With the mid term elections coming in November, we won't see any movement except lip service till the spring of 2007..maybe. By then we maybe in an early election ourselves so we wait again.

It is always amazing to me how unsubstantiated generalizations are taken as fact by many Canadians. In BC, 73% of Aboriginals live off reserve and pay all Taxes. I am a full blood, have worked all my life and have paid well over a half million dollars in personal income taxes, plus all of the other taxes Federal and Provincial. The reason Paul Martin pulled the governace act was to settle down the national and elected chiefs, who were threatening to go to the NDP. I for one want to see more accounability not only at the band level but also at the department level. These department folks are the real incompetant welfare bums who thrive on the bands incompetance. I am a Libertarian brown skin who would love to see the majority of our governments, local, band, regional, provincial and federal reduced to just providing protection for its citizens. Allow the citizens to grow and develope as they choose as long as they do not violate the rights of their neighbors.
