.
  8. I back down from no one. Sorry to those poor, over-sensitive souls.

Neither does Canada First. You and he should arrange a date.

  9. The comments section at the G@M speak volumes. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/ontario-to-phase-in-new-pension-plan-beginning-in-2017/article25923202/comments/
  10. Actually, the international tests, PISA and TIMMS are not testing basic traditional skills. But basic traditional skills need to be mastered to move on to higher order mathematics. It's hard for kids to solve a 4 step mathematical problem when they have to draw a diagram to figure out what 7x8 is.
  11. I don't believe in discovery/inquiry math any more. There is no solid evidence, but the spin miesters know how to spin, as you are well aware. Discovery/inquiry math was forced on us because it mad people a lot of money. The kids suffer.
  12. Actually, coming out of university, I was a big proponent of discovery/inquiry math. I guess I was brainwashed by the university faculty who told me that the discovery method was best. Who was I to challenge? I thought I was being trained by experts. Like you, I believe kids need to memorize basic facts and know how to do long division etc. But we are told not to do those things and we could be in serious trouble if we disobey our know-nothing administrators directives. It's frustrating, but we need to make a living too. No one listens to the lowly teacher who works i the trenches. We need to listen to 6 figure consultants, many of whom were failed teachers, and 6 figure administrators and superintendents. I'm as angry as anyone.

What you didn't think a fourth post would have made your dramatic and flawed claim more effective?

Are they protesting their long vacation, excellent benefits and great salary? Exactly who are these academics anyway. I have more education than most teachers, I must be one.

The three posts was an accident, Boges. I'm not sure how it happened.

  13. Take a look at this Ash, whether you like it or not. We are building a more tolerant equal society. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/white-privilege-workshop-stirs-controversy-1.2794263
  14. So you are against social justice and teaching about white privilege? What do you actually know about discovery/inquiry math? The whole country is going to the discovery method whether the government is NDP, Liberal, or PC. Discovert/inquiry math is a global initiative. I think it has something to do with Agenda 21.
  15. You fire people from what?
  16. Well, thank goodness you are not a public educator. With that attitude, you wouldn't be teaching very long.
  17. I don't see much useless crap in the curriculum. Maybe you could provide some examples. Why would you want to fail kids and damage their self-esteem for life? Why do you think that would be a good thing?
  18. Kathleen Wynne understands the value and importance of a top notch public education system and she knows she has to pay educators a good wage to attract the best to the profession. In 10-15 years, due to an excellent public education system, Ontario will once again be the economic engine that propels Canada to prosperity.
  19. I was against the neo-liberal agenda that is destroying public education. Don't speak unless you know what you're talking about, waldo.
  20. I was a strong supporter of Trudeau. His closing statement last night made me vomit. I may decline my vote this year. This will be nothing more than the same old same old. Anyone who thought Trudeau's closing statement was sincere should have his/her head examined.
  21. Would this be a big deal if it was Mulcair or Harper instead of Trudeau? http://www.therebel.media/it_s_real_and_its_disastrous

Ya so what? Am I supposed to be all freaked out about something we all knew about now? Is everyone supposed to have a bewildered look now? Ronald Regan also supported Osama Bin Laden and had his friends in the white house. Where's your wittiness now? Ronald Regan also died with dementia. Either way, the person behind socialist always forgets what the character "socialist" is at or what he wrote last time.
