What Kind of Country Is The US Becoming?

Re: "I don't give a shit that he is weaponizing the DOJ, in fact, I want more of it than is going on." What goes around, comes around, dude. lol -

Ya mean the investigation the fired Pam Bondi has launched against the Obama and Bidens administrations re: lawfare and ongoing 'criminal conspiracy'? Bring it! OMG, man .................... Bondi has lost all cred .......... rumor has it she's in a straightjacket in some asylum. Right now there is NO confirmed DOJ. The accepted 'norm' is that the DOJ operates independently - largely for political reasons and to prevent accusations of 'weaponizing' Trump has taken weaponization to new and absurd levels - DOJ and the FBI. -

No, the DOJ has what is called, 'operational independence' from the Executive. The DOJ is NOT the President's hired gun ............ Bondi notwithstanding. -

...................hanging on the front of the DOJ building. U know the DOJ, the institution tasked with being independent of Government.? -
What kind of investigation? ?? Imagine that, the 'people' want an investigation and Congress obliges ........ likely beginning with a DHS subpoena. re: 'if you want to engage..................." The people say, 'better late than never'. An investigation is procedural protocol There was a use of deadly force by a police enforcement officer, several shots fired into a young mother, she was killed. Again, the investigation is to protect the institution ....... hopefully prevent society calling them a bunch of low-life, low paid, poorly trained vigilantes. Course Stephen Millers inane comments re: 'being above the law', hinders any degree of faith the institution might have.

so...................... have an investigation? There will be an investigation ........... post midterms. Any shooters would be advised to 'go far' and 'stay long' Granted, an investigation could lead to criminal charges ............. that's the point of the investigation, to clear the shooter............ but far more importantly, the institution. People (many) believe the shooter in this case and others were vigilantes - perception becomes reality without the investigation. it's akin to a political hack porking a subordinate - he's IS OUT! U want folks to have faith in the institution .................. even when ur pi$$'n on them.

The problem with Canadians
John Stone replied to paxamericana's topic in Canada / United States Relations
China is light-years ahead in EV development - fer fk's sake their technology is flooding the West. China is either making it, developing it or selling it. Trump has turned the EV industry upside down in the US. ............... ditto science.......... higher learning........... medical research , soft international support (USAID). Guess who's taking up the slack? The effective shutdown of the US Agency for International Development has already created openings for China to fill in developing countries. The aid was not so much for humanitarian reasons - it was for political leverage, hegemon(e)y......... by extension defense, commerce. USAID amount to less than 1 percent of GDP. -

FWIW: The USSR collapsed due to a combination of economic stagnation, political reforms, rising nationalism and COSTLY MILITARY COMMITMENTS. To paraphrase. the domestic population wanted dish washers and food and those in command were bankrupting the country thu defense spending. They (Politburo(s)) just kept driving up the debt. -

Although the yuan is unlikely to replace the USD (Reserve) in the near future, China's strategy is to do so. Amazing how those slants can sit back and quietly be so strategic. They've identified the US. Achilles heel (thank Nixon), ......... their strategy is to become the global economy. While the US economic footprint shrinks, the silk-belt-roads are expanding. Regionally the bast'ds are flexing in the South China Sea as well. -
If there is a shooting it is investigated. Police officers are required to undergo a thorough investigation after being involved in a shooting incident, which includes both criminal and administrative inquiries. Use of deadly force by a cop is just too political ........... it raises concerns with those they are tasked in protecting?

.................the US debt is roughly 40 trillion ..............and clocking up! ............... the US deficit is over 1 trillion / yr. Trump added 8 trillion to the debt during his last tenure. Trump's request for defense in 2027 is almost 2 trillion. Ur correct to be concerned, but ur worrying about the wrong country.................. Research the major reason why the USSR collapsed,................... -
SOP is to conduct an investigation. The absence is deafening. The obstruction by the federal authorities is deafening. If it is sooooooooo clear, conduct an open investigation IAW, SOP Ya think 'they' are afraid of what might be revealed - many camera angles? For political gain alone, conduct an investigation. NO? Why?

re: "This condition existed before Trump ever became President and will after." / User I'm assuming ur referring to free and open passage of commerce thru the Strait? Def concur Rumor has it that Trump is referring to 'it' as the "Strait of Iran"??? -
Nothing has been determined re: Goode's killing. The investigation into the shooting of Goode has been ………………. Complicated?? The sole criminal investigation is currently in the hands of Minnesota county officials. However, they are facing significant hurdles due to lack of cooperation from federal authorities. There will be NO federal investigation into her death – so, only one investigative path remains open. An autopsy revealed that Goode sustained multiple gunshot wounds. She was the mother of a 6 y/o

Democrats’ Third-World reasoning

Concur, BC is a piece of sht! Course Trump has been accused of sexual misconduct over several decades ............ is he a piece of sht too? Imagine the outrage if Obama was accused of sexual misconduct over several decades ............ outrage might be too mild a term.
