  1. Read back few posts... My post about what it means to be Canadian had nothing to do with any other country... just normal stuff like going to the lake on the weekend.... It was Mr. W.A.R.U.S.A (Scotty) who figures Canadians CAN'T be proud 'cause we are not a country to "WATCH OUT!" for. And I called him on it. Tough titty.
  2. Awwwww. Used the be the whole world wanted to be like America or be in America (envy). Now the whole world just wishes America would pi** off. Too bad eh. Georgie Porgie blew it. In 2001, on 911 the world sympathized with the US. In 2003, the world watched with anger as the US invaded Iraq for no reason. In 2005, the world looked at the US in disgust to it's reaction to Katrina. From Envy to Disgust in such a short amount of time. Tsk Tsk. I suspect you are a bully because -- The only thing that makes you proud of a country is it's ability to be "watched out for!" As in... "WATCH OUT IRAN -- we're gonna getcha!" I am proud to consider myself a "Lester Pearson" type Canadian -- that means (in case you don't know) ask questions first (diplomacy, negotiation, appeasement) and shoot later (and only when absolutely necessary). The US position is shoot first ask questions later -- typical bully behaviour.
  3. Small pox infected blankets were purposely given to the native peoples. What part of "on purpose" do you not understand?
  4. haha Such a BOLD statement! Watch out! here comes Canada, they are part of the international community. hahaha!! Being part of a community doesn't mean one need be the one to "watch out! for" in my world. In your world, in your community, on your street -- I bet you are a bully, the guy to "watch out! for". Re: Inferiority -- not any more baby. Maybe a number of years ago, but today, I highly doubt if "being American" garners any envy whatsoever. Except in the minds of Candian rightwingers perhaps. Pity, anger, disgust... but certainly not ENVY.
  5. And you people are just revelling in it aren't you? WAR WAR WAR! Kill em ALL! Nuke the SOBs! No -- Let ISRAEL do it!! (*wink wink nudge nuge -- who'd yah think us warmongers meant!?) It is currently NOT known by ANYONE on this board whether or not the British were in Iranian waters. Iran is currently under threat by the very same countries who said they were part of "the axis of evil". Iran has EVERY RIGHT to be suspicious of a British military vessel sniffing around. Friggin warmongers want a world war. They FRIGGIN' WANT it.
  6. but Poly many don't have to try at all! LOL
  7. What it means to be Canadian: (to me) saving money working hard waving to your neighbours knowing hockey going to the lake on the weekend drinking clameyes asking questions and listening ...
  8. It is not "another issue". The fact that we are (largely) a secular society means that the religious nutbars have someone to answer to. For one example -- gays are no longer banned from the military. Did the christian church make this very liberal decision or did the secular (no religious affiliation) part of our society decide this? Christianity would be exactly as brutal as Islam is today if not for us non-believers -- who have been influencing (reducing) the level of religious involvement in our day to day lives for hundreds of years now. And this is a GOOD thing! One can only hope that a secular uprising will happen in ALL religious-run countries.
  9. And I, as a non-American Canadian -- am glad for this. Am glad that we don't allow American media to dominate (does anyway but at least we're makin' an effort) Hence we have cultural icon shows like: The Littlest Hobo (corny but we loved it back in the 70's) Corner Gas, W5, Passionate Eye, Canada - A People's History, Rick Mercer Report and many more. I do not understand who would have a problem protecting our Canadian culture. I prefer it over the American culture -- but hey, I am non-American ;-)
  10. Scott The only reason that Christians today are not burning witches is that OUR SECULAR society will not allow it. Secular societies keep religions in check. Many *Muslim nations do not have a secular populations to "rein in" the religious fanatics. I say thank god for the sanity of the non-believers. *IMO there should be no such thing as a "muslim nation" or a "christian nation" or a "jewish nation". These labels only cause strife with other "religious nations". I don't believe we should ban religion, but it should play absolutely no part in public affairs or foreign affairs.
  11. Did you go? Was it all fluff or did some real questions get answered? Were there protestors?
  12. (a dumb insult that cannot be backed up in any way because I back up everything I say about this topic with proven fact or unbiased expert opinion) There are many more examples but I think this, with Gregs request and my clarification of exactly what a troll is should stop a lot of this nonsense. I'll back up my statement... You've called lawyers (actually the entire legal system) Weasel Wonderland. This is what I mean by a "pathetic ranting". Not all lawyers and police officers are "bad" Poly. I believe that 911 was perpetrated by the US govt -- I believe there is a NAU being planned -- I believe floride is bad for you -- I believe our monetary system is controlled by the illuminati -- I read Rense! So you see, Dear PN, I AM on your side. But you over did it -- you've now convinced the people on this board that the "conspiracies" (and I use that term loosely as I believe we are talking FACTS) are not worth reading. Too bad, because it would be great to have a logical discussion about it.
  13. I may hate the guy down the street who sells me my chocolate (read Hollywood, Starbucks, Disneyland -- frivilous American exports) but I will still buy chocolate from him as he produces the best darn chocolate (frivilous crap) in the world!
  14. Actually, alpha dogs discipline pups by biting them on their butts. Surely you've seen this...the youngster yelps and runs away with his tail down...it hurts, but he KNOWS that he's done wrong. A lot like a spanking
  15. "War -- that's what we do"... Anyone else find this kind of disturbing -- war it's what we do... It ain't right -- but its WHAT WE DO damn it!
  16. What good is a person that age? Go to your local legion and say that. Walk in there and say "What good are you - you lazy government teatsucking seniors?!" Come on -- I dare yah. My father, aged 78, just retired last year - so those 13 years he worked beyond age 65 were an illusion? You mean he is really suffering from some kinda dimensia and never really contributed during those years? My god! Our whole family is having a delusion! We saw him go to work after 65 -- honest to god WE SAW HIM WORKING AND CONTRIBUTING! People like you do not deserve to live beyond 65. Keep eatin' butter baby.
  17. Thanks Frankie I think the most important thing a parent can do is follow through. If you say no, mean it. And don't cave when the whining begins - no matter how long it lasts! The kid will eventually realize that when you say no, you mean it. Also with spankings... dad has to go into the child's room and spank him. He said he would. A short spanking is enough... then they can talk about why dad had to do it.
  18. What makes you think I sell to the government? I sell to private businesses -- corporations, individual owner/operators, partnerships... but rarely to govt. We don't really work harder than any other people. Many people have it much, much worse. You could be pulling a rickshaw for $1/day. Each person has to be responsible for thier retirement to a certain extent. My father didn't save a penny until he was 58, twenty years later (he just retired) he has enough money to live comfortably for another twenty. Although I do believe that the government should be responsible for assiting seniors so that their income is enough to let them lead a relatively comfortable life. (not having to eat Purina or live without hydro or TV).
  19. Ahhh, but the NON-abusive parent DOES control their anger before doling out a spanking. He tells his child that he has 10 minutes to think about what he's done and then dad will be in with the belt. This way dad has time to calm down. And for the child -- the anticipation of the spanking is usually much worse than the spanking itself The abusive parent just does it right there on the spot in the heat of anger. Spanking does not work for all children but it worked for mine (he got 2 spankings in his life). "Time out" is a waste of time IMO. Grounding from electronics works awesomely -- for some kids (mine).
  20. No, I do not work for the govt. And yes I work hard -- I'm a sales rep. I wouldn't say we work harder than the poor fellow in a third world country running shoe factory. No I don't work that hard. I appreciate that our govt provides us with much needed services which we pay for through taxes. Yes we pay too much taxes... everybody always complains about taxes. Too bad they didn't save for retirement. oooh I sense some bitterness... get booted off our social system or sumpthin'?
  21. Funny Most people in Canada have a roof over their heads, a job, a full belly and a fancy dancy computer to boot! By some people’s attitudes you would think we were all living in abject poverty... or worse. We live in one of the best countries on earth. Yet there are those who always welcome the opportunity to slam it. I never understood this…..
  22. actually it's foy-yay.
  23. No. Quran texts, just like the Old Testament are taken directly from Sumerian texts. Duh, illiterate leaders had scribes to read to them and write for them... Once again every word in every so-called holy book has been taken from earlier texts. Most notably Sumerian. Ahhh, but the Sumerians were fully aware of "scientific fact", they even knew how many planets are in our solar system. In summary so far I have mentions verses that tell people that : That is correct, God (Niburu) smacked into earth causing the asteroid belt (the "heavens") Correct again -- the earth (back then called Tiamat) was a very watery planet. That is also correct. Earth (Tiamat) was knocked into our current orbit after it was hit by god (Niburu) Didn't god make it perfect to begin with? If it's perfect, why does it need to expand? ---- nothing about the expanding universe in the translations (of Sumerian texts) that I have read. Yes, once again, after the planet was hit there was much upheavel, earthquakes (Tiamatquakes LOL) ...you didn't finish... ...he got ahold of some ancient Sumerian knowledge... perhaps we should do the same. Type Niburu or Annunaki or Ancient Sumerian into google and see what comes up -- I have already provided links for you on the other 2 zillion threads you've started on this very same topic.
  24. Who cares? Why would you even think that a Cuban (or Canadian or Parisian, or Persian or green outer space alien) needs to worry whether or not they are "making life better for Americans"? The world does not revolve around "making life better for Americans" sheesh. The question is... how has AMERICA's policies AFFECTED (not made better) the people of Cuba? Hmmmmmm?
  25. Poly, I do not believe the official story of 911, I am aware of the NAU and Verichip, I know our banking system is tied inexorably to our governments... so I am with you (to a limited extent). But you come across as a complete nut case so that regular people with real questions can't get a (normal) word in edgewise for your ranting.
