  1. Alliance does not have a provincial party in Ontario Cameron.
  2. It's encouraging for a pre-election poll, but I would much rather see a United Conservative party. 19% is not going to remove the Liberals from power.
  3. What has he ever accomplished other than shrugging off the sovereignty question?
  4. Education is excellent in this country in almost every province. The problem is where Canadian youth go after they've graduated from University. Many times, it's south of the border, and this is a big problem.
  5. New poll released shows the PC's at 19% and the Alliance at 13% and Liberals at 46%.
  6. A Canadian gay couple WERE barred from the US. How is this biased? And also, that headline about Uniting the Right was a quote from David Orchard. I fail to see how it's biased.
  7. We all know how accurate online polls are.
  8. Not that I know of.
  9. If he merges, he will be doing the best thing for Canadians.
  10. I don't mind CTV NN though.
  11. CBC is not left-wing biased. They and CTV are the 2 reliable news providers in this country.
  12. I do think that Harper has what it takes to lead a United party.
  13. Why are we talking about social engineering? I created this thread to hear about everyone's thoughts on the possibility of a merger. I didn't expect it'd be hijacked by dnsfurlan and Pellaken.
  14. John Reynolds and Loyola Hearn were on Politics just a few minutes ago. Reynolds and Hearn both agreed that the PCs and Alliance would be equals in any new party. Reynolds also said "We're going to make this work, I'm convinced of it. We've come too far in this. Our negotiators will work something out." Maybe they are closer to an agreement than anyone lets on?
  15. MacKay said he wants to work towards a united Conservative party quickly in the foyer of the House of Commons less than 30 minutes ago.
  16. Peter MacKay officially said that he wants to work with the Alliance towards the creation of a Conservative party. MacKay said "Canadians want to see a united Conservative party and that is what we want to give them."
  17. Loyola Hearn MP, Don Mazankowski, Bill Davis, Scott Reid MP, and Ray Speaker are those at the negotiating tables right now. Most of the Alliance has said they are in favour of a merger. Bill Casey was asked "Do you think you could keep your seat in Atlantic Canada with Stephen Harper as your leader?" He responded "I believe I could under the Conservative party, yes." This is certainly interesting. I really hope they can make something of this, and soon! I acknowledge that Harper is a stronger leader.
  18. No Pell,
  19. Fascinating legal reasoning for sure
  20. This isn't true. The report said that these are 3 of the people involved in the negotiations on behalf of their parties.
  21. Very close vote, but marriage equality won.
  22. AF This post belongs in the US politics forum. Many people posting in CDN Politics either don't know or don't care about who is running.
